Gotcha, thanks, I think mine's essentially all done, but I won't submit it just yet as I keep coming up with new ideas and tweaking difficulty.
Here's a sneak peak though:
...
Now I'm DEFINITELY glad I'm not entering. With entries like this, anything I make will be disqualified for being utterly crap in comparison.
Not even someone as understanding as Rsmalec will be able to stop himself from disqualifying my entries. Heck, even I would disqualify myself for anything I make, EVER.
I've no idea who'll win but seeing these 3, I can't even imagine the winning map's visualgasm-ness O_O

Come on, you won the adventure multiplex! I've seen what you can do!

THAT is the difference. I won because I can make a good ADVENTURE but not a good structure. Seriously, Motel CTL looks utter crap compared to some of the structures in that map.
I cannot build. That's why I don't make maps inspite of having really good & actually original story ideas. Unfortunately since I suck at building, chances are those ideas will never escape my brain :'(

Have you played through Gloria? It's all just a bunch of small structures, hallways and caves. However, what makes it so popular is how the story and the progression are strung into the small buildings, hallways and caves. Therefore, a mostly decent map can be made without having giant structures everywhere if it has a good story and a good sense of progression. I bet you could make an excellent map, anistuffs!
You guys are too kind, I'm really looking forward to the final map as all of the submissions so far on here look awesome. I've played ColdFusionGaming's and the redstone and timings are great!
Mine's almost done, I hate working with MCEdited water though; I just spent a couple of hours adding finishing touches and flavour items, only to catch one block near the water and watch the update cause the maelstrom to cascade in on itself. Thankfully I make backups every time I have a break...

I hate it when that happens. In the Ravine of the Lava bars in Pathfinder Elemental I had something like that happen except with lava. It look 15 minutes to clean up. :/
I also have a question for RSmalec regarding the usage of redstone. 'Am I allowed to put some kind of redstone action in the map ( Not visual action) for example: You have to flip all 4 levers to be able to land into the water?' It wasn't really clear if we are allowed do that In my opinion
That would not disqualify you.
However, I have a question that you don't need to answer to me - just consider where you put them... will it be possible for the player to pull all 4 in one go or are you going to spread them out to make them fall multiple times?
Will you be putting the ratings for each drop somewhere so we can see exactly how much we sucked compared to Thistle?
I'm not certain yet.
I'm really hoping I get a LOT of entries, which means there are going to be a lot of drops with the same score and I'm basically going to have to pick the best one based on some attribute that wows me the most.
I might post the top X maps.
I'm just not sure.
I am -thinking- I want to at least do a commentary on them... we'll see.

I'm not going to disqualify anyone unless they break the rules.
ALL maps will be put into the compilation. The more the better, so I really hope you get a chance to try.

Would that disqualify me then? I have 3 gates that the player can activate by falling through to score points, although it's 100% optional. It's not laggy though (I have some redstone reduction tricks )
The theme I'm going for is the 4 levels of minecraft:
skylands (which was programmed, then became the end, in case somebody didn't know that)
normal world
the nether
the end
I've been having some problems with the end. The best stuff I can get, with or without worldedit looks less like a competentely generated terrain, and more like swiss cheese, and sadly, I'm NOT going for a space theme.
Anyone have a few tips for worldedit?

I've only just started using worldedit myself, but doesn't it have a 'smooth brush' which is meant to make shapes look more terrain generated. This might help

As long as the player can make a soft landing that should be fine.

My mini-CTM map! It's a fun map, so play it!
