I just started using AdventureCraft a few days ago, so I threw together a quick map to try to get comfortable with the various features. It's pretty simple; essentially just a mob fighting dungeon. It's an ode to the "Ordeal" dungeons in many Zelda Games, where you progress through a long series of floors which each pit you against a wave of monsters.
You should also get the newest version of AdventureCraft (for this map, you should have r480 or higher!): AdventureCraft Topic
If you encounter any glitches while playing the map, let me know. Also, critiques on the difficulty curve/balance are appreciated, too. I'm still not satisfied with some the rooms throughout the dungeon (especially near the end), so any suggestions on arenas/monster waves would also be awesome.
Video
Here is a video of the first 60% or so of the dungeon.
First Area = One Ordinal Day, by Darth 'Snake' Nefelim
Second Area = Crazy Mind, by warhawk/chipztream
Third Area = Anna Mulle Griitsit, by sami ak (beathawk)
Fourth Area = Dark Descent, by Feryl
Fifth Area = Back Again, by #4mat
Rest Area = A Perfect World, by malmen
Ending = Eargasm, by maktone
Very Nice
I believe you should actually make a Rpg based Map from this, you know from Zelda.. The dungeons and things like that?
What Ever what I was talking about.. Good job :smile.gif:
Alt download with no music
While I would go with the normal download, other people may have slow internet
Good idea, I'll definitely do this.

More rooms
You can never have too many rooms
I think I'll stick to how it is for now. In the future, I'll probably make a new, more expansive AdventureCraft map.

Gain a heart piece every time you die
This is so people won't give up as soon
Hm yeah, maybe I'll add an extra optional "emergency" room to each rest spot which contains a heart container, in case you get stuck, and need a boost. I'll also probably add arrow stations which reactivate after each death, so you can get more arrows for the bow without needing to grind on skeletons.

Better swords
Every game should have atleast 1 diamond sword
Hmm, I'm not sure about a Diamond Sword, but I'll probably add an upgrade to an Iron Sword in the rest spot before the last area.

If you die in the second room with fans or 2nd to 4th dark rooms you can't get back in
You get stuck in the second and third dark rooms
Which version of AdventureCraft are you using? r477 had a bug in it where Customizable Mob Spawners wouldn't reset properly. This causes the bugs you describe, as the doors don't deactivate when you die, because it still thinks the mobs are in the room. r480 fixed this bug.

Fix the bugs
They make the game unbeatable
The bomb arrows in the 4th dark room only come once
Oh, wow, that's a serious game-breaking glitch! I'll try to fix that ASAP, and put up a new version tomorrow.
Alright; I updated the first post with the revised versions of the map. It fixes the item respawning glitch at the end of the dungeon, and adds emergency rooms and arrow spawners to the rest areas.
This was a fun little map. A couple issues, you might want to give some of the spawners a selected area to spawn in, otherwise things could break, the best location would be three blocks in the air in a 2x2 area over the location you want them to spawn. The spider room near the end broke on me, and the mass of wires made it impossible to figure out where >.>, I eventually ended up walking through the door in debug mode. As for making it a little more challenging in some parts, perhaps add spawners so that the slimes 'split.'
Uh... the room with the giant slime and red cloth walls (i forget the floor number) is kinda glitched.
I killed the first giant slime, then the 3 big ones that spawned after him. Then... nothing else spawned and both the doors were still closed.
edit: apparently i had been standing on one of the mob spawners when that happened. Here's an idea- leave 2 spaces of air below the spawner so that doesn't happen.

After the 5th death, I gave myself infinite health
Suggestions:
Alt download with no music
While I would go with the normal download, other people may have slow internet
Gain a heart piece every time you die
This is so people won't give up as soon
Make the rooms harder
Because of the above suggestion
More rooms
You can never have too many rooms
Fix the bugs
They make the game unbeatable
Better swords
Every game should have aleast 1 diamond sword
Bugs:
You get stuck in the second and third dark rooms
The bomb arrows in the 4th dark room only come once
There isn't a boss key at the end
There are only 29 rooms
Overall rating:2/5
You need to fix the bugs
Good idea, I'll definitely do this.

That's probably optifog screwing up (assuming you have it)
Anyone have a walkthrough?
