The Meaning of Life, the Universe, and Everything.
Absolutely THE BEST MAP EVER!!!! I give it a 5/5, 10/10, best of whatever rating systems are out there, and I'm not even finished XD! I love how they changed the sounds to the space theme, how they used Minecraft physics to their advantage, and just about everything, really. But I just can't help noticing that the GUIs used for the Texture Pack are from Glimmar's Steampunk... Once I found some furnaces, and the GUI for them looked identical (even though I'm probably not supposed to see them as furnaces lol), but that is like my favorite texture anyway. Oh, and I like how you did the log-pipes.
Map Rating: 5/5 s
These ratings will also apply to the 2nd part, if it ever comes out.
Check out my Zelda Adventure Modpack, currently in alpha!
Look at my avatar. A few of you may know what this is from. Most will not. Probably because it shut down several years ago. But those were fun times while they lasted.
To anyone who can't get this to work, I may have a solution.
If you still can't play, this may work (thanks yiker!):
When you force updates in Minecraft, the Soundfiles aren't extracted at first, you have to trigger them once, until they can be found in your .minecraft/resources Folder. If they aren't triggered and you run the installer, triggering a sound will let Minecraft try to extract a sound, which probably interferes with the mods and lets it crash.
This, turns out was my problem. Now I will list the steps I took to solve it.
Note: This will only work if you have played MC previously, this is to ensure that the Resources folder will have all the sounds. So if you have no backup minecraft or are completely new to Minecraft, do the thing below: To prevent this, after forcing an update in Minecraft you have to run around in any normal vanilla map and trigger all the different sounds, for walking on different materials swimming etc. After that, you can run the installer and it will not crash.
Otherwise do this:
1). Backup Minecraft:
-Open the Roaming folder
-Copy and paste the entire .minecraft folder to the desktop into a new folder. (This is to be safe, plus you are going to need the Resources folder for later).
2). To ensure a completely clean minecraft.jar, DELETE the .minecraft folder (Yes you will lose your mods, duh).
3). Open Minecraft, login and it will re download i.e. "Update" itself.
4). Shut downMinecraft
5). Open the new .minecraft folder and delete the entire Resources folder
6). Open up your backup .minecraft folder then copy and paste the Resources folder from there to the new .minecraft folder
7). Use Nostalgia to downgrade to beta 1.8.1
-It will show as b1.8.1 in MCNostagia 8). Run the Deep Space Turtle Chase Installer 9). Open Minecraft, open Texture Packs, select the Deep Space one, then go to singleplayer and select the map. Play it.
Hope this makes sense and helped. If it doesn't make sense, ask a question.
This map looks amazing, could you please add a .zip?

You damn fool. You plan to steal the most coveted sword from the world's safest place and then be chased by the ultimate hunter to an enemy country in the middle of a war in which any side would happily kill you as a spy, a traitor, a wytch, or all three. -Durzo Blint
would it be possible to make a vannila server version? for those who want to play with friends but don't want to mod their server (or in my case, have to revert my entire server folder, and my .jar, and have my friend do the same)
