You arrive at the Aperture Enrichment Center with nothing but your Notebook.
Looking to find out why there has been multiple disappearances in the past few weeks, you enter...
But will you make it out?
Trailer
Aperture Laboratories is probably hardest Puzzle map you've done.
Featuring puzzles that don't seem to be solvable, it will leave you in total frustration!
The story is set before the creation of the Portal Gun, so you will not need iChun's Portal mod.
Like most other adventure maps, the rules are as follows:
1. No Breaking or Placing Blocks, unless instructed to.
2. Play on "Normal" difficulty
3. Do not use Mods to help you finish the map, that's cheating
4. HAVE FUN!

I'm not sure, but if someone check to see if all the missing minetracks are the new powered ones... It could just be that it's a glitch with the 1.5, and the minecrafts being missing are infact bugging out cause of it. As for the paintings.... Again, could be 1.5, in which case it's minecraft's fault, and not Dowsey. I had no problems with the map (save for the f*cking water jumping puzzel, which I sucked at badly). For the ad download, Check you're cookies. If you don't have the site's cookie allowed, it's not going to download. (I checked it out, as alot of things need cookies.)
Hope this helps.

Here's a video guide on how to install the map / texture:
1. Download the .zip file
2. Using your preferred archiver, un-zip it.
3. Place the "Aperture Laboratories" folder in saves.
4. Place the "Aperture Laboratories Texture.zip" in texturepacks.
Now your set to go!
Walkthrough
Okay, thought this may be useful to those who are stuck.
Please don't watch unless you are stuck, as I'd prefer you all to complete the map without my help
A Word From The Creator
I'd like to thank anyone who played this puzzle map.
This is the first time I've created a puzzle map, and I'd really love your feedback.
Once again, thanks and I look forward to seeing you on my next puzzle map
First off, for making a portal map without using the Portal gun? for you. I hate that mod, because it black-screened me three times.
The map fit perfectly with the Aperture theme, but we need a bit more GLaDOS humour. A minor aesthetic problem. Aside from that, the map was a perfect homage to Portal. The obstacles were amazing, and annoying. And I accidentally broke the minecart in that certain room, so I ended up breaking the walls, and then the lava spewed out everywhere, killing me.
Just one thing: Is the creeper room the last one, or is there any more after that? I let the creepers blast the room, but all I found was the Checkpoint 2 railway.
Thanks for your feedback.
I did try and add as much GlaDos humor as possible, I think I had a hard time trying trying to actually add signs in that manner.
No, the creeper room is not the last room, you might have to go into it and have another look :smile.gif:

Add more insults and such. The insults help you harbour a hatred against the whole facility. Making the experience all the more fun. :biggrin.gif:
Really liked it ^^ Everything worked well, the intro was nice (with the rain and everything) and a genrally nice feel to the map. Hated the water chamber jumping puzzel, but apart from that everything was great! Maybe add a sound for when something falls? And also make the creeper pit outta obsieion... That would stop people from blowing it up, and help them look around abit more.
How are you planning on doing the second one...? Will it be more portal-less puzzels, set in the crumbling ruins of Aperture Laboratories, as Chell and the others mess around? Or set before the portal gun is finished? I'd kinda like to see other AI's about.. maybe helping or hindering the player? And am I talking too much about nothing? I stop now, but I have a few ideas for the second one...
No, really love any input you have to give.
I don't really want to use mods, just because I want to make it as easy as download the map.
And I wasn't quite sure. I was actually throwing up weather to do it Portal 2 style or continue it directly.
If you like, send me a PM with some of your ideas :smile.gif:
bug: I cant see anny of the paintings or the Minecarts and the invisible blocks arent invisible
Oh and also thoughti'd add to that the bit where you throw the bucket away and the blocks go down. If you die the blocks are back up and you need to throw the bucket but you don't have the bucket :tongue.gif:
Ok...
Well, it's sand so the blocks won't fly back up.
With the paintings, thats a glitch I've been having for no apparent reason.
The only thing I can suggest is reload the map... but you'll have to start from the beginning

The map features the carlotta4th's Precisely Portal texture pack, which has been modified to the puzzles needs.
It also features song using Noteblocks.

It's an illusion.
But, its my secret :smile.gif:
I cleaned up the map, getting rid of stuff that wasn't necessary.
I also added Obsidian to the creeper room, so that if the play happens to *blow it up*, they can go back and try it again (minus the creepers)
If you guys have anything else, feel free to post here :smile.gif:
Hmm... was it the one supplied?
Because that is the right one.
And, all the chambers are possible, trust me :smile.gif:
He just made another room that looks exactly the same on the other side.

There are only 2 jumping puzzles...
It's pretty simple, but yet so many people are amazed by it :smile.gif:

It works fine for me and the other 330 people who have downloaded it...
You sure it's not a problem on your side?
