Vechs, your wall of shame is looking rather small... Clearly you have not seen the Yogscast disaster of a Canopy Carnage let's play. Flying, teleporting, and spawning items, it is really a shame that is the second thing you find when you search "super hostile" on google. I like the yogscast and all... but man, what a disaster.

Yeah, but I believe most of that was to showcase the map itself. In their defense, they really didn't know how to deal with the heavy load on their computers from the leaves effect in CoC, so they were having trouble as it is. Plus, the Yogscast effect did bring a lot of people here, myself included. :smile.gif:
Looking at the one video there, I think that was done just because the directors purposely and blatantly broke the rules.

Seconding this, The Yogscast just screwed around like they always do.
And the Yogscast effect brought me here so hey, I don't really care.

Yeah. But generally their cheating usually makes for better, more hilarious footage.
(The cheating alone might just be the reason why the Yogscast's five episode long LP isn't on the list. Or the fact that it's just five episodes long.)
Was an amazing, but frustrating, experience. Vechs, keep up the good work. Oh and I love the ending, was too funny, great ending to a great map!
Going to move on to your Nightmare map now. Yeah I'm a sucker for punishment. Plus when you say I can't complete something my stubborness kicks in to prove you wrong! Haha.

as for Ender dragons, I didn't think the block destroying mechanic was permanent. If it is though, I don't see Vechs using them very often. They could just fly through a wool box and destroy your dreams, not to mention they would be 1,000 times worse than endermen which Vechs clearly hates.
In nightmare realm there are already signs with fences around and holes to stop endermen.
One of the signs even references it (Outside the Cyan Dungeon).
Something that nukes everything is VERY unlikely to show up.
I've been watching the team map fights on youtube and have been a bit inspired to possibly create my own map.
I do have a question, though, in regards to creating the team maps. How are you mirroring the lanes? Is this some function in mcedit? Or an external script?
Acquiring the red wool on Nightmare realm is shamefully easy. ITS THE RED WOOL!!!!!! And all you have to do is reach in past some signs and open a chest BANG red wool acquired. :'(

Havn't got that one yet :B
I started on the ender forest, damn I dislike those cave spiders now.
Question. I was watching Etho's Canopy Carnage LP series and I really enjoyed the kind of story behind the wool and the "abandoned expedition" scenario present in that map.
Is there other "story" kind of maps and if so which is the best/most interesting to play?
Wait a second. Was just watching some liveplays of the older maps and notice that most people play on the "Normal" setting for difficulty.
Let's do a tally.
What difficulty do you guys play these maps on, obviously the only real diffrence is how much damage you take.
I always play normal maps on hard and just don't bother to change it for the SH series.
How much diffrence does the slider make? Anyone tried all the settings for a prolonged period of time?

Imo all the maps have a story:
"Some psychotic asshole has trapped you in a really nasty place and told you the only way out is by collecting a bunch of brighly coloured peices of wool from an undead and trap filled hellhole."
It's enough story for an entire series of movies. *COUGH*SAW*COUGH*
But on topic, yeah. The canopy carnage is one of the only ones with a preset story. Either way it shouldn't be hard for you to come up with something to explain your predicament.
The dark desert could go well with an evil force plunging the world into eternal darkness etc. Once you have finished the monument go into MCEdit and remove the roof entirely so you can survey the land you saved etc.

I also wish SMP combat wasn't completely unfair. You pretty much HAVE to get hit in a melee fight no matter how good you time your swings.
I think that's why Pause trained himself to a Master's degree in Archery. :biggrin.gif:
I'm sorry ?!! That's about as close to stalking as you can get without actually stalking . Deeply weird .......

Nice! Good job, you might want to try my very own CTM map when I release it's :tongue.gif:
Lold. Love the reply. Thanks!
