Mostly cause I'm really new to the SH series so I had to watch your vids for every last bit of loot, even setting up the railway heist system so I could get infinite Unbreaking III books.
SH 12 was still really challenging even with my OP cheat sword and OP cheat bow. In normal minecraft, that is. Here, not really...
btw love flamevenoms
I think you're getting a bit P.O'd about this. You need to understand that it's been about a year since the last map was made, and an even longer time since we've had a truly evil and difficult map (Nightmare Realm). So in light of the previous statement, and because Vechs has such a large fan base he's in his own right to tease and to hype it up.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with hyping up the new map other than it makes you want the new super hostile map to come out quicker and you grow impatient, and angry at the fact that it's not coming out any faster.
Calm down, it'll come out when it comes out, there's nothing wrong with hype, and the Shielded UHC adds a new level of gameplay that a majority of the community is going to enjoy (including you) when it comes out because it'll be well made, and fun as it always is with his maps.
People get over it! Changes are scary, but they're not always for the worse!
If the map is anything like IM (not up to par) then the more he hypes it the more I will hate him for it. I could go on for pages about this but you guys deserve the simplified version. He had the right to hype IM but that ended very badly for him and he left the community because of it.
It seems like he's working on another map. No info about when it will done, since he just started the project.
He also made a series about the map making in his YT channel. Also in the previous page of this thread, there is a sneak peek of the map.
For the year you were absent he quit mapmaking, but now he is kinda back.
tl;dr stop posting hate comments and give him a break.

Hey there, all. I stream CTMs as well as other indie games, Minecraft servers and probably that's it. I'm your supreme overlord too so I command you to CHECK ME OUT: www.twitch.tv/techniclepanther
Agreed. Every time he makes a map he's not getting worse, He's getting better. A few ideas fail, but that just helps him perfect things for future maps making the next one better. In the next one he may find mistakes, but that only continues to perfect the maps he makes as he goes.
All that aside though, I don't really understand why people though Inferno Mines was bad. I played though it a month or two after it became public. I played all the way though, and I thought it was great. The only thing I can think of that was questionable was the random loot system, but even that was a minor mistake in a vast map. He made good use of the possibilities in 1.5 to the mobs to make them more powerful and overall it was a great challenge all the way through.
TLDR:
Second Law of Thermodynamics
I thought Inferno Mines was great, what was so bad about it?
Random loot, plain environments, poor use of custom mobs, weak balancing, too many spawners, bad last intersection.

He injected himself into the public forum and he will receive my criticisms whether or not you like it. [REDACTED] so [REDACTED] wouldn't have a [REDACTED] fit over it. I was merely saying that if you over hype a dull or boring map you will be at the mercies of an angry mob.
You're too late. Turns out nobody has thought of my user name before, and I now have it universally claimed with everything I use. Youtube, MC Forums, Twitch, League of Legends, Steam, Twitter, and the list is only expanding! >=)
I'm not here to fight with any of you. I respect all of your opinions, I hope none of you take offense to my opinions either as the can be argued (Or is that Sarcasm? *Wink [you'll Never know]), I only hope you'll take my opinions for just that, and not treat me too harshly for a different opinion.
The random loot annoyed me a bit, the environment was a little plain, but as was the sacrifice in making a map with only 1 block top used as a base block and theme of fire and lava. If it's considered plain, the same could be said about Kazio Caverns. Both IM and Kazio Caverns, had mainly 1 base block with the same theme throughout the entire map but (IMHO) both maps made up for it with the interestingly designed and shaped areas.
The use of custom mobs was the first map where he had access to such customization and power in mobs, so it was a first attempt at using them. Nobody can do things right always first time around, especially since 1.5 wasn't out when he started development on the map.
Admittedly, the amount of spawners was grotesque, but I still found the balancing to work and found the map enjoyable even if I died a few times to cheap deaths. (It is a map series called Super Hostile after all!)
I think it actually is a huge step. Mechanically the entire way the player plays the game and how hard he has to work to get to the top of the metaphorical food chain is decided by the way the custom mobs were made, and this was his first map to flirt with such ideas.
In this map he did some unique things that he's not done in his maps before.
First official map to use Fleecy Mobs as well as Fleecy Boxes, first linear branching map to not have the standard intersection all the way through,
first map that's linear branching and purely underground to have an area that's hundreds of blocks across so it's hard to see the walls and ceiling that's got enough room for exploration and tons to find in your efforts for exploring, first map to be linear branching and making almost the entire thing lapse back around like a snake in a giant ring, first map to introduce practical mob farming for more than just xp or bones for food he made mob farming have a combat use (Like the flame venom teeth), first map to use and fully implement environmental dangers (Vexian Death blooms and the sort) that must be avoided that can't even be survived in with stacked healing potions (which is big one IMO, it forces the player to actually have to avoid things and plan around it to make progress there's no head on trying to get past a Vexian death bloom.).
They're are probably a few more, but that's all I got for now.
TLDR: I spent way to much time writing this for a tldr. Read it you damn lazies!
Based on the video he posted today on youtube it would seem that he did see my suggestion (or it was a vast coincidence) So it would seem he does check this forum after all =)
are you calling me lazy? i'm not lazy, i just don't want to read it; i'm being spiteful not lazy.
