I really enjoyed this map! It was great thanks Jig! :biggrin.gif:
It very much satisfied my need to explore and get sidetracked, without letting me go off course, which I love in having in maps.
My only problem was getting the Axe, I didn't have it by the time I needed it on the last track, so I went and double checked all three posts and the cooling thing. and they were all done. So I went back to the library (I assumed that's where it'd be) and it wasn't opened up, (I had a peak to see if it was inside, and of course, it was. So I just grabbed it and continued ^^ Maybe I knocked out some wiring somewhere? Oops >,<
Other than that Brilliant map. I didn't save the town though :/ Now I feel like a horrible person. :tongue.gif: I may have to try it again to see if I can get another outcome at the end maybe? But even the ending I got was pretty fantastic.
I didn't get alot of the hidden chests because I was planning on coming back for them at the end once I had all the right tools.. But the ending I got somewhat prevented that ^^ And I didn't finish the parkour task because I am a major fail at jumping (y)
But my end results: Heads: 3 (pathetic really :wink.gif: ) Gold: 148 gold bars .. Is that good or bad, considering I missed so many hidden things, I assume its poor?
(I'm not sure what people mean by saying they filled rows? Have I missed something is or was it to do with my ending?)
Thanks again!
Rhibarb
Yeah that damn axe thing. Since your post, and someone else recently mentioned, there was a strange bug happening only at certain times. If someone played the map all the way through from start to finish it would be fine, but if someone stopped playing just before they did the cooling outpost, the signal wouldn't make it all the way to the redstone "brain" and cause the bug you saw there. I have recently fixed it though so it shouldn't happen anymore. Thanks for letting me know!
Also your score is pretty good for a first go. That's actually how much I expected most people to get on their first playthrough so I'm happy to see it! Also you don't have to start again! You can just go through the "Continue" door and continue your adventure. Just go and save more villagers (7 :wink.gif:) and go back on the soul station minecart track. You will then get access to the best ending.
The gold, you make into blocks and place into the explorers jar at the end of the adventure. Then you can see how well you did! Don't forget to post a screenshot here when you're done :smile.gif:
One of the best maps I've played. Noticed you used the Prelude of Light in the BRF room, by the way. :smile.gif:
It was prelude of light in the older versions, 1.85 and earlier. From Complete 1.0.0 it is a new song, I haven't seen anyone guess what the newer song is ;D Really nice score and thanks for the feedback!

I re-listened to it,and I believe it is the Bolero of Fire.
You, sir, are the best redstone wizard I have ever seen. The amount of work that must have been put into the redstone wiring of this map must have been massive! You made the plot very well, with the dynamic text that you used. That was one of the most original pieces of work I have ever seen. This map gets a 9/10 from me!
EDIT: Blacked out spots because it's illegal to show them. also, I GET A PAGE AAAAALL TO MY SELF
EDIT2: IF you can't figure it out, it's the mobs. The minimap shows them.
What's wrong with the mobs? There is nothing to fix. You don't have to kill them, nor do you have to go in there equipped like that. You could always wait until you have better equipment then try to raid it :smile.gif: Not sure how you have a bow and still using the wooden sword though o.0 did you miss the stone sword in the tool shed?

actually I, uh, cheated. there's a part there that's by-passable so I advise you made all walls 3 blocks high instead of putting a tree in the way. also, there's laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag
Did you intentionally make it possible to go inside the ruined mansion in the best ending because i found a way in and found a lot of chests with gold in them.

Lol so you cheated and want me to change it? xD People will cheat whether its 3 blocks high or 50 blocks high. I wont be changing things "just in case someone cheats" it would be impossible to make a map like that. If people want to cheat and ruin the experience for themselves, it's their choice.
This map is such a huge success in so many ways.
Perfect mapping, perfect story, dynamic events, a score, and much more I can't tell here - this is the best map I've ever played!
The only thing I've to criticize is that there's only one real sidequest - rescuing all the people, I wouldn't consider collecting gold ingots as a sidequest. In Eronev 2, I expect more questing!
Nevertheless, keep up the great work!
I would say the parkour is also a major sidequest which spans the whole map. But while I do like side quests, so far from all the LP's I've seen, and feedback is that in general if there is too many things to do, people get confused and lost as to what they're supposed to be doing. So it's quite a balancing act in that regard.
Amazing map. Still haven't finished it tough due to the incredible amount of lag im getting. The game freezes for like 10 seconds and then i can play for a minute or so and then it freezes again. It was fine in the beginning but know that im at the desert place its full of lag. This is the only map in which i lag btw. Anyone got any suggestions?
Yeah... the lag in the map has gotten a lot worse since 1.0.0. It's odd you would experience it in the desert though because there is only one major redstone contraption in that area. Maybe give optifine or one of those performance enhancing mods a go? Though I'm not sure what kind of effect that would have on the redstone circuits.

No, while I know people can get out of the map at the end by the park, I kinda hoped they would just let the ending play out instead of exploring, since earlier back there was the sign that said there wasn't any gold in the ruined village. Maybe I'll have to go back and block that off.
I tried this map a long time ago, and personally, I didn't like it. For me, it was very confusing.
I'm trying again, though. I remember the last time I tried it I rushed and treated it more like a linear adventure map. This time I'm going to actually explore my surroundings and try to be more involved in the story. I will add some gameplay notes as I go on following posts.
What I learned: NEVER rush though a good adventure.
-In the rules there doesn't seem to be a rule stating any required difficulty, I'll go with peaceful so there won't be any risk of creepers blowing up redstone.
-The bedrock in the tree looks pretty ugly, and the parkour challenge here lets you into the farm. I'm not sure if that was supposed to be that easy.
-I see some birch trees. I need to find that diamond axe.
-Ooooh, 3 gold ingots! Nice placement!
-Well, there goes my peaceful visit. That placement of TNT was EVIL.
-Too bad I can't take this redstone...I'll have to check out the pyramid later. More to come!

oh sweet, I look forward to this.
Funny that you mention how ugly the bedrock is. There is an npc in the village who agrees :wink.gif: As for difficulty, I wrote in the original first post to play with mobs on, as it's pretty easy without them... that said, creepers can have adverse effects on stuff so there is certainly no harm in playing on peaceful. There is really only one "zone" that references monsters, but there is spawners scattered around some places too.
Also I'd like to know how you feel about the changes since your original play through. I daresay there has been quite a number since then.
The first time I loaded it up i accidentally switched the world regions with the nether regions, and that looked a bit weird... :$
But i got them right the nixt time round but i spawned in the middle of an ocean with no land for hundreds of blocks...
any ideas why and could you tell me the co-ords of the spawn ffor the map
thanks

If my comment helped you in any way, or you have the urge to click something, click that little green arrow at the bottom of this post. Thanks...
I have a question. Are we allowed to use ender pearls to tp to parkour locations?
I guess I don't see why not. However in general the use of enderpearls can cause major negative consequences if you use them to access a place you're not supposed to have access to for example. So while technically you could, it's probably best not to.

I would delete the map and start over. I have no idea how that would happen.

Woo! Thanks so much for playing. I'm glad you enjoyed it that much :smile.gif:

Close but no cigar ;D It's one of those not so often listened to ones :smile.gif:

I played this on SMP with some friends, and besides [minor] problems worked great! Great story and well thought out.
Can't wait for Eronev2!
