Ah I see. I had a feeling he might have been dead the whole time, but there was no real indication to that. I get that you want to leave it up to people's imaginations, and I'm a big supporter of that, but I find that if you don't provide a solid base for your audience to base their imagination on, then you can pretty much take the ending in any direction. But perhaps I just fail to grasp that base from the hints you've given.
Also, I kind of dislike the reasoning for the memory thing. I mean I'm not trying to say it's dumb or anything, but it seems like the reason is forced in order to get it to fit with how the story progresses. Honestly, to me it shouldn't make a difference whether he retains his memories or not, because from what I understand, he is supposed to realize the amount of harm he caused others as a result of his actions, and the development of this guilt shouldn't really be hindered too greatly by his memories. Another thing is that he instantly retains all of his past memories as soon as he enters the portal again; a bit fishy if you ask me. But once again, I guess it could be explained that he only lost his memory to realize the wrong in his actions, and that going back to the "spirit world" so to speak, would allow him to recover those memories.
Anyways, in the end, I guess we are free to interpret this as we please, and once again, an aspect in any good story that I absolutely love. It's just that I dislike it when certain things occur without any hinted or implied reasons. Regardless, this map was still a good play through, and probably one of the few that actually make you think about the story after it's done, so for that you have my thanks.
Well in the end I am glad you enjoyed the map. I guess either way I got what I wanted, a map that is thought provoking, and I can see that worked. Thanks for taking the time to talk and debate on Levi's Nightmare, I appreciate the feedback.
This map looks great! ss3094 recommended it to me, idk if you know him lol, gonna download this now!!!
Sweet. Yes I do know ss3094. I actually just finished reviewing his map lol. Anyway, I'd be glad to hear what you thought of it!

No problem. Btw, I was wondering if you were thinking about doing a sequel (or prequel) for the map. Or perhaps even a completely different story altogether. If so, I'd be thrilled to give them a try, because honestly, I find that maps with a gripping story are rare to come across, yet it is the one aspect I really wish to see in adventure maps.
In any case, even if you aren't considering to make another map, I'll probably give this map another go. I predict that subtle signs that I hadn't made note of in my first play through may stand out if I go through them again, and will help me understand the events even better (as is the case in many great stories).
Well, he started talking about pre/sequals to this map, so, now that I'm in the mood, I'm gonna post my opinion on that in the spoiler. Don't read if you don't want to hear them, please.
When I first played this map (before the note that said they turned into zombies, the corpses), I first thought of the Resident Evil series. In those games, the se/prequals had little or nothing to do with the other games in the series. This map doesn't seem the type to do the same. You can't remake it from a victim's point of view because we already know what happens! And you can't really give a different story of Levi because, well, knowing how this map is shown, Levi would most likely be dead in the story again. Sure, you could do a Nether story or something, but it most likely make no sense and a forced Iron Man run! You see where I'm getting to?

I see where you're coming from. But I disagree that it isn't necessarily possible. Here's my opinion (spoilers reveal content of the story in the map, so don't ruin it for yourself if you haven't played through yet)
I definitely see how continuing the story in the Nether wouldn't be the best idea. I mean, at this point he's already come to realize his mistakes, so trying to develop a good story out of this would probably be very difficult. However, he could do a prequel map instead. For example, in his next map he could go more into detail about Levi's research, how it all started, etc; essentially we would be learning about what happened before the Levi and the townspeople died.
Also, I think it's very much possible to recreate the map in another character's point of view. For example, instead of making it so that Levi wanders through the town learning about how it all happened, we could play as one of the townspeople (my first pick would be his father), and we could see first-hand what they experienced. I mean, yes this map did outline what happened to the people in a fair amount of detail, however it was mostly just snippets from each of their lives put together; it wasn't focused on any one person specifically. So yeah, I personally think there are definitely ways in which you can extend the life of this story. With that said however, a map with a similar or dissimilar theme and a completely different story line wouldn't be a bad thing either. So long as the map and its plot are great, I really don't mind which path it takes.
This map is cool but the only thing I don't love is that it has too many spawn points for the mobs. On the other side though, it is cool because it does look nightmarish with the black spot thingie. Looks like floating gravel
Wait a minute, I just thought of something. Read the spoiler because the "something" is a spoiler.
If this whole thing started because Levi went into the Nether, where does the Bedrock come into play? There's no bedrock in the Nether, as far as I know.

It's not bedrock. It's re-skinned soul sand. When you hit it, it makes the same sound as sand being dug.
They can... They just follow the rules. :tongue.gif:
I think drago got the story and minecraft mixed up. I think when he read about how the people in story couldn't get rid of the growing disease, he made the assumption that they couldn't get rid of the blocks because it was bedrock. I don't think he realized that the townspeople not being able to get rid of the "disease" was just part of the story, and in actuality, anybody can destroy them.

Haha, well I wish I could show you, but unfortunately, I am not sure which ingot you are missing. :tongue.gif:
Great job finding that many though!

yes, and technically you can break the soul sand in Levi's Nightmare. But breaking it would be against the rules so....
Glad you enjoyed it!
Ok! I am excited to hear your feedback.
