I do have a set of custom zombie spawners that each spawn a dyed leather clad zombie in each color of wool block. Something I was just messing around with a long time ago but, maybe I could put it to use somehow. Fluffy rainbows of joy
Cakewalk IS perfect, but I think it needs something to give it a little extra... kick. Like cake warriors that knock you around as you do the super easy parkour.
Huh. That sounds cool. #RainbowAreaConfirmedVFIII
Wait... Vinyl Fantasy 3... Three_two, which can be translated to 3 x 2, which can mean two threes... Vinyl Fantasy is a play on words of Final Fantasy which is created by Sqare Enix... Square Enix is aware of Valve's existence I think... Half Life 3 Confirmed.
Who the hell breaks chests?? It's not like you're gonna store stuff in it anyway, you'll die trying
Not unless a) you know the chest is linked up to a command block that gives you bad stuffs, you can deactivate it and still get the feather 10 diamond boots and c) it's pretty useless trying to escape when you have nausea.
Hey there
So I wanted to play VFII in 1.6 and I was bored so I fixed the monument. I don't know if you did it already but I can send you a schematic to save you some time. I redid all the redstone from scratch and used comparators to detect if the good disc is in the good jukebox. Oh and I changed the event occurring at monument completion
Yeah, I have a completely redesigned JBM with all the stuff you mentioned and more. I haven't dropped it into the old maps because I feel they need more than a working monument to bring them up to speed with the current versions of the game. There will be a re-release of VF (one) in a few weeks featuring a lot of new stuff.
Is it bad I only really want a remake of VFI just so I can maybe have an easier time on the starting island? Last time I played it, it wrecked me, which is part of the reason I've never gotten past two records in it, that and lack of time. VFII I've never completed only because I started it up, decided to wait until I beat VFI, and never beat VFI.
Then again, I have gotten much better at CTM maps since then, so It'd probably be different next time anyways.
Majority of my deaths in VFI were by getting knocked into the void. Yup. Just sayin'.
All of my deaths were either in the snowman area or the angular desert thing. So many cave spiders/ blazes, and I tried to take those areas on early.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
There ain't much left of the world these days. The gods have forsaken us, there's no denying that. But still you press on. For what? A chance to sift through the ashes one last time? The hope to one day be called a hero? Whatever your reason, you've got a lot of work to do. The corruption won't leave without a fight, so you better get started.
I don't know why this just came to me, but I suddenly remembered endermen spawners in the starting area of VF1 from when I last tried it. Will you be changing those, or leaving them there for people to grind? I remember Endy-Man Spawners being OP in Nightmare Realm, and I would expect it to be the same here unless the areas are heavily invisible laddered up.
Once the depredations of mankind upon the fragile beauty of nature have been finished, I'll start work on my water and piston free mob grinder and the endermen farm. Plus a house.
Then I should be ready to take on the map for real this time, instead of giving up like I have with VF1 and 2 in the past.
If you want to play now, go into your MC Launcher and select "new profile." Then go to the drop-down version menu and choose release 1.2.5. Now you're ready to play Vinyl Fantasy I or II. If you need Optifine, go to the Optifine forum page, and select previous/older versions. Choose the 1.2.5 version of Optifine and install it into your 1.2.5 .jar. Finally, for best experience, download Last_Username's Lights Out mod and install that the same way you install Optifine.
You're not waiting until he updates VFI in a few weeks? Ok...
Drat. Should have read page 95 too. Oh well, no going back now. I have a tree farm, melon farm, mob farm, house, etc. all set up. Infinite wood, charcoal, food, gunpowder, bones, and arrows. Plus I have spider spawners and enderman spawners waiting to be farmed, and 1 disk in the JBM.

lol
Well, I guess you'll just have to wait until others play the inevitable update and see what's new then. Besides, maybe after you beat this one you can run through again later and see what he's changed for yourself.

On the other hand there's something inherently fun about playing the original version of a map. Like the difference between Sunburn Islands then and Sunburn Islands now. Or playing Kaizo Caverns/Legendary in the original beta versions that they were designed for.
One thing I really like about VF1 so far is how the loot chests are handled. They're rare, and are actually something to look forward to, rather than being spammed all over the area like in more current CTM maps. In addition, they always have gear that is incredibly useful and desperately needed, without being OP. I can see though how a player who hates the "grindy/minecrafty" part of CTM maps wouldn't be able to progress very far in this map. You certainly cannot use loot chests as crutches.

yeah I agree, VF1 definitely stays true to the original CTM map description, "Survival Map First, Adventure Map Second," ~Vechs~
So three_two.
I'm thinking of doing a speedrun of VFII.
Do you have any plans on updating the map soon or should I go for it now?
Because nobody has replied, I'll fill the roll.
Yes, he is updating them. Soon? Probably not. VFI is definitely being updated soon, but VFII is apparently a MUCH bigger map (Never played it or the first, I plan to fix that ASAP though) so it would probably take much more time. He said he wants to update both before VFIII (Or, at least that's what I remember reading. Could have changed plans, we'll have to wait for confirmation from tree_too himself), so I'd say wait for speedruns.
Now, as I obviously am not the author of this map series, take whatever I just said with a grain of salt. Most of it is from what I last remember seeing, but his plans can definitely change. Regardless, you can just do whatever you want, as I'm just some person on the forums who seems to think he knows a thing or two about this game people call "MayanCraft" or whatever.

*Non-existing bubble burst
(Yes, i drew a non-existing bubble bursting, in paint.net)
IM CRYING NOW. LOOK WHAT YOU DID. WAAAAAAAH. THAT WAS SO BEAUTIFUL.

Go for it. Considering he did say he was updating them "in a few weeks" since June or something, and I think it will be VF1 first.
