To be honest, I think it would be justified if you were to cheat yourself the pick, sword, and four blocks. That kind of thing sucks.
Thanks. That's what I ended up doing, ONLY GIVING MYSELF BACK THE STUFF I WAS ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN I HAD. And then a bit less than that, just to be sure. So anyway, after that I went back to Balestein, got 22 XP, came home and built myself an Enchantment room, all excited to get an OP diamond sword(couldn't be bothered going up to 30, had the bookshelves, not the time or interest).
"Ah, I guess I'll settle for a level 19 enchantment. New update made the good stuff easier to get....."
Knockback I
RAAAAAAAAAAAGE.
Pigget Panic was never version 3'ed. As such, the large areas of the map with a bedrock ceiling at the old max height are gaining the bugged height map data in the anvil conversion.
To fix this, run my light fixer on the map (preferably on a fresh copy immediately after converting to anvil).
The areas will likely still be afflicted with the other light bug (remedied with my add ladders tool, but requires some mcedit use), but just using the light fixer alone should fix the lag.

(Vechs, will you ever get around to Zooming Zisteaus?)
VICTORY! I just beat Nightmare Realm!! Grabbed 35 gold blocks(used one for the monument), dashed over to Forestmen, found an apple, and stormed good ol' Balestein for the yellow wool with nothing less than:
Full diamond armor
Diamond Sword + Knockback I
Other random stuff
All the epicsauce owning power of a second tier golden apple
I managed to swipe that wool away from the likes of them
'creepers under glass' and made sure I TAPPED the glass on the way out.
In the end, t'was epic, and certainly one of my favorite SH maps.
Now what next...... Sunburn Islands, or Spellbound Caves?
I'm stressed......
Sunburn Islands it is.

Pauseunpause has only quit 2 Vechs maps. The man managed to complete Lethamyr, Black Desert, Nightmare Realm, and Spellbound Caves. The 2 maps he has been unable to complete are Waking Up....and Sunburn Islands.
Prepare for your stress level to rise., <---- Sarcasm, btw.
Is the the minimapmod(forgot the specific name) and the in-zooming of optifine cheating.
I do use those 2 but I don't use the waypoints in these.
Play the map however you want to! Just whatever's most fun for you. Vechs' stand on mods is
"- Mods that let you chop trees at the base (Like Terraria trees)
- Mods that make Endermen not pick up blocks.
- Mods that make your hand-held torch give light. (Should be part of the vanilla game, IMHO.)
- Mods that don't affect the gameplay. (Graphic tweaks, UI tweaks, etc.)"
Some people play with more though. It's for your enjoyment.
Also, for the trap, it's pretty obvious and easy to avoid, so you're just giving an observant player a block of tnt. Maybe if you have it just on one in with a bunch of other untrapped spawners, it will be a lot more effective than on it's own.
So, apparently the Superflat changes will allow you to assign a certain block to every layer of a Superflat world. Including air. So, infinite air world. No outside, normal generation. I suppose the only downside is no void fog, but that's a small price to pay.

Or infinite [sandstone/stone] world 256 blocks high. That's one rule gone

There really should be an option to turn void fog on or off when creating a superflat world. A lot of people hate it, but it can really add to the atmosphere of an area - like the Undersky in IS2.
Oh and for the Q&A I have two questions and one "hope":
1) Will you announce the release date of Pantheon before it comes out (like Spellbound) , or will it just be there once it's done (like Lethamyr)?
2) Will we find out who made which area while playing the map?
A) I want an AWESOME bossfight at the very end. Possibly even with background music (if not, I would just use some Kingdom Hearts piano collections music in the background, something like )
I would have posted these in the irc during Q&A (if there were some questions, summary?), but was at around 7-8 AM for me and I have to go to school..
And since noone has answered them here, I thought I might repost them.
My mind just broke. My mind cannot comprehend what it just saw. Put a warning on that sucker next time.
Deadmau5 requires no warnings.
To BoneHead: When it's done, we release it. It'll probably be a snapshot release as we need some 1.4 stuff, and then a more official release when 1.4 comes out.
And yes, I'm trying to get a collectible system implemented where everyone's skins are hacked onto a map, so that everyone's area has its own map to collect.
You know, if you want to make a map with the new superflat generator but still have the void fog, you could just use NBTedit to switch the generator back to normal before you zip it up. I've not tried it, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Vechs has also said that any other mods you use would be considered "cheating".

That would be really great. No more lag spikes!

I beat two super hostile maps, see of flame 2 and spellbound, have to finish more. Plan to do inferno mines for lulz and win when it goes out. Have fun!
It occurs to me that the lag spikes at the edge of open-world maps wouldn't happen anyway if Vechs generated some empty chunks (MCEdit, flat world generator, level 0 and no grass) around the edge. It shouldn't take that long.
Sunburn Islands could be fixed by this. Granted, part of the problem is the immense lapis wall, but having the empty chunks would solve this issue very well. (For those of you with multi-core, cutting-edge, super fancy desktop computers, Sunburn Islands drops to 0-1 FPS when you approach the great barrier that surrounds it.)

I thought it could be nice and totally annoying
Good idea. I think Vechs would like it, as it's a trap you have a chance of running away from (he doesn't like overly cheap traps).

1) makes me sad
2) makes me happy
3) makes he hoping
4) makes me laugh in schadenfreude, you failed^^
Hellz yeah. "The world is flat my son, do not sail off the edge or ye will be lost to eternity!" This would be an awesome addition to the map.
Edit: schadenfreude is an awesome word. It should be used more often, along with Sesquipedalian.
