I subbed u on youtube before u released this and im glad i did!
I have restarted many times but i just got out of the Spaceship(monument).
Found a secret chest is spawn, made some bridges out of wool and lost all my torches...
Ill post some pics if anyone wants to see :mellow.gif:
Oh hey thanks for the sub iPory! Making video making has been a little slow these days but, I got a bunch of new stuf in the works :smile.gif:
Yeah, post your pics / feedback here I check the thread frequently
OK...very challenging and fun map. Kinda struggling to push forward and died fairly soon after making this video, so my death count is already +1. Fun stuff!
Note: Apologies but I do swear a lot in this video..so if that offends, please don't watch!
Awesome! added it to the Videos and LP's section :biggrin.gif:
You're doing great BTW. I like that you have already built a mob trap. Tells me you're on the right track. Like i said, resource management is a big part of this map. I'm not saying there's not a bunch of goodies and loot but, being able to focus on generating your own supplies will help a bunch. Specially with the cobble, I'm just downright stingy when it comes to cobble :wink.gif:
I just started playing your map and I'm a little bit concerned about 2 things :
1. I found 3 pig spawners so far (1 at the starting island and 2 in the big tree). Are they even supposed to exist? I want to make sure these were intended before I start using them (2 pigs managed to spawn with the grass without having to use a spawner, so it wouldn't do much other than speed things up)
2. I found 2 iron axes in that big tree... they are indestructible. Is this intended? (Probably not, but I'll ask anyway)
It's a cool map so far and I hope there's some birch saplings somewhere because I HATE the regular trees and their shenanigans.

I've managed to locate the pig spawners in the tree and on the island. They were not intended but, if you can make use of them, I don't see why not. Mapmaker's folly xD
I can't locate any iron axes in the tree at all. Could you give me an idea of where you found those? Also, I didn't intend for any items to be infinite so, you can either use them and hope you don't lose them or, throw 'em out. it's your call :smile.gif:
Those axes shall be destroyed with fire and death!
I don't think I'll use the pig spawners if they weren't intended.
I got access to wheat seeds and I got water, I'll just make a farm.
If I do want meat, I got a chicken crapping eggs and 2 legit pigs at the big tree.
Anyway, the infinite iron axes are at the following coordinates in the tree:
x:-36
y:99
z:-243
I just finished "Behind the Curtain", so I don't need them anymore. (JACKPOT!) :cool.gif:
Also, I find it odd that from all the hidden golden loot I got, only the golden axe wasn't enchanted.
I found a similar chest with iron equipment and everything including the axe was enchanted, so...
I don't know, I just find it... odd. :huh.gif:
Sorry mate, but as regular sapling fanboy I'm obliged to inform you that you can just height limit them and then pack 'em in nice and close..and never have a log out of reach from the ground.
Lets have some regular ('classic') sapling love around these parts.
So what you're saying is that I need to "deal with it"? There's 2 other types of trees in Minecraft and I just so happen to want to use them too. I'm not gonna limit myself to only the basic type. Also, the regular trees cannot give me the birch and pine textures so... yeah. :dry.gif:
I can deal with only regular saplings for wood farming, but I rather use birch for my tree farm if they are available to me. :mellow.gif:
Why? I'll tell you why. :laugh.gif:
1. You're gonna make sure you don't get any big tree, which means you'll only get trees with 4-6 wood. Birch gives 5-7. That's an average of 1 more wood per tree.
2. Birch trees grow faster than regular trees. The main reason is because when the regular tree tries to grow, it may try to grow into a big tree, but since it cannot, that tree will have to wait a little bit longer. Not to mention the average time it takes to grow a regular tree is about 30 minutes. If I were to use bonemeal on birch trees, it would grow 100% of the time. Not so much with regular trees (big tree shenanigans).
3. Stupid leaves in your face. Sure, you can elevate the saplings 1 block higher, but you still have to break at least 1 leaf block with a 4 wood high tree just to reach the 4th wood. You never have to break leaves with birch trees. Never.
4. Logs out of reach from the ground? That never happens with birch trees if you cut the bottom part last and use it as a step to reach the 7th wood piece.
5. Like I said earlier, I use it as a building material.
Also, I like to space out the trees to get a decent amount of saplings in order to replant/use in furnaces. Compact farms will just make the growing process even slower than it already it. :sad.gif:
Tree farming can be tedious sometimes, anything making it easier and simpler is welcome. Birch is awesome. :cool.gif:
Found some Spawners that were not specified (pig) in several places. fixed that.
Found a couple of iron axes that somehow had -32000 damage. Nixed that.
While playing through my copy of the map, I realized there needed to be a better transportation system. While the resources are there to build this sort of thing, you have to piece them together from various locations on the map and if you don't visit the right areas in the right order, it may be a while before you're building minecart tracks. This seemed way too grindy for my taste so, I added a special loot box in each area of the map containing minecart track building supplies. This way, you have the option of automating your travels without having to work as hard for the supplies. Sounds too easy right? Well, you still have to build the darn thing and this is a huge map...
...and this is still the meanest map ever xD muwahhahaahahaha!
Truly amazing map. Loved the terraforming, great idea, very nicely executed. And it's also a lot of fun to play, of course! I'm uploading the first part of my series where me and my friend play through the map, I'll be sure to let you know when it's up.
You should probably make a global scan of your map with an external program or something because there could be some more out there.
I'm doing good so far and I noticed that you give us lots of loot but few building blocks, if any at all. My main building block right now is dirt from the starting island because it's quick to harvest... and because it's the most common block available.
Edit:
Perfect, I found a desert and a blaze spawner... I can start brewing and modifying the potions I got.
My progress so far:
Just finished the anti-gravity graveyard and holy sh*t, that's a lot of bones. I pretty much have infinite bread. Now, if only I could find some coal/diamond deposits, I got a few fortune picks waiting to be used.
My stuff :
1 double chest filled with splash healing/harming/speed/regeneration
1 double chest filled with bones/rotten flesh
1 double chest with enchanted equipment
1 double chest filled with arrows/food
1 double chest with various mob drops/precious ores
1 double chest with dirt/wood
Tree farm, water, iron, bread, enchanting table, brewing stand, chickens, cows.
3/11 music disks
3/6 bonus blocks
Looks like a very interesting map, I have began to consider my own lets play series, and I am thinking of making this my first map of the series. I won't be starting it for a few hours ( got a couple things to figure out before starting) and I want to make sure I have it working right before starting. So hopefully by the end of the day I'll add a link to the video :biggrin.gif:
Number 2 will not be coming out because, you know, i died...
Awesome Zane! I'll watch it and add it to the Video's and LP's section :smile.gif:
Don't give up. The starting island is a true test but, once you've got yourself established you'll starting moving through the map quicker :smile.gif:

Thanks Avenger! Yep, I found that one and two more :/ I'm going to release another update of the map very soon. Sorry you're running into so many bugs or, pigs as it were xD I think I'll have to credit you as a beta tester :smile.gif:

Oh boy, I got a creeper inside the Jukebox Monument. I think he spawned on top of a jukebox. :blink.gif: Fortunately, he didn't do any damage. I added glowstone around the base of each jukebox, that should fix the problem. :wink.gif:

Man! That's been happening to me as well! I almost lost a jukebox to a creeper. I may have to add that to the de-bug list. Half-blocks should do :smile.gif:
