For some reason when I put the folder into the save file it isn't appearing in my minecraft worlds and also when I downloaded the .rar it came up as a document aswell.

Please try a different mirror and/or right-click -> Save File As..., also be sure that the world folder doesn't end up double-nested when you extract, the level.dat should be in the first-level directory of the world's folder. If you still have problems, please let me know which links you've tried, and what system/OS you are using and I will try to help further.

Hey Criswell, my friend and I downloaded and played your map about a month ago as our first lp (version 1.2). The videos are done, but we're still editing and uploading our adventures. Now that we have about an hour on youtube, I figure you might want to see us dest- I mean explore your map.
The map is really cool and we're glad to have tried out as our first map.
Heh, I've been watching these, added to the Criswelvania playlist! Pity the Nether doesn't work in SMP yet, these multiplayer playthroughs can be very entertaining though.
I'm having so much fun with this map. Thanks much for making and sharing it...I can't imagine the time and creativity needed to give it so much polish.
It's a small bit, but one of my favorite aspects is the way you layout the inside of storage chests. The 'catch of the day' chest looks like an aquarium, the graves look like stick figure bodies lying in dirt/gravel...it's just a level of creativity I would never have thought of for my own use...it's fun and brilliant.
I've played a couple nights now and have all but 2 of the treasures (golden helm and golden apple). I'm really looking forward to going into the nether portion...but I'm too much of a completionist to go without these two. Hopefully they're still waiting in a chest somewhere for me to find. I wouldn't want any spoilers, but a slight nudge in the right direction may help me here.
Also, I have a couple questions regarding the 'rules'. There's a couple rooms that have iron doors only openable from inside and no other entrances. Since redstone torches are available in chests, I figured they might be okay to use as a key...or could use tnt to blast in but that seems messy...just curious how these rooms fit into your guidelines. My other concern regards ore blocks. The only blocks that I've purposefully broken and collected are the ones in the treasure room next to the nether portal...those are treasure right? Otherwise, I havn't seen any diamond blocks to collect, other than crafting them myself...but I have to find atelast one before I can craft more right?
I'm really impressed and could say much, much more...but this post is getting long enough already. I would probably pay the price of Minecraft just to play this map, I like it that much.

Most doors are not intended to be "hacked" with redstone, although it is an option if you can't figure out the mechanism. I personally try to complete without destroying the castle too much usually, but I tried to permit players to use whatever means suit their style, while giving perhaps vague hints on how to finesse your way through. There is one door for which redstone or TNT is the only way past, but it is not critical to the game in any way. There is also an intended route which may be taken to 100% the game in the shortest possible time (?)
Any treasure blocks may be taken although getting all the possible gold will take commitment! :wink.gif: I myself never take the bell but you could conceivably even take the floor of the throne room if you can figure out how to get it. There are definitely not 64 diamond blocks to be found, so take all you find. I didn't intend for people to strip mine areas, just because it's not very adventure-y, but exposed ore blocks may be mined and refined and used to make blocks for final score if desired. I have not really calculated their impact on the game or placed them strategically. Think of them as spoils of opportunity.

Just a couple hints then:
Golden Apple:
deep in Deadman's Cave, near a lava pool
Golden Helm:
near the Blackened Altar by the waterfall behind Brahm Mansion, may be hard to see during day
I think that's where I hid it anyways, been a couple weeks since I looked! :tongue.gif:
Thanks for such high praise, nice to see folks catch the details. :smile.gif:
Real nice map and all, but one problem: the one who buys books... you put TOO much books in the map, and now the chest with the iron for the books is empty. Other than that, really good. Have some bookcases :

Roses are purple, violets are white, I suck at writing poems, because I'm colorblind.
Edit : Also, please think about using MediaFire to host. All those sites you have are obnoxious with how they are set up.
See, I actually find Mediafire obnoxious, it has popups that occasionally slip by my blocker. Since there seems to be a demand for it though, I'll add a Mediafire link next release. Waiting 60 seconds for a link is annoying too. :smile.gif:
In other news, anticipating the 1.4 update which will make the spawns advance when you sleep in beds. Besides wolves, not sure what else to expect, hopefully something fresh to incorporate into the map.
An expansion is in the works: new and improved castle and town areas, new depths, new quests and shops, new locations to visit in the overworld and Nether, and a more developed story. Plus a really cool manual. Not sure if it will be ready in April or May yet.
Amazing looking map, I am about to crack down to playing it, but I just wanted to comment:
...There are people who find one-click no ads no restrictions downloading via Google Docs annoying? And prefer MEDIAFIRE?
Maybe the world really IS ending.
please please please please please please for the love of god make this in adventure mode! You could add bats, sword skellys, BOSSES!and your towns could have NPCs in them!the one problem would be clay....

It's very likely gonna happen, but I'm waiting to see what the word is going to be from Mojang on mod support. I don't want to spend a lot of time on something that only works properly for a narrow window of time between releases.
