Infection is a challenging adventure map with a compelling story: the small tree-top village has been experiencing an outbreak of an evil kind; it is up to YOU to determine who is the cause of this mess and try to stop him before the infection spreads.

Texture Pack
There is a custom Painterly texture pack included. I request that you use the texture pack as some things just won't look as good without it. It is by no means absolutely necessary for the completion of the map, however, so if you really hate texture packs for some reason (but why would you? They're beautiful) you can go without it.
Rules
1. You cannot break blocks, though an exception is with spiderwebs. :wink.gif:
2. You cannot place blocks, either, unless instructed to do so.
3. Play on Normal or Easy. I would recommend Easy, personally, but you are more than welcome to a higher difficulty if you so desire. :smile.gif:
4. Have fun and try not to die! :smile.gif:

Feedback
If you play the map, tell me what you think of it. Seriously. I don't know why people are willing to play a map but not tell the map-maker what they thought of it, but it is incredibly frustrating not knowing what people think of my work, especially when I put a significant amount of time into messing with the redstone stuff and getting that to work properly. So...yeah. The point of this rant is to say "Please tell me what you think! :smile.gif:"
Bugfixes
11/23/2011 - Added a ladder down to the dock, in addition to some torches; added a sign telling people to jump from their minecart to avoid unnecessary death.
Known Problems
- While this didn't occur in 1.8, for some reason large drops (even into water) while in a minecart will kill you; this is unintentional and unavoidable unless I added some obnoxious railing, so when you see a sign that says "Jump!", get out of the minecart while you're falling and you should live. Again, this is some weird bug on Minecraft's part that didn't occur when I originally made this map.
- Some people are reporting weird bugs with boats involving boats randomly breaking? I can't re-create the bug, but I'm putting it here in case that is a real problem.

Oh! I forgot one thing: this map SHOULD be compatible with the 1.9 pre-releases. It doesn't have any of the content from the prereleases (like the brewing stand or Nether dungeons), but I'm fairly certain there aren't any major changes that should cause it not to work with 1.9.
Actually, I sorta recommend you play in 1.9 just because then there isn't a chance that Endermen will completely ruin any of the redstone circuitry. So...yeah. Up to you all what version you play it on.
uh i dont no if sayin this makes me stupid but... whats the rules?
haha no it's a perfectly logical question. :smile.gif:
The rules are the basic ones all adventure maps follow: don't break blocks, don't place blocks, don't be a ****, etc. :tongue.gif: I figured the rules have been the same in pretty much all the adventure maps ever so I didn't need to post them. :wink.gif:
I really liked it, but I didnt even see note 4 and 5. Also I ran out of stone sword and had to rawdog the rest of it :tongue.gif:
Just checked to make sure I didn't screw it up; the signs for Notes 4 and 5 are there and are visible in such a manner that you shouldn't have missed them. However, considering you were still only on the stone sword and not on the frying pan (iron sword), I assume you were just oblivious to some things...

Thanks for playing! :smile.gif:
more than likely I walked right past them. I am restarting so I don't miss anything. But so far it is super fun.
Ok. I played through it again, and I beat it! I have only two questions. When you fall from the minecart are you suppose to die? (lol)And when you go "The Docks" there is no ladder going from the town to the path. Other than that it was really fun and had an interesting plot. Oh and by the way I found the two notes, turns out I walked right past them.
just read the other comments, and this map sounds good! Ill make sure to tell you what i think! And i might even record it.
EDIT: I just finished this! I loved it! keep making maps! It keep me on the edge of my seat bc of the spiders. Heres a small clip i used of my gameplay to promo the minecraft series i wanna do.

haha, no. If you died then the map would be over. :tongue.gif:
Yeah, there is a ladder, but I realize now that it isn't all that visible unless you look for the break in-between fences.

It probably should only take around an hour at most; it isn't very long but I know some of the puzzles/traps can be difficult. :smile.gif:
