Well well! Coming from someone like you, that sure seems like an order to fulfill! Sure, quite a few people either commented or sent me messages regarding the update, but it's always equally fun to hear opinions from fully-fledged map-makers. I'm working on it, and will probably end up releasing a 1.2.5 version before 1.3 anyways... If I'm quick enough.
Say, your maps have trailers - how did you make them? I never got around to making one myself, yet always thought it'd have been relevant.
Well I can't wait for updated version, Monarch of Madness is the most impressive map I've ever played. Writing, puzzles, pacing, structures... all great.
I've used fraps and Windows Movie Maker to make my trailers. Recorded some in-game stuff, then edited it a little. Nothing special, but it's a good thing to have trailer and let players see something more than static pictures ;]
That impressive? Oh hush, it's just a single map. I wish I had the strength to make multiple good maps like most other makers! That'd really be something enjoyable.
And for sure! Pictures are nice, but they give away too little. Let's plays are great, but they give away almost everything. Therefore, a trailer seems like a good middle-point... I'll have to consider some way to make one. Isn't there a mod that allows very cinematic camera movements? I could have sworn I saw something like that a few months ago.
Edit: I just realized the thread now has over 500 posts. Between that, the 100 000 downloads, 1.3 and one year anniversary, that makes a lot of milestones. I guess I'll really have to give it my all, huh?
Lucky me, I was just accepted into the second map, I hope to help ( his name just slipped my tounge ) the sequel, even better than this one, but, no one knows what will happen.

Saw that, indeed! And you mean Fentom, I suppose?
Say, what were you recruited for? Writing, building, testing or wiring? Perhaps something else?
he said building, but i think he may have been mistaken. he said he loved the map, but i said i only helped build a tiny bit, i was mostly the writer and tester for it. he hasn't responded yet though. so i could actually NOT be on the team, but i'll just have to wait.yes i do mean Fentom. couldn't remember how to spell it.

Oh, you probably are on it. Summer just begun, so maybe it's a little difficult to get everything started when there are so many options available for some. Others had to face some issues - my dear aunt passed away from cancer right when my summer vacation began, which was really hurtful. One of the reasons why I haven't taken part in the second map yet, but not the only reason.
All I really want to do with the second, is check in on the story and make sure it follows a good road - the rest is up to all of you. I want to sit back and see what a large team can actually do! I'm sure it'll be great.

you have inspired me to do many things, which i am starting to do, i hope someday to become a map maker. you never know; if i do become one, you would most definitely be my inspiration.

Also, im sorry about your aunt.
Thanks, though I know she's in a better place now. And I most definitely hope you'll find what you enjoy doing! If map-making is something you enjoy, then by all means, work on it! The biggest reason I got this far, is because I always had fun working on maps. I wouldn't call myself professional or experimented by any means, but I enjoy it and hope to see more and more people get into it!
Alright everyone! Update is finally out! It took some efforts, blood and lots of bodies, but the 1.2.5 update is here at last! Help me by playing it, and report your findings afterwards! Have fun, and try not to die too much!
hey how do u add the achievements into your minecraft?? thank you
Unfortunately, you can't - not right now anyways. You'd need a mod to do that, but I don't know of any of them. Right now, it's pretty much just for bragging rights, and you could put them in your signature, for example.
I wish they added a feature to add more achievements, though! That'd be really neat.
Going to play today or tomorrow, I missed insanity and madness ;]
Hope you enjoy it! Try as much side-stuff as possible, to see what works and what doesn't! I'm never done, and still trying to find ways to fix some past issues! Heck, I just found a bug that was there since the earliest version, but which I didn't know about until someone told me about it...
Hey!
I'm from polish server poNland. I want to use your map as our pony university. Would you give me permission for this?
A... pony university? And what would that consist of? Because if you just want the building, not the map, you have to ask Revolvee, who made the castle schematic, . I bet that's more like what you want, since it's empty and doesn't have the whole story thing! If you do want the map with everything in it, however, then go right ahead - though in either case, I'd love to see what you'll make out of it!
Ah hello,
I, Lady Llamapants-Ful, have done a review on your map. I enjoyed it quite a lot, good job and thanks for the effort.
Regards,
Lady
And I enjoyed your review of it. Say, what kinds of problems did you face overall? And were there any suggestions you thought of, other than the ones in the review, which you could share? Any additions I could potentially make?
I love the map! Have you any links for the other ones that you made?
( the first "have you any" is from baa baa black sheep. )
Weeeelllllll, there's one called "Memories of Darker Days" I made a few months before this one. You should be able to find the thread somewhere, and if not, here's a link to whatever the latest version was. It honestly wasn't all that great to me, even though Rsmalec gave it a higher score at first than this one. It might be broken in more than one way, so I suggest having SPC or some similar mod while playing it, just in case.

I think I covered everything in the video. Most of my problems were caused by FRAPS and my low end hard drive. I am fairly new to the whole video stuff and I am starting to realize my computer is a little dated.
As for additions, I got nothing. It was a good way to kill an evening.

Yeah, as for FRAPS and low end hardware in general, I can relate. It's the main reason I can't really make videos.
And if it helped kill some time, it did its job! Maybe the next map I'll make will be survival, just to make something a little different... But I'll be sure to keep a touch of madness in it, because I feel like it's the element I should stick to.
Hey The_Forgotten, me and my friend made a playthrough of this map and wanted to let you know! (Its not uploaded as of 7/6/2012 because my editing software trial ran out) Just wanted to let you know! Our channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/DwarvesFilms/featured
