hey, you know? I really like your map and all that, but I can not find the master emerald !! oh, and by the way, I hope you release the update soon , your map is cool and I would like to play it 100%, welp, bye!!
Recently, a friend of mine asked me to help update the resource pack for this map to 1.12, Before that request I didn't even know this map existed.
(shows how much attention I pay to the mapping community, as a server dev I don't usually have much time to look around here)
Anyway, I decided to go ahead and help out with the update project which eventually led to us playing the entire map. Loved the map and would hate to see this project abandoned, so I would like to offer up my command block and resource pack expertise even if it may be somewhat limited. I have already cleaned up the music system from 2 of the old resource packs to the point where you can play specific tracks with a command block, meaning that you can actually play the Green Hill Zone theme on Green Hill Zone.
If there's a better way for me to contact you please let me know as I would love to chat for a bit about the project and your plans for it, and if you are considering abandoning it I would be willing to take over work on the map.
So, I'm willing to bet at this point...it's pretty much dead. Which is kind of a shame, considering it was a lot of fun to play and such. If this ever does come back (maybe with Mania maps?), I'll be eagerly awaiting that day.
We'll see. I just have a lot of obligations in my life right now and there's just so much you can do with map making in Minecraft that I feel a bit overwhelmed by my options. Should I decide to revive the map there'll be plenty more features than there ever was before - I'd really wanna make the revival worth it. Mania zones will be inevitable. In fact, I just found a flow chart image on my computer I made just a few months ago demonstrating how I'd implement those zones into the map, as well as a few other zones.
So, basically, it's not being actively worked on right now, but never say never.
hey um i play yore map and i love it altho it is a bit to hard from chemical plant zone on but it can still be playd prity good ok down to the point it has been over a year sence you have updated it her is somthing you promisd

so wer is it im not saying that you are bad im just saying that you shud probably update it kk
I mean, I do have a life outside Minecraft. There's a reason it's been over five years since I last posted an update, I just don't have the time right now to focus on it. When I get in the mood to work on the map I usually don't get very far with it.
Keep in mind that I never "promised" anything. I said "maybe", I said "eventually", and I still stand by those words. Maybe you'll see something this year. Or maybe you won't. Just wait and see.
If this map does ever gets updated, would you mind if i did a youtube series on it? I think it's a really neat idea and I played the current version all the way through, which is the only reason I don't want to record it as is.

I have enjoyed your map for a very long time, since it's inception several years ago, and always eagerly followed the project up to it's latest update. I've even posted on this very topic with an abandoned account I no longer use from many years ago. I don't know what page it's on, but still.
It is such a shame that it's been so long since the last update, yet understandable with your obligations in life; I have things in life that I'm caught up with too. However, with the long time between the latest update to what might come in the future, I will always keep waiting for it.
It may not be much, but I wish to offer my help. Whether you will take that help or not, I do wish to update the map to add new visuals to the zones, and touch up on all the little things. I would even take the map under my wing and then give it back with full credit to you once it's done.
I understand that I stepped up with no map-making to this job skills to my name, so I don't expect you to trust me on this. But it would be an honor if I could pick this project up where you left off in your name.

i wud like to help too and i also have 1 to none in map-making skills. also im in a discord channel called the minecraft bunch btw no bleep words if there are 6 year olds that are sometimes online
After playing the map and thoroughly enjoying it I decided to make a fan-made Spin off . This may take some time due to a load of chunk errors as I decided to update the map to 1.14 for more materials I thought I would speak my mind and if asked to stop the project I will do so. After the editing for 1.14 I will finish the Project where it was left off and add zones from Sonic CD, Sonic Mania and potentially Mania Plus. My resurrection of the project has already begun for any who are interested I don't have a server for this project though so that may take some time as I don't have the resources to purchase a server. I'm also rebuilding the whole map from memory by hand causing the current estimate for re release to be around a year.
Hello. Here's an update on the status of SonicCraft.
Over the past three or four years I've received messages from a number of people asking if they can "revive" the project. I've always responded to these people with "no thanks, I'd like to finish the map myself some day" - but I'd never actually get around to working on the map. It just got stuck in a sort of limbo - I had all these ideas for the next version of the map but they were all too much to keep track of, too overwhelming a task to approach. To make matters worse, my free time was severely effected by life and I had other projects which took priority.
I admit that after such a long wait I'd be surprised if there were really that many people left holding out for a new version. To those of you that have waited this long, though, I hope that what I'm about to propose will be a sufficient enough reward.
"SonicCraft Beta" is no more. I may continue to release compatibility updates to make it work with the latest version of Minecraft (clearly, the fact that the latest SonicCraft version isn't compatible with Minecraft 1.8 let alone whatever version the game is on now is kind of rubbish), but they're not going to be the main focus of SonicCraft from now on.
Instead, SonicCraft is now... just "SonicCraft". Instead of continuing the map where I left off, I'm going to be starting again from scratch. I'll take certain elements from the gameplay of the original - there were plenty of things I really liked about that map - but overall the design of the map is going to be vastly different. Instead of trying to incorporate all of my ideas into each release, releases will be smaller and trickle out small amounts of content each time - so instead of six new zones per update, you'll probably only see one or two. I think this'll probably help the map in the long run because it's less likely that a release will end up heavily delayed like before.
The next release will be SonicCraft 0.0.1. I plan on including just Green Hill Zone and Marble Zone for the time being. Zones will be a lot bigger from now on, and they'll blend together better instead of being small walled-off areas in an otherwise untouched landscape.
Like my 2015 updates, textures will be a lot closer to the original games instead of 16x scaled down versions of the original textures. Over time I'll be incorporating a wider range of items into the game with more interesting uses than the relatively limited ones available to us before data packs became so advanced.
As always I'll put a tentative "eventually" on the release date of the first version. I hope you'll join me when it's finally released.
Hey! map creator I would like to use your resource pack on my minecraft map i'll give credit to you,so may I use your resource pack?

You planning on updating the project soon?
Eventually! But it won't be any time this year. Maybe next year!
