Been playing this map earlier today. So far have gotten the orange wool, iron gold diamond and lapis blocks, and i think light blue or blue wool, not sure yet. Just so i know for future reference, In the plateu of Champions, if dogs are collectibles, is there like a slot there for the dogs too? Like a mastery monument of sorts.Anyway, looking forward to doing more of the map. I'm currently trying to map out the compound and holy crap is it big lol. So far ive just gotten through the doors and opened the iron doors but died when i tried to look into the digsite 2 i think? whichever one was condemned i fell in and died, sad story :[ Lost diamond axe and a bunch of bread and pork.

I read the readme and theres nothing really that i should have taken the time to read it, other then the secret thing. If i wasn't suppose to say what the collectibles were, i have to say others have already said it.

Thanks for playing. :smile.gif: Dogs are a kind of side-quest thing, but in the first map it is very vague on what you're supposed to do. The dog house/kennel isn't near or in the Plateau of Champions area. And yes, the Compound is very big. Originally, the entire map was just going to be inside that thing, but then I realized it would get very claustrophobic in there. Then the giant island was born. :ohmy.gif:

Without revealing anything , set your view distance to short . It helps on two levels - FPS is better that way and ,2 it helps the element of surprise which heightens much of the enjoyment to be had in map 2 . Nice one MistaGrinch !
Agreed. There isn't anything important to see just on the highway, so to get max fps you might as well have fog on. Also, mobs won't even spawn on the highway itself because it's made out of half blocks.

grinch that yelling was to a guy who didnt read the readme, ANd the other was because some jackass posted advertising on your map AND my map! you have no idea how much he pissd me off in PM whenm i tried working **** out.
If you were thinking of making a lets play for the first map, please just wait for the second one. Trust me when I say that it will be more enjoyable, and at this rate I should have it out soon. I can't say how soon, but soon. Most of my days involve working on the map for 2-5 hours, depending on what mood I'm in, and then preseason workouts. (Completely unrelated... it's for school sports.) But I'm honored that you want to!

I don't really care about there secrecy at this point, so I'll just tell you. There were originally just going to be dogs scattered around the map to help you out, but then I started numbering them and giving them names. After that I built a small "doghouse" in the middle of nowhere (look for something out of place in the desert... wink wink) which acted as a small sidequest if you wanted an extra challenge. The dogs are usually perched high up and therefore difficult to return them to their "original spots" in the doghouse. Just as a fun little sidething. :smile.gif: In my next map (which has a name by the way... I'm thinking Hells Highway sounds good) everything will be a lot more obvious. There is actually an entire exit dedicated to them.

That's what I'm hoping for. Although Vechs' maps are amazing, he has at least 2/3 of his audience/downloaders from the Yogscast after they watched their "let's play" (notice how it was in quotes...) of Canopy Carnage. He had a huge headstart, and I'm hoping a miracle will happen and the same thing happens to me. :smile.gif: Even a playthrough by Zisteau would be amazing. Besides, I purposely gave you some of the less extravagant areas so you are still blown away when it comes out.

One more thing- updated the post to make it a bit less clustered, and removed the poll. Also if you are interested in my progress on the new map check the first post, it has what I did that day. (I have been working on it today... just nothing was added to the actual map. Yesterday I finished five exits. Don't hate!) :cool.gif:
OK , cool news then . I is a happy Crazy man . And those areas you sent us weren't your best ????? Colour me gobsmacked then . I thought they were pretty damn good , dude . Oh and regarding someones earlier comment about the wolves and their kennel : I stumbled upon it purely by chance . It was some prickly protection that foiled some agro spiders . < zips lip > No more will be said so don't ask .
Nice map, and im PRETTY sure Vech's wouldn't die in a fire, considering he's from hell, map's so awesome and big my MC keeps crashing from all the leaves on the trees xD
EDIT: But yeah, java keeps crashing every few mins, someone mind telling me a fix D:?

Really sorry, it's the map. In the beginning the long sightlines and lots of trees cause pretty bad lag... some things to do (if you haven't already done them) to help is make sure you have fog on, fast graphics instead of fancy graphics, (if it still doesn't work) try original lighting instead of smooth lighting, and turn off view bobbing. Those last two are only if your computer absolutely can't run it. Sorry about this, the next map will hopefully improve on this. :smile.gif:

Can't wait to see what it is. That's the one thing I like about this better than Vechs is that you putthe time to make your structures look beautiful instead of just materials that are hard to break like brick or obsidian
