Unfortunately I don't have the sufficient level in javascript to make a sprinting script... An it would break the game, and a lot of platforming challenges, so the movements will stay the way they are.
I have, however, the sufficient level to make a great adventure

Maybe you can make some shortcuts....like the pipes in Mario & Luigi RPGs or The 'Instrumental Teleportation' in Zelda Games.
Yep, this is planned, not for this version (which won't need it because it will all happen in the city), but for the one after that.
If you need some help with scripts, I could help you ^^
Awesome ! I might need some help in this area, yeah, because there's a couple of stuff I wanna do that i have no idea how to script. I'll ask you when I'm there. Thanks a lot

Okay now here are some news : I finished ALL the buildings (the palace was the last and the longest one), but now I have to make the inside of each house, of each construction, and I didn't take this into consideration It will take a bit more time than planned to go on the scripting part. But it's going well so far, I'm honestly quite proud of the overall result !

Still working on it ! I defined all the different quests, and how they interconnect with each other. It's not a easy task, and it will not be easy to script, I'm sure

I don't really know actually... It will probably take an other few month. I would say April or May but i cannot say for sure, it might be before or after that
I don't know if anyone mentioned this before but I thought this was related to or derived from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. Map looks really good though. I wasn't aware that adventurecraft was still functional!

I wanted to thank all of the people that download this game because in the last days I had twice the number of downloads than I had in the last few months... And that's awesome

In a rough estimation, I think the next version will add 6 more hours of gameplay, maybe more.
I already have plans for the rest of the game, with no spoilers here they are :
- Version 4.0 - (may or april 2018)
As you know, it will feature the capital, with lots of sidequests, and a really big step in the main story. Maybe the most important area in the game.
As in the Big Tree Fields zone, you're gonna have to go back a couple times in this city, through the rest of the game.
In this version, the city will stay closed, and you will not have access to all of the other areas you previously visited (great tree fields, orion village, etc...)
But don't worry, you'll have enough to do with the capital alone
- Version 4.3 (i am sure v4.1 and v4.2 will be dedicated to debugging, even if i try my best) - (this summer)
This version will not add anything new to the main quest, but it will open up the capital to all of the other areas. I'll have to redo certain things and to rethink some of the sidequests, and secrets areas i did back then in a way the game, as a whole, feels coherent to the player. So it'll be some work.
It will also feature three optional dungeons, that will be well hidden, and difficult to beat (because of the riddles).
The main purpose of this version is to make the world feel alive, and connected, and full of surprises.
- Version 5.0 - (11/2018)
Third dungeon of the game. A big, big dungeon. Full of tree lovers.
- Version 6.0 - (03/2018)
Continuation of the story. No new areas, but the main quest will take an unexpected turn.
- Version 7.0 - (summer 2018)
A new city, called Ramrokrok. Some NPCs spoke a little about it in the earlier areas of the game, don't know if you remember.
- Version 8.0 - (01/2019)
A big step in the story. Once again, no new areas, but a major change... well i'll keep the details to myself. *teasing* *teasing*
- Version 9.0 - (summer 2019)
Fourth and last dungeon in the game. In the sky. No need to tell you it will be big, and challenging, and everything you can expect from a final dungeon (well at least it is so in my head, we'll see how i succeed in this when i get there )
- Version 10.0 - (09/2019)
I round it all up. I make all the bugs go away. I add some sidequests. I clear the gray areas, and the not-so-smooth transitions between a quest and an other. In short I polish it. And then, it's the end. Finito. Game completed.
So as you can see it's a long way from the end of the game, and i'm not really close to finishing it (once i release the version 4.0 it'll be half of it). But that's okay with me. I have so much fun doing this, and it relaxes me in my free time. I realize it's a big project, but Adventure Craft is a very good tool to make this kind of stuff without really getting into complicated coding sheanigans. So in all honesty, i think i can do it. I really want to !
The total duration of the game will be about 20 hours in straight line, and almost 40 hours if you want to do it all.
I really want you to feel like every corner can lead to something interesting, to make you think, and ponder on the environnment, that's why i plan to add so many sidequests (i love sidequests, i always loved them since i'm a child ). Plus, lots of sidequest will give you big rewards you will almost not be able to complete the main quest without.
Obviously, release dates are approximative, but i think it'll go something like this. We'll see. Maybe you'll quote this sentence in 4 years when i'll still work on the seventh version
Don't worry even if it does not meet any success what so ever, i'll finish it. The 4K dowloads I have are sufficient, i just want to have fun doing this.

I've just encountered the strangest bug...
If i'm anywhere beside this red line - that I made with wool in order to show you - if i save the game and try to reload it, it will crash...
Would you have any idea how to fix it, and what causes this bug ? Only the lighthouse is concerned, not the rest of the city, so that's a relief, but I need people to be able to save here, it's an important place :/
Don't mind me, just continuing the "screenshots every two or three days to keep this thread alive and to keep you updated" scheme.

Wow, the city looks really good.
Thanks, I worked on it really hard, I'm almost done now
Soon I will go on the scripting part (the hardest and longest part)

Noble's quarters
Didn't have much time to progress lately... Still finishing to build the city. So I'll bump with some before / after pictures o/

The game is downloaded more and more each week that's great.
Reposting what I wrote last week so it can have visibility on the new page :
