I was planning on trying your next released map on hardcore... I refuse to try that now...
With the new spawners, I thought it might be nice food for thought.
More like get poisoned by a kamikaze mob than can climb walls, then get nearly blown to bits, and then get raped by the spider that should have died from the explosion, but didn't, using Chicken Science.
WHAT?!
Danger zone.
^My idea^
I'm actually curious about that, now that you mention it...
You just lost the game.
You could always try reflecting the ghast fireballs back into the "gunship".
It's too bad you couldn't just blast the thing with tons of ghast fireballs that you could shoot yourself.
Wouldn't that be neat if you could do that?
Man, the excitement.
These battles will be EPIC.
Also, heads up for Vechs pony in less than 10 minutes.
Yes yes it would be neat. You have your magic ghast fireballs for us to use now don't you...
Chapter 1: A coastal begining
As soon as the name entered my mind I had a horrible flashback as me and my tribe mates all picked the stones out of the hat, deciding our fate.I remember the look of absolute fear as my friend opened his hand and chose the black stone, sentencing him to literal hell. I looked around at my frends, the looks were mixed, alternating between fear relief and sadness. He walked away from the circle, most likely going to say goodbye to his family.
I snapped back to the present as I read over the board. I had already been informed about the rules concerning this quest, but it was still a shocking experience reading the board in person. I had been told repeatedly that if I didn't follow these rules Vechz would strike me down instantly, and I didn't doubt it for one second. After reading over the rules I sat down, counting my supplies. I came prepared though, same as everyone else sent on these quests I was given a magical travel bag. It had a limited amount of space, but could hold large objects in a very small space, defying the laws of physics. Such as lumber or chunks of stone. Oddly enough weight didn't effect the pack either. I reached down to the bottom of my pack and grabbed my tattered map. Although my tribe mates didn't know much about this continent they did have a general idea of weather of each section of it. It seemed in the central of the continent was a massive set of mountains. Outlying the mountains was a massive forest. Down south rivers separated the land apart. In the north east a jungle claimed a tip of the island. As far as the map was concerned past that it was just more plains. I decided I would head to the center of the continent and get a lay of the land, try to find this monument, And hopefully find a flag, or a "Wool" as my people call it. I prefer flag, sounds less silly. Almost like it's from a game.
Anyway, I started this journal as a sort of personal memoir of my adventures here. My people are relying on me to complete this quest and free my homeland. I can only hope my allies are able to do the same. Hell, Even if I come out dead hopefully the next person to come along will pry this out of my cold dead hands and learn a thing or two.
Chapter two: A Dangerous climb and wise choice.
This mountain was massive, and I mean massive. It reached all the way up into the clouds and beyond. Trees lived on the side of the massive earth creation. Minerals, mainly coal were embedded into the side of this mountain. Naturally the first thing I did was try to climb it. I found some footholds and kept climbing up the mountain for what felt like hours. When I finally reached the peak I was dissipointed, I hoped to find something note worthy. All I found was a gravel pit. I grabbed a few chunks of coal and slipped it into my bag. I then made a move to descend the mountain in the direction of the jungle. That's when things went horribly wrong. I started to slip down the icy slope, my limbs feeling more broken with each fall. Things got worse when one of Vechz undead archer's targeted me, One of his arrow's thudded into my chest making me fall even further, I felt like my legs were about to snap off. The life force was drifting out of me.. I was about to pass away when I saw my salvation down the mountain side. A stream of water was spilling out of the side, creating a sort of lake. I did what any crazy person would of done. .. I jumped.
The winds were whipping at me when I landed in the pool of icy cold water. I burst through the surface for air and took a deep breath. I floated for a moment while I ate a little, surprised that I wasn't dead. The only thoughts running through my head was the fact that I hadn't even found a flag yet, But I was almost dead. I swam out of the pool and was about to pass north around the second mountain when something sparked my interest. A stone structure was poking out of the side of the second mountain. Shelter! I thought. I scrambled up the mountain and climbed inside. I looked and trust me, It was quite the opposite. It was a deep cube staircase heading into the depths of the mountains. Monsters were roaming the halls, just waiting to kill me. I decided I'd wait until I was prepared. And carefully climbed down and made haste for the jungle.
Here you go!
Vechz.. I've been on this thread for 5 days.
...
5 days of complete fear and horror.
Conclusion: Yes, It's Lethamyr, What do you think of it?
I sort of want to make a journal for a map now... Maybe hostile trails... I just started that.
That would be neat! Too bad you're not going to give us any when we face one, just because.
Also, on the subject of entities, have you ever tried isolating floating minecarts? That would look cool for Inferno Mines.

THAT WOULD BE THE MOST AWESOME THING EVER! I would be excited to see floating minecarts...
Would look so cool.
*Starts sobbing*
The trick is to.. I don't know, imagine you were doing the actions in game in real life. So stabbing, eating, actually movement. Try and develop a character. How does he feel collecting the wool's Does he feel honor? Sadness? Fear? a fleshed out character drives the plot of a story.
Then again, I'm just some crazy guy spouting writing advice on the Internets. So take it with a grain of salt.
And on that note:
Chapter 4: The horrors of the earth.
I rolled to the ground, dodging it's long black arm, it then disappeared in a cloud of purple dust. I got up, my guard raised. I had trained for this for several years. The right of passage in my tribe, the entry to manhood. The tall black creature then screamed and teleported behind me. I moved quick and brought up a fist to where it appeared, causing it to recoil back. I put some distance between me and the beast, and drew my bow. I notched an arrow... This was it.
I stood up, looking around the room. The ghost was slain, as was several other undead creatures. I then saw a chest poking out of the corner of one of the rooms. Caustically I moved over to it, sword drawn. I flipped the lid and found assorted weapons armor and general tools in it. I gathered as many as would fit in my backpack and started exploring the secondary tunnels. They led down a central hall with more rooms. I cleared them with ease and made haste for the surface. I didn't realize how long I'd been down there until I came up and discovered the night sky shining down on me, a whole day must of passed while I was fighting down there.. I looked down in the reflection of the lake which the ruins were stationed in. My face was covered in blood and scratches, my helmet was missing, mostlikely lost in the fight for the flag. My pants were tatters, just leather barely hanging on my legs. I limped back to my platform, and started to heal myself, washing away the blood and healing the cuts. I then cut some more planks and began to build some makeshift walls for my platform, to protect me from the monsters. I began to make a sort of storage system, building chests into the walls and cutting name plates into the wood above the chests, sort of like an organisation system. I looked down at my map, seeing a massive desert stretching out towards the west. I stocked up on food, armor and weapons and head west, searching for another flag.
Hope you like it!
Vechz, This needs to be your new avatar,
Also: Awesome job!
