Mine too, it gets stuck on the mojang screen then crashes, I tested minecraft and it was B1.8.1 but for some reason when i use the adventure map installer and then I try play the game my minecraft crashes! can you please add a manual installation for the game? I prefer those more.

MCNoastalgia doesn't support Minecraft 1.4.7 so I guess unless this map updates then it's been outdated. It really sucks because I wanted to try this map...

In the MCNostalgia thread (here), this issue already been addressed.

1. Download 1.4.6 pre-release minecraft.jar from http://assets.minecr...6/minecraft.jar
2. Replace your current minecraft.jar with 1.4.6 pre-release.
3. MCNostalgia will now recognize the version, and be able to patch it.
• Option "61" should be 1.8.1 beta.

I just did this to my minecraft install; MCNostalgia worked flawlessly.

How to Manually Install Deep Space Turtle Chase! Client

Why manually install?
If for some reason the packaged installers don't work, such as in my case. While the installers are make life easy, all they do is copy files around.


For manually installing Deep Space Turtle Chase! client, you'll be copying files between two directories:

1. the installed Minecraft directory-- this will be prefixed by "/minecraft" in the following instructions
2. the Deep Space Turtle Chase! mod directory-- this will be prefixed by "/DSTC" in the following instructions

At the time of this writing, Minecraft version 1.4.7 is current. The following instructions assumes you're using a fresh 1.4.7 installation to begin with.

Procedures

1. Follow official DSTC installation instructions (view here) steps 1 through 5.
1. See my above post to get MCNostalgia to work with Minecraft 1.4.7.
2. In your respective "/minecraft/bin" directory, rename "minecraft.jar" to "minecraft.zip".
• JAR files are literally ZIP archives with a different extension; easy, eh?
3. Unzip "minecraft.zip" contents to directory named "/minecraft/bin/minecraft.jar/"-- yes, the directory name will be the same as the original file.
1. The directory name must be the same name as the original file. What this will do is tell application to use the files from a directory, instead of compressed inside of a single JAR (really a ZIP archive) file.
4. Delete "/minecraft/bin/minecraft.jar/META-INF/" directory.
5. Core mod installation:
1. Copy everything in "/DSTC/mods/required/The Deep Space Turtle Chase Experience/resources/" to "/minecraft/". Do not put it in "/minecraft/resources".
2. Copy everything in "/DSTC/mods/required/The Deep Space Turtle Chase Experience/jar/" to "/minecraft/bin/minecraft.jar/".
6. Sound mod installation (optional; may cause game crashes):
1. Copy everything in "/DSTC/mods/extra/Sound Mod Enabler (UNCHECK IF YOUR GAME CRASHES)/jar/" to "/minecraft/bin/minecraft.jar/".
7. Saved game installation (only for single-player):
1. Copy everything in "/DSTC/mods/extra/Deep Space Turtle Chase - Part 1/" to "/minecraft/".
8. Fix for game crashing when walking through first door (in response to this message):
1. Look at this response to the problem.
9. Enjoy Minecraft!

Personally, the music in the installer is one of the best parts for me.

idk how to downgrade my version of minecraft, how do I do that, I think that's it because it won't install.

Never knew the map would be like this, of course the puzzles were really frustrating but it was so cool XD

mods are no longer needed cause of the new 1.6 update!

So does this work on 1.6 or do I still need the mod?

I wish SOMEONE would update this map! I want to play this with my friends on a server!
