I'm having to agree with the idea of these islands.. spreading items around really only adds to taking longer to collect them all and now having a long bridge to connect to it.
The sand island is annoying, you can't even touch it unless you use a watervator to make a platform under it to mine it... It was very annoying to having spent a lot of time on the first play through and having the whole thing fall.
Now on the 2nd and after making a bridge and stopping it one block from the island, was able to reach the chest and grab the items to take back and start my farm. I left the end of the long bridge with out torches and blocked it off to make a semi mob spawnner until I make a real one. So I have a collection of bones, string, and other mob drops.
I haven't even messed with the nether yet and I'm pretty much set, I'm guessing the nether chest had the other waterblock, bonemeal and string yes? So in a sense I don't have to erect the portal unless I want that water block for the inf watersorce... so there does not seem to be any real reason to go in aside that.
Also, the challenges to make animals spawn should NOT be included. That is a bug. Normally animals are spawned with the chunks, but you removed them with MCedit. There is a slim bug that may make the animals assigned to those chunks load up once you move away and return, 'reloading' those chunks as you come closer.
In the end, I did the same things on this that I did with the 1.1 version, only difference is it having taken longer to collect all the items.
I would have loved to see you having add in the new grass block for the mushroom biome. Maybe just ONE block of it with a goal to have x smount of it... it be something else to manage along with the grass and could be used in creative ways for a mushroom farm.
No challanges still for making x amount of fences/sighs/tables thats been suggested a few times.
The only new challange to this map really is making the portal light with the wood blocks and lava, and trying to make a platform under the sand island so you don't lose all the sand.
Over all nice try, but think you could have done better,
and once again for people who can't check ;P (this needs to be added to the OP)
It is actually really easy, if the wood burns out before it lights, try again (though I've never had that happen to me)
The rest will be in spoilers, each step in a separate spoiler
First Step
First, set up the portal (I wasn't in SkyBlock for this, therefor had 14 obsidian not 10)
Second
Set up the wood, and a little barrier so the lava doesn't go everywhere
Third
Place the lava down, let it catch fire to one of the planks, then grab it back up
Fourth
Both planks should be burning..
Fifth
The portal should be lit, if not - try again
Hope this helped somehow, good-luck with SkyBlock :smile.gif:
TL;DR - Set up portal, put wood at base and back of portal, light wood at base, let it spread to back, BAM portal lit.

yeah I have rethought some stuff but its practically too late now.. :\ and the challenges you suggested are kinda too basic :tongue.gif:
this map is amazing has me and my friends thinking all the time on what to do next and shiz i love it after the 16th re start we have gotten the hang :tongue.gif:
What exactly could I have done more? It probably increases the time by 5mins to get to the sand island, and making the island in the nether out of netherrack and soulsand would have been pointless, making it out of something like dirt would have made it look out of place. Again it takes a couple mins if you know what your doing to make the nether portal. I don't see why you are complaining about the length of time it takes to start off.
Im not sure what you could have done more (perhaps added more islands, that have items that are not in the V1 chest)
Im not so much complaining as just saying it seems pretty pointless to spend that extra bit of time for the sand and such... It is unneccesary. And adding in the nether thing - yeah good idea, but again kinda pointless.
Im sorry but to me the additions in V2 where kinda pointless (still love the map, Just I prefer V1 over V2)

Uhm... Most of the challenges are "basic" such as tree farm and ifinite water source.
The fences challenges and such would be similar to having to make 40 stone bricks, or 10 bookcases. Or paintings lol
More challenges just gives more reason to keep playing, and working on making more things!

Did my post help you out? Just take a second and click that little Green Arrow
ok so wtf you (NoobCrew) comes online and reply's to some of the questions but doesnt upload a mirror so we can download it wtf do you even care about the people that want to try this out.
I have a few suggestions. The first is kind of pointless but it would optionally add more difficulty to starting. Place some vines on the starting tree and some shears in the nether chest. If a player wishes to use the vines for decoration then they can't chop down the entire tree. That means they have to conserve wood carefully at the very beginning of the map and it would require some planning to start that second tree. The shears have no other use as a tool (unless the player gets sheep to spawn) and it will degrade with each use so The player can't use it carelessly.
The other request is to add an island of dirt. Or spread dirt blocks out randomly over an area. It should he difficult to get to. Maybe way below the starting height where it would be difficult to see where to go because of the bottom fog. It's something else that's completely optional (or maybe use less dirt on the starting island) but would be a good addition for players trying to get friendly mobs to spawn in. There's already plenty of dirt for farms.
You obviously hacked. You have more than 150 dirt blocks, mind explaining that when you can only have 77 for 1.1 and 80 for 2.1?
Do you like mmmmbananas?

EDIT: Nvm...
using 1.9.4
Edit:nvm

EDIT: Nvm you make a furnace then place wooden plank then wood on top
edit: never mind figured it out already ...
My download is working fine must be you.

A double negative. What you said is correct I downloaded both versions without any problems.
