Today, i finaly finished a bridge that takes you from my spawn point to my current fort. but right now, it just looks like a floating bridge. here is a current picture.
So my question is, does anyone have a design that looks good on the limited amount of vertical space here?
Thanks in advance

Outside view
Inside view [added an extra row of cobblestone on each side]
thank you yuhhaur for the final design idea.
BTw: this is a legit progect, no invedit, mcedit or anything else was/is used
Hm... i could try that, but it would meen adding atleast and extra row of blocks to each side of the bridge to make look good.
Btw: sorry for my inglish, it is not my native language

You could add the suspension parts to the outside edges of the bridge, so you don't have to add whole new rows to the platform part.

Wood fence stacked on top of each other, coming up from the water can look nice. As well, I like to do like this on my walls, it looks quite nice:
dont get me wrong, wooden fences coming out of the watter do look good, but they are time consumming to place,
and for the walls, i did that design of my fort, and it looks great
You could try something like this (won't help with the floating)
Birds eye view:
Just for lighting
thats great, but the problem is that i dont have any lava, nor a neather portal.
I tried the wooden fence idea. its ok, but i find the a little too fence too skiny

I actually have almost that exact design on my bridge, except the linked fences on that first level is smoothstone instead. On the underside of the bridge (it stretches over a valley that you can walk under), I made it 3 wide and then I added the two rows of smoothstone except there is nothing underneath them and they are raised one block up. Looks nice from the underside.
If the bridge is longer, then I'd use a suspension bridge style, but since it's not, that arch looks great.

Thank for the feedback. But actualy, the bridge is huge, it took atleast 4 stacks of cobblestone per row to complete. I'm kinda skeptical about how it's going to look once it's done, I'll gues we'll figure it out tomorrow once I continue working on it. I'll eather continue with the current design, make the arch bigger, or use a totaly different design.

I tried fenceposts, but they are time consuming and it didnt look good in my oppinion

Edit: tomorrow, I'll post a picture of my map showing how long it is.
Edit 2: if the small arches don't work or look, I might gange the design and do something like this:
