The non-torrent links are broken. They link to a domain that someone else bought. You probably should put them up on mediafire; they're the most reliable. I will not use the torrent as torents tend to be one of the easiest ways to get viruses and malware (They can sneak into the torrent without either party knowing).
This looks like a really cool map, but would it be possible to separate the continents and put them as seperate downloads? The only reason I ask is because the mere size of the file has the potential to turn potential users away from it. But this map still looks pretty freakin good.
The world is fully playable (includes ores, trees, etc). Elevation has been scaled to fit the constraints of a Minecraft world. Sea level was adjusted to 40 blocks which puts Mt. Everest at 121 blocks high. The Earth was generated with various images from NASA (including landmass, satellite, elevation, and vegetation maps) using a custom python script incorporating codewarrior’s pymclevel python library.
After receiving suggestions for ways to make the Earth better, we decided to make some updates. Our changes are as follows:
Added Ocean Topography
Ores Appear in Clumps
Created Different Spawns
Added City Signs
Fixed various bugs (Anarctica, Sand/Grass Mix, etc)
For this world there are two downloads: a single-player and a multi-player version. The only difference between the two is that the SSP world includes bed and signs while the SMP world does not. These are at various cities that will allow you to not only see where you are, but also set your spawn.
SSP: Included in the "world" folder is a "spawns" folder with city folders inside. Before you play, copy/paste the "level.dat" from a city folder into the "world" folder, replacing the original level.dat. When you start up be sure to sleep in your bed, otherwise you may glitch upon respawning.
