OK, this one should not have been available for download until you worked out the objectives. There’s ZERO need for survival on this map. Plus it’s not been updated to 1.66 so there’s no way (unless it’s hidden) for anyone to get seeds, and there’s no reason to even bother making a wheat farm because if you play on peaceful as the op suggests, then why do you need food? Nothing is going to hurt you.
I was so hyped to see something different but again, the objectives didn’t fit the map, and they’re just copies of what everyone else does. It’s really disheartening to see clones every time a new map is posted, especially one that hasn’t even been tested yet.
The map creators are named that for a reason, creativity. You must have some creativity when you set out to design a “survival” map. First of all, you need to feel like it’s a survival map. This one felt like I was in a nice safe cocoon where nothing would ever be able to touch me.
Secondly, there’s no storyline, there’s no adventure, there’s no nothing, just a different view and I can get that by starting a new world in mc.
Lastly, where is the reason to even download this map? Those challenges (added at a later time) sure as heck won’t pull the player in. There’s tons of ore and you ask us to make blocks out of it, ok, did you want me to breathe while I did that?
I started to make a first impression of this one, but canceled it during it because there just wasn’t anything to do that I wouldn’t do otherwise.
Perhaps before you post a map, have your objectives already mapped out, have a creative storyline, and please, for heaven’s sake, don’t ask people to make wheat/cactus/reed farms because they’re going to do that ANYWAY. Especially on this type of map where there’s nothing to do but sit and watch your farms expand.

When i first started reading this i respected what you had to say but when i finished reading you had little to none of my respect. you obviously don't like my map and i'm fine with that and and your post seemed to be some constructive criticism at first but if you read through my post even a little bit you would realize that everything you said has already been addressed and is being worked on. First off the challenges were suggested by people who downloaded the map. You also said it didnt feel like a survival map because you had to play on peaceful, this is because of creepers but the next ant farm has a glass wall 10 thick so creepers arent a problem. The new map has been tested for its size and passive mobs and aggressive mobs do spawn so that isn't a problem either. This was also a test version to see if people liked the idea of the ant farm which alot of people do. If you would've read past the first post ALL of this was discussed. Thanks for your opinions but next time actually read, it just made you look ignorant really.
just grabbed it today and im enjoying it, i like the it needs to be a little wider though.
Someone suggested a person looking in, thats an awesome idea.
Built a giant drill and now im in the process of "breaking out" of the ant farm

I have read the entire thread. And my opinion stands. It may be a nice map to play on because it's different, but pretty quickly it's very apparent that there's nothing to do after a couple of hours of play. Also, making it thicker with glass isn't going to help with having mobs on. it's just a band-aid for a broken option.
I realize it's your map (may even be your first, I forget), and you're defensive right now, but learn to take some real criticism (none of that smoke up yer **** stuff). Really read what I said above with an open mind and not a turned head.
Or, you could just ignore everything I've said, but remember, I'm one of the folks you're posting this map for. You may have 550 downloads, but I don't see 550 comments here for or against the map. Take that as you will.
And by the way, I never attacked you in my post, so please keep your insults out of this. We’re talking about your map; we’re not in the second grade.
Oh, and another thing, I shouldn’t have to read a 5 page thread to find out about the map, it should be in the first post (or edited in later, which going back to my original point about making sure a map is ready before it’s posted). Would you read through all one thousand plus pages of one of Vech’s maps? Of course not, because he has it ALL in the first post, so you don’t need to. I’m not trying to attack you here, as it is I’m taking my time to come give you an opinion that may or may not help your future map making. That is all.
A fairly nice map, but it has one problem. There is one door out. Kudos to those who find it.
I suggest that a new challenge be added: 30 points - Escape
You should have an spider farm because theyre the closest to ants as like an uber dungeon or something that you get to by some breach from ant farm to ant farm at the bottom so you have to work yourself up
looks cool
