all the links have stopped working you need to fix this
I'm flattered you cared enough to warn me, but I've tested them thoroughly and they all seem to work. You clicked on the right ones, yes? Inside the spoiler tags under the "download" option? The newest downloads and the oldest ones are all downloadable as far as I'm aware. Maybe you must give it a few tries.
im trying to play this with a friend of mine, and we keep spawning on top of the castle. help?
I have honestly never played a map on a server, so I can't explain much about it. But I've seen innumerable playthroughs of people who played it on multiplayer, and they were at the right place. Just try to scale down from a spot to another, and jump down without dying to one of the two wooden bridges north and south of the main building. From there, you can get to the start with the wall of text and pool, and just give yourselves bed to reset your spawn.
Was he just the Monarch of Madness?
Or did he curse the castle beacause the Monarch was killing everyone?
Nice to know who he really was
And why he cursed the place.
Also I think you should add the most recent download link before the spoiler so its in plain sight
I think I'll do just that with the download link, as soon as I get the 2.0 version out! Thanks for the tip
About the wizard: There are some questions I'd rather not answer myself, because I let the map speak for itself. However, in this case, I understand there isn't the proper info anywhere for you to form your opinion on it... That's what the upcoming final release is for. I've added some story-related things in both parts of the map, and a lot is mentioned there. If you care to look back tomorrow or in two days, you could try to play through it again - with some mods, of course I recommend simply no-clipping your way to the first floor of the map (the one with the library and the kitchen), then look for the wizard's quarters and the courtroom. Then, go to the obsidian chapel and visit the two new parts of it.
Afterwards, just visit the same places in the Nether, with the sole exception of the chapel: the new is in the Ghast House!
Alright - latest update is out! Last one that adds any sort of content anyways. Update includes:
- Compatibility with Minecraft 1.2.3.
- Courtroom near the blacksmith and shop in the real world.
- Wizard's living quarters near the Piston-ception.
- Two new areas in the Obsidian Chapel.
- The Ghast House in the Nether is now actually something.
- Jail near the blacksmith and shop in the Nether.
- Wizard's living quarters in the Nether, same place as the ones in the real world.
- More hidden credits.
- More madness.
- The amazing Reset Box (TM)!
- Minor fixes and tweaks.
- No more castle spontaneous combustion (hopefully).
Anything I missed? Anything still broken? And what are your thoughts?
I'm actually gonna host a server featuring this map. Would you like to join it, by chance, Forgotten? (Or any others wanting to!)
EDIT: Just as a quick response to your "Skip to 3" I believe I know why: It is so awesome it just skips the number 2.
Hosting the map on a server? To play through it, or just for survival? As nice as that is, I'm not much of a multiplayer person. Granted, that's mostly because my Internet connection and computer are both less than stellar, but I don't usually join servers when I know I might be forced to quit unexpectedly quickly. Sorry, because although I'm flattered, I don't want to risk disappointing folks!
And well, it's either that, or just the mere addition of the reset box. That thing deserves its own update...

I am having the same issue except there is an invisible barrier blocking our way into the spawn. We have to break the roof to get in, and even then we are stuck in that room. Also, when we try to sleep it says you can only sleep at night.

An invisible barrier? I don't see what it could be. There used to be a glass roof over the whole map, but I took it out a while back. Just break through as far as you can, and don't read anything you find until spawn...
As for the beds, you can indeed only sleep at night, so wait for night time.
Ya... i MAY or MAY NOT have set fire to a certain "OUT OF ORDER" tree to see if it led to goodies and MAY or MAY NOT have set the entire castle a blaze....

Well, I MAY or MAY NOT have a solution to that problem.
Most definitely not, in this case. Well, that's the kind of stuff that happens when you get curious... And to say Notch had once said fire had been nerfed... Pfft. In any case, either re-download the map and avoid using a flint and steel when unnecessary, or manually take out the fire.
You can download the version that's already there - it was updated for 1.2.3, and there aren't enough differences between .3 and .4 or .5 to make a new version. It'll still work
Another map? Well, this was my second one, and I spent a lot of time on it... But considering my time and hardware limitations, it might have been my last for quite a while. It was fun to make and maintain, although it sure was a lot of work. I could consider making another map or two, but not in the near future, that's for sure.
If I was going to begin another one, it'd preferably be with a friend or two, and I do have a lot of folks interested in such a project. Don't raise your hopes up, but don't rule it out either.

Glad you had fun! Any problems encountered? I want to be sure the next release is really the last, and doesn't need more bug fixes

It's all good. ^^ Thanks for the response.

I highly recommend the first method.
