FAQ:
Q: So I cant continue, could it be that the map bugged?
A: Testing has shown that about 90% of times the player was just stuck. I tested this map a lot and there are no gamebreaking bugs. Just stay in the Zelda mindset, look around and try to remember if you've seen something that made no sense before but could be usefull now.
There is one way to "cheat" by forgeting the rule at the very start of the map (only cobblestone on wooden preasureplates), should you encounter any other smaller bugs (including spelling mistakes) feel free to send me a PM or post it in the thread.
Q: Why dont you use custon item images, map image or even have a banner for the Wiki?
A: I'm absolutley no good with image editing. I started looking into it and will probably include custon images in the next major release. As for the Banner, I'll get to it somewhere down the road, should anyone feel inspired to make one I'll happily use it but this no request to the community.
Q: Why dont you use custon item images, map image or even have a banner for the Wiki?
A: I'm absolutley no good with image editing. For some reason my thumbnail for the map is not recognized, its in the map file but didnt show up for any tester, kinda sucks. Should anyone be gracious enough to want to cerate something I'd be more than gratefull for the help.
The reason for the thumbnail not showing up is probably that it isn't the exact dimensions or maybe filetype (dunno if it needs to match) as the default thumbnail. Try stretching yours over the default so it lines up perfectly.
I may be able to throw together a banner or something for you, but there are probably many users out there much more suited for the job.
you should get rid of the flint and steel.... its only use is in the fire dungeon for the first part, and it can be used to burn the entire sky dungeon to the ....um...sky...

Jeah it's actualy gonna be used more in the water temple which is not included yet. I've been considering replacing the wool with a non flamable block and just change the texture on that one. I'll probably do this in the first bugfix update fixing some minor things i noticed.
Did you burn it down? That actualy happend to one of the testers, I was laughing so hard xD
Yeah, I think I'll pass on making the banner. Like I said, I'm not the best at graphic design.
So I'm a bit confused in the wind temple...you know that one diamond building with the 4 different colored sectrions? I've done 2 sectrions, supposedly triggering something, but I can't get up the shaft in the center.
Yeah, I think I'll pass on making the banner. Like I said, I'm not the best at graphic design.

Argh this is frustrating. i just checked it and it turns out its in fact a realy realy bad bug that breaks the game... What a letdown I thought the version was completly bug free but for some reson the storageblocks reseted, I went for another tour and found some other blocks that reseted themselves.
If anyone encounters this bug (anyone who downloaded before this post will have to do this!!) just press F4 then t and enter /fly. Fly to the top and enter /fly again and press F4 again. This could also lead to you having too many Keys so please throw away all GOLDEN keys you have when you reach the top of the bulding and you should have 2 silver keys at this point.
Again very sorry, no idea how that slipped by -.- I'm very sorry!
Heh. No problem. In my adventure map I'm working on which is probably shorter than the first dungeon here, I've had all sorts of chunk resetting issues. On a map of this scale, it's no wonder there are bugs.

While looking, I think you may also be missing a key (or I might be). Should you have any gold keys when you first reach this part, or are both keys up next to those pressure plates that do nothing? If the latter, the one on the yellow side is missing, no chest over there.
Note to players: if you use the /fly to get around this bug, make sure you also go back into the 'unreachable' area there for the chest you'd normally walk past, if you care about gold.
Since you asked for it in the credits here are a few points I would like to adress:
Some doors (the one in the fire temple in a room much at the top, and the one in the wind temple in the door maze with the 2 switches you have to push a few times to get somewhere else) don't seem to work. Those two should open (I guess) when the camera-sequenze shows them. But they won't.
Next, in the main room there is an NPC that says "you can enter - if you can" (or something like that). he stands in front of a big junk of wool. Since I just got the flint and stells I guessed I should lit it on fire. => Bad idead and big hole of no return in the ground.
Speaking of no return: In that previous said door labyrinth there is a place where you can jump on top of it. If you jump down from there in one 'room' and you have the switches in a certain state you won't be able to exit.
Wind temple boss: the right one is easy to figure out (though hard to execute when shot with arrows of course^^") but the left one is kinda difficult. I guessed haning in with my 2 slingshots to read the switch on the flying platform. But nothing seemed to work really. So I tried and tried and then... Victory music.
I didn't activate the switch but the skeletton boss died. I GUESS it shot too many arrows in the sky to hit me and got hit with it's own arrows?
Also the wind temple: You used those colored pyramids with teleporters in them as 'checkpoints'. The problem is: You can active the open-door-switch on the outside through the door and there access all of them from the very beginning.
As I played it I got completely lost this way because I thought this was intentional. As a result of this I kinda screwed up the order I did things in this temple (through I am pretty sure I did everything in the end). I had to cheat a few times as a result to get out of certain places.
Speaking of the right order: Keys! it is really annoying to go through a very hard room just to be in front of a locked door. Sure - those are used to things in the currect order - but I would prefer them to be in the entrace of a room and not at the exit. Also it seems I have missed a regular key at the wind temple (needed to F7' me one, sorry :/).
Maybe make a few things optional. Like not every key a must-have or like a shop where you can buy an extra one for 50 gold.
The last thing I wan't to say: Those dungeons are pretty huge! They are very clever and well-thought-out it really is on the level of a Zelda game. I'm really amazed by this.
Though I think it needs a little bit more 'tolerance' by this I mean that for example those umbrella-fan-plattforms. You need to very precisly jump at the very exact moment to get high enough to reach the next plattform or I would fall and have to start over again.
Also some normal jumps in the game are just over the top. They can be executed but it is very frustating to do it - especially when there are that many in a row.
In the wind temple there was a room with many fan-plattforms. It was made of glass and you would habe to hit switches to activate some other plattforms and get to a specific location.
This room was VERY frustating. And if you fail one jump you would be at the very bottom of the room again. The most annoying thing there was that black button which activates 2 fans for like... 5 seconds or something. This part is just stupid and annonying. Took me forever... (and has btw a locked door right at the end. You would have to do it all over if you didn't know that and doidn't find that key).
So I suggest make it a litte bit more fair. A few extra blocks on certain gaps, a few more hookshop-wood-blocks in certain rooms, a few more wind-fan-plattforms which aren't that high apart from each other.
I guess that's enough. keep up the good work!
Wow that some feedback O.o Very much apreciated.
So the first 2 thing are probably bugs. As I said before some things disapeared for unkown reasons. I'll check that as soon as possible and release a fix.
The thing with the wool is also on the list for the next fix. I thought it would be okay but I can see why that happens a lot (even happend to me a few times...). I'll replace the white wool with some other material and change the texture.
I'll investigate that, I tried to keep everything exploit free as possible but with all these rooms I sometimes forget that decoration may screw the gameplay.
About the Bosses. What happend there sound realy strange... the only thing I can imagine is that it turned day and he slowly burned to death O.o I'll check those hoockshot placement again though to make sure its not undoable but I also have to make sure you cant just get to the top from the bottom in 1 shot. Also these are the Bosses for the 3rd dungeon adn are supposed to be deifficult but then again if their frustrating its realy my fault.
The thing with the teleportes is kinda strange. I didnt know you could to that but i'll fix in the next release.
Yeah keys are a big thing. Essentaily you should never be able to leave room you completed with any golden keys left (at least in the City in the Sky). Designing dungeons, with the amount of keys I tend to put in a room, it realy realy hard to make safe against possible exploits. This leads to some stragley placed door that need to be there to ensure you go one of the possible ways and not jump ahead.
My guess is your talking about the part atop the labirinth in the Broken Temple when your missing some keys. I'm curretly back at the drawing board to fix some of the flow problems the dungeon has and I'll remake it to a small extent somewhere down the road. For the City in the Sky I'll talk about that in the next point.
The City in the Sky is the 3rd dungeon of the game even though it's the 2nd one you play. There for I designed it to be quite difficult and rather unforgiving at some points. The last umbrella room is one of the last 2 rooms of the whole level and after so much ractice with the umbrella I believe it's okay to make it very challenging, but I agree it might be a little too much. I'll add a Checkpoint further up and change the timer on the black button to be a little more gracious.
Wow that was great feedback, very much apreciated. Thanks for taking the time to write all that :smile.gif:
I love this map and the amount of work you put into it really does show. Now, onto bugs.
[*:1hskbv93]Very minor, in the Broken Temple, in the room with the giant column of sand, at the top of the ladder is a missing block that reveals the redstone trigger behind the lever.
[*:1hskbv93]In the maze, when you go to get the bombs, it says the message before you grab them, instead of after, like they originally did.
[*:1hskbv93]You also replaced one of the iron doors, the one that leads to the power glove, with a locked door, but when it's opened, it exposes two holes.
[*:1hskbv93]Replacing that iron door, you didn't add another key, and I could get up to the area where you push down the blocks for the bridge to the boss room. I flew all over the temple looking just to be sure.
[*:1hskbv93]In the City in the Sky, in the room beside the blue location, the bridge that appears is still wool, rather than retextured sponge. I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that there's a few other places like this as well. I know the teleport structures are still wool.
[*:1hskbv93]In the big room with all the locked doors, I didn't realize that the iron door in the wall had opened. Perhaps it'd be a good idea to make a cinematic to show it?
[*:1hskbv93]Speaking of that iron door in the wall, behind it is a locked door, when that locked door is opened, it exposes a hole in the roof.
[*:1hskbv93]The room with the fans and buttons, the second two fans don't turn on the first time you press the button, you have to press it again for them to turn on.
[*:1hskbv93]The City in the Sky, being so big, it's easy to sequence break, I haven't encountered any issues myself, but I hope you've gone over it enough to make sure that the player can't get stuck anywhere. :smile.gif:
[*:1hskbv93]In the Merchant's Shop, you get infinite diamond chestplates and leggings.
[*:1hskbv93]It took me several tries to get onto central platform at the top of the middle branch going from the entrance. I kept hitting the structure above me and I couldn't glide down to the platform, and when I didn't hit that, I hit the edge of the platform with my feet, just missing it. All in all, it requires you to be very precise to get onto it. There is such a thing as too much frustratingly precise timing, :tongue.gif:
[*:1hskbv93]The first big red pad you have to float down to, you can get to it without going out the back end of the pyramid, you can drop out of the bottom.
[*:1hskbv93]Full diamond armor makes falling to your death quite a long fall, perhaps you could add triggers that activate heal/damage blocks, or perhaps script blocks that simply use the command "player.setDead();"
hmmmm, ok im stumped i have 3 silver keys but i dont know where to use them, i just came out of the place with the blue/green button bridges :/ ill go look around, but some help would be appreciated
Edit-LOL figured it out haad to jump down, stupid fog :biggrin.gif:

I will edit this as I continue to play.
Fixed most of the cosmetic stuff and fixed pretty much everything you mentioned except for the bomb message. I couldnt replicate that happening, strange.
The thing with replacing all the wool is that i used a map editor and essentialy find and replaced all wool, this ofc dosent include any wool in the storageblocks or the color wool, the fix was more so that you dont burn the major parts while plating with the fire but I hope thats enough to fix most incances of torching the temple.
While the City in the Sky is indeed dam big making sure that you cant jump ahead was the one thing I'm sure I got right even if the release wasnt as bug free as I had hoped... I changed the umbrella room slightly to make sure you finish it before you can go on but even that wouldnt realy have broken the flow since you had to go back sooner or later.
EDIT: Oh and the thing with the fall damage, fixing that issue would require me to cover almost the entire floor of the area with triggers. Witht the size the map already has and the amount of stuff that can break I realy dont wanna make it more deliacte. The map crashed quite a few times while building and now that im working with more map editor I feel the map is getting even more fragile.
I know it sucks but it something I wont be able to fix unless theres a script to change the amount of damage you recieve from falling through the map. I'm just starting to look into scripts and my knowlege is still very limited.
So i decided to rename the project to "The Legend of Zelda: Seal of Time". First off the name was realy realy dumb, I came up with it late at night and didnt wanna think of a new one as i got ready to release the map. Now that I've had some time to work on story I got an idea for a better name.
Also I'll deliver a "Dungeon only" version with release 2 as I'm working on outdoor areas with some NPC interaction and I'm sure many people (like me) dont like reading some random guys Fan Fiction or interact with lifeless NPCs. If you like that stuff more power to you and I like creating a little world but I can also see why it would be anoying.
please any help would be extremely appreciated. I am at the first temple and only door not opened is the door to get the boss key. I am missing a key! no idea where it is! so far main hidden keys iv found are behind the 2 bomb doors in main hall. PLZ name where all the hidden keys are im super eager to play next temple

The Legend of Zelda: Seal of Time
[*:1hskbv93]Very minor, in the Broken Temple, in the room with the giant column of sand, at the top of the ladder is a missing block that reveals the redstone trigger behind the lever.
I will edit this as I continue to play.
Edit-LOL figured it out haad to jump down, stupid fog :biggrin.gif:
The Legend of Zelda: Seal of Time
So i decided to rename the project to "The Legend of Zelda: Seal of Time".
