MCEdit is finally working for me again, and after a flash of inspiration and motivation that involved digging up some creative stuff from my early childhood (I was one crazy bugger then), I am finally back to mapmaking. I've got some stuff done on my next map (which is not Seven Sins, but I'm planning on digging that back up as well), but it's very early on in development, so I'll be releasing little bits and piece of other things in the mean time.
The Asterak Collection:
Extremely Malevolent is a Complete the Monument series, in which you hunt for wool and other items which are hidden around the map. This map is HEAVILY influence by the Super Hostile series, by the legend that is Vechs. The maps in this series take place in a variety of different environments, difficulties, and styles, in a hopes that a variety of very different people may all find something here to enjoy.
This map is HEAVILY influence by the Super Hostile map, Kaizo Caverns, by the legend that is Vechs. Various caverns in the map range anywhere from freebie to rage-inducingly unfair as far as difficulty goes. My first and probably my best map so far, Asterak Caverns is as good a map as I could have hoped for to start the series with. I put quite a bit of time and effort into this map, and I'm very happy with the result.
I've provided a plethora of optional monument goals, so that you can choose your own level of completion.

#2 - The Undersea
Theme: LAVA SEA
Difficulty: I refuse to rate this map's overall difficulty, because of how drastically the difficulty changes based on where you go and what you do and how, and all in what order.
Design: Open world/dungeoneering
Status: Finished! Version 1.1
This map is HEAVILY influence by the Super Hostile map, Sea of Flame, by the legend that is Vechs. Various dungeons and areas in the map range anywhere from freebie to rage-inducingly unfair as far as difficulty goes. Made in just four days, this map is probably not as good as Asterak Caverns, and I'm not so sure about my decisions as far as terraforming goes, but I'm satisfied with the map in general.
None yet. Check back later, or play the map yourself and post pictures of the monument as you've completed it, and any other evidence that you've put my map to shame!!
Looks good!
One thing I will suggest, that isn't related to map-making, is to downsize your screenshots before uploading. They're absolutely huge, and not everyone has huge 1920x1080 screens. Try resizing them to 800x600 so they're easily viewed by everyone, including people with tiny 14-inch laptops. *hint hint*
Can't wait to be in the closed beta! Also, Zap, you can live with the high resolution photos, it's more annoying to look at a tiny photo on a big screen than it is to look at a big photo on a small screen. Trust me.

Yes, closed beta starts tomorrow (23-9-11), no Valve time this time.
And as far as the photos go, the Minecraft Forums page only extends a set distance laterally, so it really is more annoying to have the screenshots too large, especially in spoilers where they're not resized.
I tried once.
Your videos are better.
I try to keep too much in.
And then I accidentally deleted the video.
Also I need to do it on your computer because mine can't do video anyway.

Well, feel free to use this computer, I can usually stop what I'm doing and hand it over if you ask. I can also do the editing, but keep in mind that I'm harsh about what gets put in and kept out. If I don't feel like something benefits the video in any way, it doesn't make the cut, mainly because I like to keep the videos as short as possible, for the viewers' sake.
Got to intersection 1, put white wool into place. Then punched myself in the face because I didn't take the workbench in the first cave. Decided to go get the workbench. Died because a skeleton shot me into lava. Ragequit and deleted the map.
It's always like that for me in theese CTM maps....can't someone make an easy one for once? :sad.gif:
But that would defeat the point.
Don't worry though, I didn't take the workbench either... I also lost a couple of my sticks. I managed to survive.
There were a lot fewer sticks in beta I think.
He said he'd add more in the full version.

I'm actually working on an easy CTM map right now, although it's still got quite a ways to go until it's ready to be released.
Spawned in fire... Went through first cave easily. Only one injury (spider decided to push me down a in cave cliff)... Got white wool. I think I missed something but I rushed to the intersection anyway. Found magenta wool, only having one heart attack from an incoming spider. Got orange wool after several hundred creeper battles... XD This map is extremely fun! I'm excited to continue. TYVM

What if I made videos of it?Would you edit them for me?
I'm bad at editing videos.
That'd be cool.Sure.

Glad you like it!
You are a most adorable mountain goat. But just remember, sprinting depletes your health VERY quickly.
