Since this map has a lot of loud, ugly pressure plates, it's recommended to download this small resource pack. It can be loaded alongside your standard resource packs and simply makes stone pressure plates silent and invisible. Installation instructions are included in the download.
This is a very large map containing the regions from the main-series Pokémon games. It is still a work-in-progress.
Areas contained in this map:
Kanto (Red, Blue, Yellow)
Johto (Gold, Silver, Crystal)
Hoenn (Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald)
Sinnoh (Diamond, Pearl, Platinum)
Unova (Black, White, Black 2, White 2)
Kalos (X, Y)
It also contains a few, mostly unfinished areas from these games:
Orre (Colosseum) - contains Phenac City and Outskirt Stand
The Sevii Islands exist, and can be accessed via a ferry in Vermilion City.
Currently, all exterior areas in all six main-series regions listed above are complete. Interiors for every building in every region except Sinnoh are complete.
There are minecart tracks connecting every region together, with stations in Saffron City, Goldenrod City, Lilycove City, Jubilife City, Nimbasa City, and Lumiose City. There is also an express line between Nimbasa City and Jubilife City. Each station has a button that will teleport you to that region's starting house.
Secret bases in Hoenn are present. Each entrance is blocked off with a cloth block similar in color to the surrounding blocks (brown blocks on dirt walls, for example). The bases themselves are of varying sizes and shapes, not corresponding to their in-game layouts.
All PokeMarts in the game have villagers that will trade mob drops for potions and supplies.
When playing with multiple players, watch out when hitting buttons and stepping on pressure plates. Make sure you remain near the button/plate and remain the closest person to it until it's done doing whatever it does (usually talking to you) so you don't end up missing dialog or having it messaged to the wrong player. Gyms should usually be completed by one player at a time if they're more complex (such as the Vermilion switch puzzle). Very simple gyms can be completed by multiple people at once.
Here are the important server settings. Everything else can be pretty much whatever you want. Monsters don't have to be enabled for the map to work, it's just a bit boring without them. Feel free to keep them disabled if you just want to explore:
Greydog (my brother), ketchuphed, Darkriot1337, Valkurm88, tothemax2005, koebimoonlight, meanderfox: My friends, some of them even helped occasionally!
31stCenturyMatt: Developed Minecraft Retro Biomes, which I forked into BiomeEdit, which helped a lot with managing biomes in the map
The Bukkit Team: Developed Bukkit, which I use to build the map and without which this map likely wouldn't exist
The WorldEdit team: Developed WorldEdit, which I use to build the map and without which this map likely wouldn't exist
Sephazon: Did a Let's Play of my map, which gave me a lot of exposure and resulted in many bugfixes and new features
megasys: Developed Unmined, which I use to generate the map
Mojang: Developed Minecraft, which is rather important for the existence of this map!
Pumped Up Kicks REMIX, FT. Creeper

Wow. If i dont use a texture pack does it still look nice? But really, wow those 3 regions together, that most of taken ages. This map deserves more fame.
Hmm. I don't know. Probably won't look too different.
possibly my favourite map ever, and i can't even find hoenn.
how do i get to it?
Oh. Just follow the train tracks leading out from under the Goldenrod Radio Tower (but not the set that leads back to Kanto). Those will lead you to Lilycove.
Highly doubt it. The 3D nature of those games makes it really hard to convert to Minecraft (think Castelia City). I did get a little bit of Sinnoh done though, just to see how hard it would be, and it's not too bad so far.
Edit: Well, I did end up doing Unova anyway! So far it has been the most enjoyable region to map. Especially Castelia!

Most of Unova is now mostly finished and the download link has been added to the main post.
To get to the new region, simply follow the minecart track from behind Lilycove City.
To get to Lilycove City, follow the minecart track from Goldenrod City.
Notes:
The area between cities and routes is pretty rough, so shorelines are blocky and there are few trees.
The route north of Opelucid City, Victory Road, and the Unova Elite Four are not started yet.
The sea route west of Nuvema Town is mostly unfinished.
Liberty Island has not been started yet.
The cave connection between Mistralton City and Icirrus City, including Twist Mountain, are not done yet.
Changes:
Added Unova
Don't remember if what I completed of Sinnoh was in the first release. If not, it's in this one.
Added a new minecart track connection between Nimbasa City in Unova and Lilycove City in Hoenn.
Started it sometime in late 2010, worked on it on-and-off since then. Usually it's like ignore it for a few months, work on it for a month or two (a few hours a day), ignore it for a few more months, etc. Hour-wise, I have no idea. 200-300 total?
