I've been playing on the Sea of Fire map, the normal version. It's beautiful. A masterful combination of trolling, baiting and outright sadism. I finally have my preferred stacks of grain, and I've lit up the surface even if it's not covered in grass. If there's anything past the Labyrinth I'll grind through it and continue**, but otherwise I think I may call this one won and move on. Spoilers are in small font.
I'll download and try out the other hard maps later. So far, 5/5, would rage again.
That gigantic cavern was evil genius. The secondary caves on the upper edges were just inspired. The big guy is mostly* locked down, and I've taken a couple exploratory pokes at the Labyrinth. That is why I light my strip mines like Las Vegas. I'm gonna need some signs to navigate that. Also, the vertical shafts. likes. I'm making a habit of looking up, and then sealing them. When I remember.
*I think I've neutralized all the spawners, found all of the secondary caves (blocked some, lit some), etc. but I'm not declaring it safe. I'm planning to make a corridor to the Labyrinth, and make the occasional patrol around the edge for stragglers.
**Lighting up multi-level strip mines complete with vertical shafts is not my idea of fun. No offense.
So....I have 8 hours of recorded gameplay of me kicking ass and taking names sitting on my hard drive which is now corrupted. Trying to retrieve data from it tomorrow. If all goes well it should supply Sea of Flame episodes 7 - 10 or so.

Ugh.
Man that's terrible.
Well, if you can't recover it, (hope you can...) don't stress out too much. You can always start fresh in the Kaizo Caverns and make really popular death-montage videos from it! :smile.gif:

You're in luck, I just updated my 3 original maps. Complete with goal systems!
Zisteau led me here, with the fire one. The next 2 look awesome. I've played Kaizo Mario, so I'm scared about Kazio Minecraft. Nice job!
Yeah, Zisteau makes awesome LP's. <3
Currently playtesting Kaizo Caverns, and it's hilarious because I've placed so many traps that I have forgotten about some of them, and I just fell into one earlier. Thankfully I figured out how to live through it at the last second and just barely escaped.
But I couldn't help but laugh and think "God damn, whoever designed this is such a ****! Oh... wait..."
One question though. Do you make these using MCEdit?
Thanks! :smile.gif:
Yes, my primary tools are MCedit for making bulk terrain and sculpting rough terrain features, then I use INVedit to provide items and blocks to assist me in doing detail work in-game. ( Anything to do with redstone, doors, switches, ladders, stairs, dungeon areas, etc.)
When I make a map, about half my total construction time is spent editing with MCedit, the other half is spent editing in-game.

Thank you. I just started messing around with MCedit. Been trying to figure out how to make islands. Figured out how to make massive oceans.
God i love your sadistic and slightly evil maps, cant wait for Kaizo caverns to come out, and im about to start on the new Sea of Flame, i had pretty much conquered the eariler one. ALso, you planning on making a 5th one? if you want i could help you with some traps or playtesting or something, i have a reptutation with my friends of being sadistic and cruel with my traps.... (tnt floors, lava hallways, etc)
edit: forgot to say, on the eariler Sea of LFame i have leveled the island completly legitly and have made path's to my tree farm and mine, also, my house has a big SOS sign on either side made out of iron blocks, of which i have too many =D
I started whimpering when you compared it to Kaizo...
I downloaded all three maps, I'll give you feedback when I'm done.
Here, have a for turning Minecraft into Kaizo.
For my first try, which one do you guys think is the best? Not easiest, just best.
If you want to burn to death, try #1.
If you want to drown in murky depths, try #2.
If you want to fall off cliffs and plummet to your death, try #3.
If you want to perish in an underground hell of monsters, caverns, and traps, try #4.
(It's not ready for public release yet, Zisteau is making episode 1 of a LP of the map that will be ready at release, but we've had a slight technical problem on that end.)
Absolutely loving the work put into Endless Deep. Surprised not many others are playing it.
Anyone who wants to play this map (Endless deep) but isn't used to underwater construction, in the tag below there's a huge hint on something to help you get by in your underwater.
-This makes an instant air pocket. Cobblestone can be replaced with any solid material but the one above the torch has to be not affected by gravity (No sand / Gravel). When you place the torch it'll clear the water then immediately be destroyed, creating a small pocket of air if you swim up into the corner. Very easy to make and you can even do it with natural formations if there is an overhang you can fit under.
But no, I've been enjyoing myself A LOT. Haven't been able to explore too much yet, but that's just how underwater maps work. My only regret is with how rare coal is, that I'm unable to make mass glass to make tunnels to view the environment..
]For those who haven't started yet, and still read this, watch out for raining TNT when you first leap off the ship. I took a near direct blow and lost a good chunk of health right off the bat.
I actually didn't see the sunken ship right under the spawn area at first, so my main base is on the tallest point i could see. Would have saved me SO MUCH frustration had I found it first.
Working as intended.

No more wimpy "normal" versions. It's time for you guys to die! >:biggrin.gif:

Sea of Flame is more enjoyable this way. Although some areas still have too much resources.

That's great, feedback is always welcome, and so is the promotion of my maps in another thread. <3
Much appreciated. (And glad you liked the map!)
