You just put the file location in your .bat file (the one you create to change memory usage) so that it pulls the java 64 program and not the 32 bit which is standard. The only change should be that the 64 bit will be located in the "Program Files" folder where as the 32 bit is located in the 32 bit program folder that is labeled as "Program Files (x86)".
If you haven't made a .bat file to run your program from for extra memory then here is how you create it.
Just open up notepad and go ahead and save the file as minecraft.bat Make sure the file type is listed as "all types" and NOT "text document" otherwise it will just save it as a .txt file.
Now here is what you are gonna type. Make sure you type this EXACTLY the same other than the values you are gonna have to change. It's okay if it is all on one line as long as you leave a space after the "-jar". This is actually mine so you will probably have to change your memory at the very least, if not the file location.
The first section is where your java.exe is. It will probably be the same. The second section is where the minecraft.exe file is, like the file you download directly from the minecraft site.
The number after -Xmx is the maximum amount of memory you allocate to minecraft. The second number after -Xms is the minimum amount of memory you will allocate to minecraft.
I would suggest only using half of your total amount of ram as the max amount and its probably best to set it up so the minimum amount is exactly half of your max amount that you decided on.
Also you need to type it in megabytes not gigabytes. So 1gb = 1024mb.
So for example to what I have for mine above, I have 16gb of ram total and as you can see above I have 8gb allocated as the max, and 4gb as the minimum. (8192mb = 8gb, 4096mb = 4gb).
Thats a lot of big talk but really its simple. Just make the minecraft.bat file and copy and paste the text above and just change the file location of java or the minecraft.exe if you need to and setup the amount of ram you want to use with minecraft.
After that just double click the minecraft.bat file and it should launch into minecraft running off of 64 bit java and the amount of memory you selected.
This... is... going... INSTANTLY on my server.
I have only 1 question:
1. A. How?
B. Why?
C. How long did this take?
D. Were you speechless?
E. I need to ask more
You need to get the 64 bit version of java first and foremost.
You can find it here....

"C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe" -Xmx8192m -Xms4096m -jar
"C:\Users\Apollo\minecraft\Minecraft.exe"

The torrent works fine, plenty of people are seeding it.
I already have the map converted and uploaded. You can view details of the server here -- http://www.planetminecraft.com/server/divaria/
Here's the IP if you just want to directly connect -- 69.175.5.202
Credit will be given where credit is due, rest assured
The latest build of spoutcraft works perfectly on the server. If I'm online, just ask and you can have fly abilities so you can explore.
Live-map will be up soon so you can find out where you are.
are there cities already built in the server version?
