Is this no longer working? I had tried 4 times with a clean minecraft and after following the instructions exactly I get a Done Loading grren bar stuck at about 80% and it never moves
So, this looks pretty awesome. I was watching some of Direwolf20's old videos with NearbyGamer and I'm wondering what the difference between that iteration and now is and what the difference between the regular and insanity modes is. Thanks!

Regular mode is like in that trailer video- one item for each round.
Insanity requires 9 items/stacks of items for each round.
(As a result you need insane EMC generation by round 5- like diamonds/second amounts of EMC )

About the EMC generation, I seem to be getting 1EMC/second from my MK1 Energy Collector. I put a Jack-o-Lantern directly above it but it is still generating slow. Is this intended?
I'm on the "Bronze Age" BTW. I kept the broken pickaxe from the project table at spawn and now I put it in the carpenter to get 2 bronze ingots (the ones that are worth 128 EMC instead of 255) and started using those. Is this allowed? By that I mean legit?
EDIT: what the heck are the brewing stands at the spawn for? When you die and go to spawn.. you won't have any items. And I don't suppose we can break them? Or can we build up to spawn?

Mk1 collectors are supposed to be slow since they run on nothing. Find an alternative means of EMC generation and use collectors only for those things that need a slow, but constant supply.

You needed bronze in order to make the carpenter. But yeah, you shouldn't be using that bronze due to the emc differences. Not that it matters much in the long run since you don't use very much bronze at later stages until you start playing with bees and building dozens of apiaries.

No, the only things you should be taking from spawn are those enderbags with the bees in them. You should make your own brewing stands from blaze rods.
Great modpack/map! My only complaint is that its a little laggy, although that's my computer's fault not yours. I tried installing optifine, and it crashed the game with the "saving chunks" screen. Does anyone know if there is a fix for this? Thanks!
I just downloaded the modpack to my MC folders (following the video tutorial for Vanilla download step by step) and now my minecraft just gives me the dirt texture background and an incomplete loading bar witht he words "Done Loading" above it and above that it says "Updating Minecraft" i should note that i am on the most current version of 1.4.2, did I do something wrong or is this mod not yet compatable w/ 1.4, and if not, can somebody please give me the link to the most recent compatable update of MC so I can play FTB?
Edit: I also downloaded both maps, insanity and normal, I am running on windows and everything was downloaded via Firefox and my firewall is McAffee if that helps
Edit2: I just found out why i was having troubles, but if anybody does find the solution to the above that is compatable w/ 1.3+, plz lemme know
Running into a small problem, trying to use the mod pack for a normal survival map, but every time I go to generate the map it generates a completely blank map with only one piece of bedrock I spawn on.

It's the NoGen mod included in the pack that halts any and all forms of world generation as to prevent players of the FTB maps from traveling to far-off landmasses to recover resources there. If you want a playable standard survival map with the modpack, you might want to disable this mod either through the FTB Launcher or MultiMC.

Can't wait for RP2 and Thaumcraft 3 to be ready to try this mod pack.
N00bish question, though, but has anyone consulted DrZhark about getting Mo' Creatures in, or considered getting Mo' Creatures in? I get the feeling (AKA no hard research) that Extrabiomes and Mystcraft might cause issues with the custom mob spawner and creature spawning rate in locations that are not traditionally in minecraft, but I believe another mod called the Mob Spawn Controls can resolve a ton of those issues.
I shamelessly fanboy Mo' Creatures since I have always considered the lack of mob diversity in the game to be one of it's biggest flaws, and that mod seems to resolve that flaw quite effectively. While red matter swords and mining lasers are nice, what would be really nice is something to use it on other a creeper.
EDIT: And then I answer my own question. Just found this on the Mo' Creatures thread:
The only package that can currently distribute this mod is the YogBox. Please do not PM or email me asking me for permission to add my mod to your modpack, the answer is 'No'
Which is most unfortunate. Then again, for all I know that has been sitting there for forever and the Doc has changed his mind on such an issue...
Awsome mod , but im having a problem with it , eveytime i try to play (currently playing 1.4.5) it loads then it gets stuck at the "Updating done" screen , help?
It is brilliant. Just a few things - struggling to find any rubber trees?
And also, I am awful with the turtle. I can get it to go back, forward and to tunnel etc, but I want it build me a few 9 x 9 platforms. What would be the best way to do this?
I think the best way to do the platforms is with Mercurial Eye :DI think the SMP version never i'l come

You cant use the FTB Mod pack to play in random generated maps! you need to download and install yourself the mods to generate random worlds
Also, is there a way to get pipes/power to travel through the nether? Geothermal would be amazing in the nether
There are some workarounds. I think Gregtech includes an ender-storage like device that'll take power from everywhere. There are also some workarounds that you can do with using buckets on an enderchest.

it is a mod in the ftb pack, go to edit mod pack and disable "mod_YUNoMakeGoodMap(1)" and it should work.
you didn't delete the meta-inf folder

the only downside is that it does not yet have redpower.
