"During the winter of 1927-28 officials of the Federal government made a strange and secret investigation of certain conditions in the ancient Massachusetts seaport of Innsmouth. The public first learned of it in February, when a vast series of raids and arrests occurred, followed by the deliberate burning and dynamiting - under suitable precautions - of an enormous number of crumbling, worm-eaten, and supposedly empty houses along the abandoned waterfront. Uninquiring souls let this occurrence pass as one of the major clashes in a spasmodic war on liquor.Keener news-followers, however, wondered at the prodigious number of arrests, the abnormally large force of men used in making them, and the secrecy surrounding the disposal of the prisoners. No trials, or even definite charges were reported; nor were any of the captives seen thereafter in the regular gaols of the nation. There were vague statements about disease and concentration camps, and later about dispersal in various naval and military prisons, but nothing positive ever developed. Innsmouth itself was left almost depopulated, and it is even now only beginning to show signs of a sluggishly revived existence." - The Shadow Over Innsmouth, H.P. Lovecraft
Welcome to Innsmouth is a tribute map to one of my favorite authors of all time. It is currently a work in progress. My end goal was/is to be able to retrace the steps of the narrator in The Shadow Over Innsmouth. I am using this map as a guide: Innsmouth
Gotta tell you, I wandered around your Innsmouth for a couple hours this morning. I was so excited with it. It actually inspires me to do things a certain way. It's what I needed to keep me on track with the whole theme and goal.

I am glad you liked the map! I started with an idea in mind, and after I built the Marsh Office building I kind of started experiementing with shapes and structures. The Lighthouse and the EOD I tried to make look like anicient alien architecture.
Still has a long way to go, this is my first map that I've been playing on since December. :smile.gif:
This is honestly one of the coolest maps Ive seen on this forum. I"m a huge Lovecraft fan and cannot wait for this map to be compleated. Are you ever going to need helpers because I would be the first to in line to offer my assistance.

<---- for you
Lol, thanks! Right now it is a solo project. I am hoping to have it completed by end of May at the Very very latest... then on to.. a Dark Tower Themed Map. Been wanting to do that for a while, but I'm still having fun with this project. Once i reach a point where all the streets are mapped out and mansions finished (yeah, big boss Marsh had a huge mansion) I think I might open it up for contributions. I am using this map as a guide: Innsmouth (added to OP)
If I get really really ambitious, I know that Arkham is about 20 miles to the south of Innsmouth... *Evil Grin*

*HEART STOPS* holy christ. Arkham would be SICK and ive wanted to do the Dark Tower since I started playing. My plan was really ambitious tho.I wanted to build a map (or set of) that covers the entire series from start to finish. Would take forever but would be sooooo worth it for hardcore fans like me
My idea for the Dark Tower would just be the field of roses and the tower itself. Basically the dark tower would sit in a crater, filled with roses, that went from sea level to bedrock, and then do it to sky level, and perhaps beyond with the y-axis mod. The Paths of the Beams would be an insane undertaking. But there are soo many landscapes in that series that it would take years.. I mean.. Tull, N.C. Positronics labs, Sombra Corp building, Jakes Haunted Mansion, Darrey, the wastelands... Topeka... Mejas... *goes on and on and on*
Yeah, I really want to look into this amazing map you seem to have made, but I can't seem to, well, download it. I suspect the issue is with mediafire, honestly, but I'm not sure and if you happen to have any alternate download options at your disposal that would be grand.
I am not aware of any download limits for Mediafire, and the map is only 80MB or so.
I am at work right now, tonight I'll upload a fresh version of the map to mediafire, and find a mirror hosting site just incase, as well as post some screen shots for folks who may not be able to access YouTube.

This map is awesome. I jumped in to check it out and spent over an hour playing around. Its neat seeing places from the story. Good job bro.
It's so strange, because when I play my map I feel like it is so small, but your the second person who said they spent over an hour exploring it. Thanks for checking it out!
Quick update. I have done some work on the nether. I will upload a new save tonight.
I really need to get focused and just pound out the rest of the street map over the course of a few days. I love doing the huge buildings, but the small ones are like pulling teeth. Lol.
