So I'm recently back into map making, and I'll continue to make maps now. Expect a new RFW-styled map coming up!

Along with the recent influx of CTM maps, Noobie present his own map series...
Hello! Noobie here, I've made a map series myself, and it's a CTM map! CTM refers to Complete The Monument. It was originally a genre started by Vechs, the creator of the CTM genre and the map series, Super Hostile. You had to find all 16 chests scattered around the map containing different coloured wool and a couple metal blocks and place them on a Wool Monument, and in this case, the Blockument. Vechs' map are very difficult, even for experienced Minecraft players, and I was inspired by them, so I created a CTM map series of my own.
All CTM map creators had this in mind: Difficulty
This map series will be made. 2 of the maps had been released, and meanwhile I work on new maps, more traps, you should try them out!
In my maps, you can try out either of this goals, or both at the same time.
Survive while trying to complete the Blockument.
In general there are 7 rules you would have to follow
1) Find and complete the Blockument.
2) Find wool in chests scattered around the map, do NOT use dyes or spider string for wools!
3) You may craft the Iron, Gold, Lapis, and Diamond blocks.
4) Use at least Easy difficulty, and never Peaceful.
5) Do not leave the boundaries of the map and go into normally generated Minecraft terrain.
6) Survive in any way you can think of. (Yes, you can mine, craft, and place blocks.)
7) You may use spider string wool and sheep wool to craft beds and other items, but not for the Blockument.
Maps come in several difficulties.
1) Easy
2) Average
3) Hard
4) Extremely Hard (ROMhack Hard)
5) Insane (ROMhack Insane)
Now, let get to the maps.
Collection of Maps
1. HostileCraft Original
2. HostileCraft 2 - Underground Hostilities
HostileCraft Original
Type: Linear Difficulty: Average Version: 1.0
The first CTM map I've ever made.
Looking for an easy map for beginners to CTM maps? This map is just for you!
Featuring an environment where getting resources is not that hard, while not that easy either! For example, getting your first tree down while getting attacked by zombies!
Also this map is designed for 1.7, I will update it to support enchantments and potion brewing as soon as possible.
Download link: Disabled until v1.1 is released.
Note: This map is not as good as the second map and lots of traps are broken. I'd highly recommend that you try the other maps first. This map has also lots of obvious sphere brushes and none of the terrain looks that natural. Please do not play this map!

HostileCraft 2 Underground Hostilities
Type: Linear-branching Difficulty: Hard Version: 2.0
In this world of brutality, everything is hell. Getting resources with unreachable spawners around, this map is the deal. In this world of darkness, finding the monument is hard, and finding the 16 coloured wool and 3 metal blocks with a lapis lazuli block is even harder.
In a world of sea, I mean frozen sea, fight and battle through a variety of 16 kinds of dungeons. The map features dungeon-style gameplay, and is relaxing to be considered a HostileCraft map . Also, this is the first map that I made that has content in the Nether and also in The End (The dragon is killed)... So enjoy!
Type: Multiplayer Difficulty: PvP based difficulty Version: 1.0
My first try at making an RFW map for multiplayer. I call it "HostileCraft Battle". 2 teams will compete to get all their coloured wool and fill their Blockument before the other team does! And during that, expect intense arrow fire and TNT cannons between the two teams!
Type: Multiplayer Difficulty: Average with PvP Version: 1.1
I saw couple of RFW maps and I decided to give a unique theme to my own RFW map, a Nether themed map. Expect to see lots of lava and PvP gameplay while collecting resources to blast the other team.
If you would ever do a let's play, I am truly welcome and please post it in this thread. It would be highly appreciated

Also, leave a comment if you have any suggestions for future maps and I worked on these maps for a very (very) long time and so if you do not download my map, leave some feedback at least!
Edit: I don't like your wool monument because its not clear where the wool is supposed to go (maybe its just me). Also I knocked down a few signs when I was digging it out. Maybe use something other than dirt in the monument?

Other than that it is good so far. :smile.gif:
Thank you for your feedback! I helps me a lot in the making of my second CTM map!
fairly good map, havent gotten that far i kept dieing after a respawned. It seems impossible to get back to my stuff, nice job nearly as good as a super hostile map, btw what program do you use to make map

I use MCEdit rarely to import some schematics of traps in Vech's CTM Toolkit (BTW, I use it), and WorldEdit (in game mod) to make terrain and shape the world.
Great! Thank you for downloading! The story is just to make the map more interesting :smile.gif:
Except it doesn't at all, noone will bother thinking about a story that doesn't fit in with the map at all while playing the map,let alone if the story is never referenced in the map itself.
Now,onto the map itself.I've been playing the map for a while now,it's pretty fun.

I've played it a bit for now,it's quite fun.
Yeah, the story's unnecessary. I just put it there for fun :smile.gif:
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the map.
Yay! HC2 Work in Progress! Gonna be a tough and hard one... HEHEHE...
Some updates:
HostileCraft 2 is going to be an underground linear-branching map.
The Blockument for HostileCraft 2 is not going to be easy.
Every single wool in HostileCraft 2 is going to be tough.
HostileCraft 2 is probably going to be 5 times bigger and harder than HostileCraft Original.
I just recently made a HORROR adventure map with AdventureCraft and
man I could just make what I wanted with custom sounds in it and lots
of other crazy stuff.
It came out amazing and I have worked so hard that map that I ask of you
if you just can take 2 seconds to look at my forum topic about my map.
Name of the map is: Dark Castle 2. See for yourself and try to play it without
getting scared because it can be pretty scary.
This looks interesting, I might try it. I like the story idea, I've tried a bit of story in my own maps and it turned out well, but honestly, you can't make much of a story in a CTM map. :tongue.gif:
Also, make sure you hide your brushstrokes. From all the pictures I can see it has a very regular look to it all. Try using rough brushes, or the smooth feature in MCEdit to give it a more organic look. If you've tried any of my maps, you'll see you can very rarely tell when I use brushes. This makes the player take the environment a little more seriously. You always have to think about the player.
So I'm recently back into map making, and I'll continue to make maps now. Expect a new RFW-styled map coming up!
