Fire Aspect also only works on mobs, and is useless on Blaze, but makes fights easy as you can hit a creeper and wait for it to burn to death.

Using NBTEdit you can add enchantments to any item in the game. Such as a stick or sign. I've given steps below - I assume you know the basics of NBTEdit.

1) Using NBTEdit, open the level.dat of the world in question.
2) Go through Data > Player > Inventory.
3) Find the item you want. You'll need to know the item ID of what you want, and it should be in your inventory before editing.
4) Once you've found what you want to enchant, click on its container and hit Ctrl-0.
5) Name the Compound "tag"
6) In the toolbar, click "List" - the thing that looks like a Post-It note. On the drop-down menu, click "Compound".
7) Name that "ench"
8) Hit Ctrl-0 again.
9) Press Ctrl-2 twice, naming the first short "id" and the second short "lvl".
10) Refer to MC Wiki's Enchanting page for enchantment ids. Find the enchantment you want, and add it to "id".
11) Edit "lvl" to change it's power. I is the weakest, X is strongest. X level enchantments don't occur in-game, so there might be bugs enchanting things that high.
12) Finally, save. Because you want to keep your work, right?

EDIT: I have yet to experiment adding multiple enchantments ... will do now.
EDIT 2: To add multiple enchantments, repeat steps 8-11 again.

Just in case you guys are interested, here is a schematic with a large chest full of enchanted signs. If you have MCEdit you can dump these in a test world and check out the true power of the sign.
All 54 signs are enchanted with Sharpness X, Knockback X, Fire Aspect X and Looting X. A single hit will do the damage of a diamond sword without jumping, knock the mob back about twenty blocks without sprinting, set it on fire, and when you kill, has the potiential to drop nine times the usual.
Just don't place it by mistake - you won't get the enchantment back!
And because it's a sign, it has no durability. Sadly you can't parry to reduce fall damage, or smash through cobwebs. But pretty sweet, I say. 54 overpowered pigman weapons for free.
