I kind of just noticed that I didn't see any pass it ons for 1.8. So I decided to make one. If you don't know what a pass it on is, here's an explanation that is copy and pasted from another pass it on I made:
Explanation
First, someone creates a pass it on, like me. First, the person who made the pass it on creates a world. They might make a nice little hut at the spawn point, or put some signs around or something. Then once they have their uncomplete world, they let someone else download that world. Once that person downloads it, they are allowed to do anything they want for a specified amount of time stated by the creator. Usually the amount of time is two or three hours, but sometimes it's four. So then, in their limited amount of time, they usually try to do the best possible thing they can. Maybe make an awesome castle, or make a house, or a cactus farm, or anything that they want. Or they could just be very useful, and spend all of their time collecting materials such as ores and wood.
But then, once their time is up, they have to stop playing that world, and let someone else download it. Then the next person that downloads the map can do whatever they want, and then once they're done, they can give the world to someone else. Then the world improves in many ways, due to the sometimes huge amount of people participating in it, making the world more and more awesome.
Pictures
This is the spawn point. It's a pretty lame spawn point, but whatever.
This is the surroundings of the small spawn point pit thing. It's basically a huge swamp.
At the edge of the swamp, is some other trees on the other side of the water, and a huge ocean to the right of this picture.
There's also a big cave nearby. The swamp is basically completely flat, too. So it's a really good spot for building.
Rules (you should read this):
1. To download the map, and claim that world as yours for a limited amount of time, you must reply to this thread saying "Taken". Once you say that, you can play on the world, and nobody else can take the map after you do it.
2. To return the map, you have to upload the map to a website such as mediafire.com, or anything like that. Once you do that, copy the download link for the map you just uploaded, and reply to this thread saying "Returned" and add the download link in that same reply as well.
3. You only have 3 hours to do what you want in the world. Keep track of the time once you post a reply saying "Taken", because if you play over the time limit, which is 3 hours, anyone else can take the map that you just took. Of course, only the limit is 3 hours. You can do it for as long as you want, even for like, 10 minutes, or 2 hours. Doesn't matter. You just can't go over the limit. Also, if you wish to take the map again, you have to wait 30 minutes before doing so. If you just returned it, then took it immidiately, that wouldn't give anyone any time. If you take it about 2 minutes after you return it, it won't count.
4. NO CHEATS AT ALL!!! That includes singleplayer commands, TooManyItems, or anything that would give you an advantage to building, or getting anywhere faster. You need to do everything the normal way. I'm not actually expecting this pass it on to continue without someone using zombe's modpack or something, but I can't do anything to find out if anyone did that, or to stop it. So all I can say is please, just don't use any cheats even if you use them a lot in other worlds, or in your server. Just play minecraft the normal way, and hopefully that won't be too much of a problem for you.
5. You should post a change log of what you did in your 3 hours, so people know what to expect once they download the world. Example: "Found a huge cave. Found about 7 diamonds. Built a storage room. Collected wood from the tree farm."
6. You can use anything leftover in your inventory that the last person had, and anything you find in chests that aren't hidden.
7. Play on hard mode. If you're gonna do this, everyone needs to be on the same difficulty to make it fair.
8. If you die before your time is up, you can just respawn and continue playing if you'd like. If you dropped anything critical (like diamond / gold / Nether blocks / anything else valuable) try your hardest to get the stuff back.

How to upload your save file
First, create a mediafire account, obviously. You actually don't have to have one if you don't want, but I would recommend it. You can follow these steps even without a mediafire account. But once you have your mediafire account, simply go to the main page of mediafire, and at the top left corner of the screen, you should see a button that says "Upload". Now it should come up with something that says "Select files to upload". Find the file you want. But then, you'll want to make a winrar file. To do that, just right click on your desktop or something, and you should see something that says "New". Just click on that, and then click on "WinRAR archive". Now you've created the winrar file. You can name it whatever you like. Now, open the new winrar archive, and just drag the save file you want into the new winrar archive. Now, open up the mediafire.com thing that you had open before, and click on the yellow box that says "Click here to select files or drag and drop files here" Now simply find the winrar archive that you just made with the saves file in it, and drag and drop the winrar archive into the yellow box, and click "Begin Uploading Files". Now just wait for it to finish. Once you're done with that, you can close that, and you should see the file you just uploaded in blue text. Click on that, and copy and paste the download link into the forums.
Mission accomplished.
You don't actually have to make a winrar file. You can make a .zip file as well. It might say something like "7-zip archive". I don't really know, and I don't feel like checking. Most people prefer .zip files, though.
Enjoy. I can't wait to see what everyone does. I hope this works, too. Please tell me if the download link doesn't work, or if I did anything wrong. Thank you.
Wow, I'm an idiot. I have no idea how I didn't know that. It looked like a jungle. Yet, I've been obsessively looking up information on 1.8 for a few weeks now. :sleep.gif: Sorry.
Although I would love to do this, I'm relatively new to pass it ons, and I dont know how to re-upload.

Hope that helped. I copy and pasted that from my other pass it on that I made.

I figured it would be something like that, But I didn't know if there was some SUPER SECRET BUTTON OF SECRECY for pass it ons or something... Alright, ill probably watch this...
This will PROBABLY be totally dumb of me asking, but do you know if I can just download the file to have a bit of fun on it with my friend? We are not going to go into this pass-it-on, just **** around on the world a bit :L

Nah, that's fine. It's really simple. I don't know if you've done this, but if you don't have a server, it's sort of complicated to set a server up.. But yeah, if you have a server, and haven't done this before, just search on how to put a custom map into your server. If you don't have one, tell your friend to search it, unless he already knows.
Ive been cutting ALOT of trees and gathering to make a big town wall almost done. i also found a unexplored cave in the town + if you go out from the wall you'll se torches leading to a small tower there's an ravine there okay so heres the dl link :smile.gif: happy minecrafting http://www.mediafire.com/?r34b2a82qt7ej75
Also, if someone doesn't return the map in time, I'll announce that the map can be taken whenever anybody wants. If nobody takes it even after that person's time is up, then they still have a chance to upload the file.
Whenever i saw a pass it on i thought it was just someone spamming on the forums! But now that actually clicked one... i really like this! hee hee i'm so gonna get this!
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
MY NAME ON MINECRAFT IS BREATHER!!!!!! IT'S ABOUT TIME I CHANGED MY SIG! BEST TEXTURE PACK EVAR!
I've been watching anime as I was doing this so I didn't do anything major but basically what I have done is start working on my unfinished house, and since its made out of wood, i kinda cleared away most of the nearby forest area. I left what I had left of the wood in the chest the last person who had the save left and I put some iron, steak, and various things I found when I was exploring the cave that's in the walled off area.
PS You're allowed to go in my house but please don't grief anything...
