Hey Vechs. Here's an idea. One that Actually might accomplish 2 things.
One thing we've all experienced is that when we get down to one-2 pieces of wool left, we basically just have to scour the whole map. Sometimes this can be frustrating, sometimes not, but it's obviously not the kind of difficulty you're looking for.
What you could do, is have a row of signs in the same location as the victory monument, set up like this:
Where the signs above the gravel tell the colour of the wool. Now, lets look at one of these from the side.
- Colour of wool on this sign, available for sight right away - This sign has the hing, it's hidden by gravel.
If the player is really stuck on one piece of wool, they punch the torch out, the gravel falls down, revealing the sign behind it which has a hint as to the location of the wool.
While I doubt it'll be added retroactively, if you even take it into consideration, the hint could be as simple as, if added to Kaizo Caverns, or another map that's Kaizo style (Separated areas) merely the cavern or area name the wool is in. What this accomplishes is the player still has to go through the entire map, facing all of the challenges, but they won't have that period of exploring completely lit up safe areas after that they've already explored and finished, scouring for a piece of wool they may have missed.
The first time was when I was picking out blue wool from the chest. I lost quite a bit of building, including a ladder down from a walkway i was building to get around the jungle to get to the red wool. Luckily I had fallen off said walkway earlier and was able to get duplicates of many of the items I was already when it crashed, and was able to replace the ladder that was lost in the crash (as I was carrying the ladder when I had falllen off and later used it to build the first time)
The second was in the fortress of the red wool. I had placed all the items I had into a chest, including special armour from the victory monument, because it looked like i wasn't taking damage for an odd reason and went inside to fix the problem by reducing the extra glitch-health by dieing and respawning in the bed I had placed right outside. The game crashed as soon as I hit the respawn button. When I restarted minecraft I was way back at the start and when I got back the ladder I built up to the fortress was still there, the bed was still there, and yet the chest with all my items was lost.
I did have a good laugh at the reasons why the mobs should give me the wool as well as the "my first cannon kit".
So while waiting for Canopy Carnage to be out (and sufficiently tested), I've decided to for-real beat The Sea of Flame. Just a quick question: all those random stacks of 16 wool in various chests aren't meant to be there and I should ignore them, ya?
so.. um.. with the victory monument thing, can we dye some white wool to get the final things? because i have a few extra white wool, an ink sac, and some lapis.....
edit: 2 chests of lime wool in the infernal sky

Yo dawg I heard you like playing Portal so now you can play Portal while playing Minecraft while going to Hell.
I'm going to be playing the new version of Canopy Carnage normally, and using the old version for my journal still :wink.gif:.
Any comments on my latest entry, Vechs? (hint: scroll up)
By the way, would you endorse it if I made an official texture pack for this series?

I liked the journal, pretty cool :smile.gif:
If you make a texture pack I can promote it on my thread for you, but I wouldn't call it "official" (because I might one day make one myself, actually. Ah, so many projects, so little time...)
ARGH!
WHY DO YOU ALWAYS MAKE THE VICTORY MONUMENT SUTABILE FOR A BASE?! (okay maybe not in Black Desert but still)
Oh, and I like how the monument was half blown up.

I always want to give it some level of protection - I like hard maps, but at the same time I think if a creeper blew up part of the monument it would be really cheap. Also I wanted it indoors, on the off-chance lightning struck near the monument, started a fire, and burned up all your wool.
And the next map , what it's the theme ? A Giant Snow Mountain ? :3
Dude, you're already asking him about the next one?! Chill! (I think it's gonna be Kaizo Caverns 2... or I hope...)
All previews of Canopy did were make people anxious and post constantly about wanting updates and stuff, which took time away from me actually working on the map. Not only that, but it put me on a time schedule, with people constantly wanting to know "How long till it's done? Huh? How long?" and I really didn't like that - this is a fun hobby for me, and trying to hit some arbitrary deadline turns it into a job. So I won't announce or preview my next project. I like the idea of working at my own pace, then being able to post the finished map "out of the blue" to the forums, without stringing people along with previews and stuff.
I do, however, greatly appreciate all the interest in my work though - thank you all for that! :smile.gif: And I hope you enjoy my current and future maps.

Is the official version any different then the leaked?

Awww... Can you at least tell us the theme?
I'm a pixel artist who makes pixel things and maps! I also do line art occasionally.
I have two work in progress resource packs!
This is the second one!
And of course, by "work-in-progress" I mean "will never, ever be completed".
Put netherrack near a tree and hope to all sh*t that lightning strikes it.
