Some cool stuff coming. Expect it somewhere between next week and 2 weeks from now. Here is the log so far.
1.1
-Modified lava area of "The Desert Race"
-Added lapis protection system to "The Desert Race"
-Added test 6 and 7 (To be completed)
-Fixed a minecart booster track not being powered in the checkpoint to The Mine
-Fixes to Test 3
-Epic conclusion (To be completed)
Before you complain 7 tests isn't enough, I will tell you this. There is more than 2 tests coming. And yes it's only test 6 and 7. Good luck figuring that out. :wink.gif:
You wake up in a cold place. You notice you are in a cell. A notice is posted on the wall. After reading it, you now realize one thing. They are coming for you. One thing rushes through your mind. Escape. As your journey to freedom progresses, you must be careful not to alarm any guards. Other subject's journals are your only resource, but they can make a difference between life and death.
Readme is in the .zip. Make sure to read it! Also, post your scores here!. Also, I would very much appreciate anyone who can make a banner.

Beta 1.0:

-Currently has 5 tests + prologue / beginning story
A 2 part series by I_KNOW (Minecraft Name) / DumbBond (Youtube Name). They missed the beginning as the spawn point is different from the start point, but that's ok. Also in the second video, the block was supposed to be there. They just burned the sticks they needed.
Interesting, fun and challenging map, i did cheat, i'm sorry, i tried not to :sad.gif:
I only cheated to regive myself the lapis that i kept losing whenever i died in the lava and anywhere else, i also gave myself a redstone torch after dying in the mine, cos i got too greedy, and well, the greedy path led to a long arduous mining task that eventually led to my death off the bottom of the map, and i figured that i wanted to see what was actually through the 'exit' door.
Other than that, for a beta version it worked quite well, though i don't remember any instructions saying i was allowed to burn wool, so i must have spent a few minutes in my cell before i finally gave up, tried 10 times before finally the gravel gave me the flint :smile.gif:
Also burnt the cell for the other prisoner, cos i didn't see any instructions about not being allowed to burn wooden fence posts.
The 'orange' text file has nothing in it, i dunno if that was an oversight or meant to be like that.
The redstone room was awesome, i saw the TNT there and had thoughts running through my mind about making sure i did not activate it by accidentally turning a redstone circuit on that i shouldn't, still, it's not all the time you get to play a custom map that has an engaging redstone logic puzzle in it, and i commend you for that.
In its beta state, i give this map a 9/10, improve the instructions, and finish the map, and i'll give you that extra 1/10 mark :smile.gif:

Thanks! I'll fix those few things in the 1.2 Beta version. Thanks for pointing all this out! Anyway, the TNT falls into water btw. I think I will make that more noticeable. So yeh, orange should have stuff in it, I shall fixeth that! Also going to add list of burnable things. Forgot about that. Anyway, how did you even die in the mine? I thought I made it, like, impossible to die? And yeh I expect people to go through the greedy place, it just makes it feel more "evil" I guess. The regular exit is just direct path to exit and actually has less lapis. :wink.gif: How much lapis did you get anyway? *Starts working on Beta 1.2*
Nice map. Took me ages to get out of the cell as I didn't realize we could burn wool. And the cactus/lava maze was awesome, as was the redstone. I did have to minorly cheat at one point because idiot me hopped into the "key card" and had to break my way back out once I realized what was going on. Also, I found squids in the other two cells :tongue.gif: I don't think that's supposed to happen.
And I felt incredibly intelligent for not taking any ore. :smile.gif:
(and for the record I came out with nine lapis...nothing re-given).

More levels? Please?
Yeh I just added the burnable rule to the text file in 1.0_2. Forgot to add that before. And yeh, squids spawn sometimes because of the little pond / pool / whatevers in their cells. More levels are coming btw. Also, adding you to the high scores now.

I did have to re-upload 1.0_2 because idiot me forgot to add the files to the zip file before uploading it XD good thing no-one downloaded it before I re-uploading the fixed zip. :tongue.gif:
After many playthroughs (After I died a few times I just put like 15 copies in my saves folder) I think I have found all the lapis. In all I got 35 on my best playthrough, and I was greedy :unsure.gif:
I'd like to see more redstone puzzles, that was my favorite, but a bit too easy, all in all I'd say this map rates on the easy side, but the lava was a bit annoying, that was the only thing I died to.

OK, after many people thinking the lava was a bit annoying, I'm going to make it a tad easier. Also yeh, the first redstone puzzle was supposed to be challenging, but not too hard. The difficulty inclines as it goes further on. Newer challenges I'm making are getting harder. Also, I originally designed it (Before Beta 1.0 even) so that you HAD to be "greedy" in order to proceed (The exit said "I don't think you collected enough ore to prove yourself worthy"). I then decided to make it optional to take the exit, but as being "greedy" is pretty much suppposed to happen, I added some lapis there. High score added.
Anyway, how did you even die in the mine? I thought I made it, like, impossible to die?
I got greedy, nice trick by the way, hiding the redstone torch where you did. When i entered the greedy room, you gave me a small amount of supplies, and then there was a small spot with water in it, i figured you had to dig down, so i made myself a trusty diamond pick using the workbench and got to work.
I couldn't breathe for very long, so would make small air pockets that i could climb up into, ended up punching through the very bottom of the map and dying in the void :sad.gif:
I did notice a very high mineshaft space above that water, but couldn't figure out how to get up to it.
Also, when i hit the lava spot and died the first time, i had 13 lapis on me, that i collected legitemately.
As for the cactus room, absolutely loved it, i missed the door the first time, had to go back down and retrigger it, then the second time (which was when i actually died in the lava) i tried taking a shortcut and missed, 3rd time i decided it was safer to just go the long way around :smile.gif:

SPOILER ALERT:
To get up the mining shaft, make a bucket and place water above you. Then swim up, and pick it up and put water up higher. Repeat to get to the top.

bugger, i didn't think of that one, though i wasn't given any iron in the greedy room, so i guess i would need to somehow craft a furnace (with stone that i don't have) to get the iron ingots so that i can make the bucket.
i'm almost certain the chest in the greedy room didn't give them, if i recall it gave me a couple of sticks, 4 planks to make a workbench, and some coal.
will have to play the map again though to see if i missed anything in that room.
ok, there was indeed cobblestone in the chest, not coal, i mined the coal.
now i can actually finish the greedy section...
ok, got up to the top, but now i am stuck, i thought if i made a minecart using my remaining 5 iron i would be good to go, but i don't have any rails to place it down on, so that kinda ruined that idea.
I have 16 lapis so far, i lost the first amount i got to the lava yet again cos i can't seem to work out how i make the jump when i do successfully make it (never been really good at those long jumps like that in minecraft).

Hmmm... Time to download the Monster Spawner changer mod. Hehe. Anyway, what's the all impossible creeper jump?

Well, I guess someone DID download it before I fixed the upload. Sorry about that, download it again. There's actually stuff in it now! Hooray!
