I was playing Sea of Flame II in 1.8.7 when my minecraft updated to 1.9, talk about super hostile, rom hack hard. I didn't know I could edit my profile
at the loading screen for minecraft to revert to an earlier version, so for a week I was so angry, and frustrated. I finished it yesterday, reverted to 1.8.7
and have done Kaizo in 1.8.
I am going to move on to another one, playing in the versions they were designed for, now that I know how easy it is to do that.
Any suggestions on what I should do next? Has to be a vechs ctm, they are the best.
Only issue I have on this new site thing is that there is no longer a link to that other map you worked on. Sadly I don't remember the name of it but it was a similar victory monument style map. But if you happen to have the link to it or something I would highly appreciate it. (I think I accidentally deleted it)
You might try it in an older version, see if that works. Sometimes, you can load it in an older version, then load it in a newer version. Be warned though, you can't go to an older version if you do this.

I know of this process. But for this to work the map would have to be loaded in several versions completely. And i did know that back patching is not possible for maps with the exceptions of making backup copies for each version of minecraft.
I just wanted to know if there was a pre existing faster method.
I decided to play through Sea of Flame, and in the Molten Depths area I got attacked by an elder guardian's mining fatigue move. I think an ocean temple generated when it shouldn't have. How should I fix this?
My current progress: Classic Island is completed (I've got all the loot and such, but haven't made grinders out of the spawners), and I've gotten to the victory monument. I don't have iron, (water and milk are a moot point for strategic purposes) or any of the wools.
EDIT: I looked, and the ocean temple generated in an obvious place. I haven't progressed onto the blocks that the ocean monument ate, so I've decided to just copy my progress into a fresh copy of the map, then filter the map's biome so that this doesn't occur again.
EDIT 2: Turns out I'm not actually sure how to prevent this from occurring twice, since the game says that the location that the temple is isn't a deep ocean. (I don't have NBTExplorer, just MCedit.) I'm considering just rolling with it...

Consider starting over using 1.2.5. That is the version it is supposed to be played in, new updates break the Ballance.
It really depends on which map you're playing. Some of them I THINK might be okay, but I'd strongly recommend keeping a backup save of the map in case it gets corrupted. Which can happen.

Just wish we could get a new map already. With 1.7 and now 1.9 all his old maps are officially 100% obsolete. No rush of course. Map making takes a lot of time. Just bummed it's taken THIS much time.

Hi, i was wondering why you changed where the downloads came from, and removed map 05 from the list on the site... and just looking for a walkthrough of the site, thanks, bye
Edit: Also what happened to Canopy Carnage? TBH that one was my favorite

Can I play these maps fine in 1.9? They seem to load normally, but are there any long-term difficulties, glitches etc?
Ironically, the older maps are more likely to play correctly - due to changes to potions and custom spawners, most of Inferno Mines's potion showers are totally broken (nothing comes out, and it spams errors in the server's console), and nearly all custom mobs instantly die in a puff of smoke when they spawn (including Fleecymob Bosses, which makes their wool unobainable).
In the older maps, the main problem you're likely to encounter is being stuck in the floor when you first spawn (and not being able to move), but that's easy enough to fix using MCEdit (or by loading the map once in an old version and saving while standing on an easily-breakable block such as dirt or sand).

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
I think rule #6 could be worded better, because it kind of implies you aren't allowed to die, since if you do die, then you've failed to survive in any way you could think of.
I assume dying is supposed to be allowed, because Vechs wouldn't put in invisible, insta boom, speedy, charged creepers with jump boost if he wanted me to not die, right?
Going through the old CTM maps. First up is Sunburn Island
Thoughts on the map:
Difficulty curve was more like a difficulty rollercoaster. Several dungeons, notably the starter, pirate fleet, hidden leaf, and boat one, were extremely easy even with just the basic gear scavenged up. Several were massively harder, with haunted mines and the frozen tropics under ice one. Both were filled with mobs and the haunted mines used 3 different custom mobs, including the boomers. Overall very weird difficulty, with the 1st dungeon being almost impossible to die in and the 2nd being hard, especially for base materials at that point.
Custom loot: Overall somewhat smooth curve. Never had to worry about food, wood, or coal just from scavenging these, and the pirate fleet contained full diamond gear for a extremely easy day time dungeon. Overall decent and I at least felt at any point in the game looking in the chest was worthwhile.
Overall, fun beginner map. Died once due to the Black Wool dungeons flame Chars but everything else was relatively easy.
Happy anniversary everyone!
Can you make me a Rambo pig skin

Would like to know if there is a way to get the maps to load in current versions of minecraft. Currently i get nothing but void.

Well, his Super Hostile Online map launches soon, and after that he plans to start work on his next Super Hostile map.

He changed the site for downloads because the one he was using stopped hosting downloads IIRC. And Canopy Carnage is part of the "Old Stuff" pack.

ah, thank you...
So some friends and I started Legendary and NEVER finished it...
Few years later we're going to get back to it!

Technically exists.
