unarmed skeletons in Lush Ruins? They pose zero threat except as armor eaters. My only guess is that they are supposed to grab weapons and use them against you if a creeper blows up a loot chest, but most players are careful enough to avoid that, it seems.
If you give a skeleton custom equipment and forget to put a bow in the bow slot they will spawn with bare hands and attempt to beat you to death with them. I suspect this has a lot to do with unarmed skeletons showing up in various maps.
I actually like the skeletons as a melee enemy with the AI in it's current state. They are still decent at pathing, unlike cave spiders or zombie pigmen, but they don't gang up on you in swarms like zombies do now. Their ability to bludgeon things to death is sadly underutilized. :-3

Please only+ me if I post something funny or informative.
Also: I wonder if the new attribute system will allow for food that gives effects when eaten. And if there will be a tag to hide attributes. And if Vechs will poison all our cookies or not. :-3
This is such a great idea. If this is now a possibility, vechs will definitely be taking advantage of it

It is a possibility, AMLUP made a video about it and it scares me quite a bit because Vechs could just make it so something instantly kills you. I'll be cautious next time I eat in a SH map.
Mappers don't generally make maps for mods because it means your putting in the same effort (plus a little more, to learn how to use the mod) and sacrificing your powerful tools (MCEdit is the only thing that works, and everything still looks like a pink blob) for a smaller audience. Not to mention that CTM players and mappers have an extremely in-depth knowledge of Minecraft's mechanics which would need to be re-learned.
tldr;
1. Less audience
2. No good tools
3. Need to re-learn mechanics
4. Mods stop getting updated, ya lose audience if they do.
Vechs has stated that he does not like to make maps based around mods because sometimes the mod gets outdated or not updated anymore. Aether is a great example because before Aether II, the last version of the mod was released around a year ago. You can ask someone else, but as for Vechs, I know he stands firm on that policy.
You have to admit though, if there was an MCedit filter that made using The Aether II: Genesis of the Void possible, it would be awesome if there was a map based around it.

Yeah, that would be a good map... Also consider the fact that that would give the mapmaker a greater palette to make better, nicer, eviler areas (is that even a word?).

From now on, I will never eat anything or drink any potion that I did not farm or brew myself. This may be a bit extreme but in some of the more difficult ROMHACK hard maps it may actually be necessary.

I bet if Vechs added more loot to Nightmare Realms (or even remade it) he would make it so every piece of food you find takes you down to half health, although you don't get much food from Vechs to worry about that much.

Don't underestimate this. I died in that general area from like 10 of them swarming me and I died 2 more times after that. Once by my new overpowered sword and then again by my badass bow.
@poisoned cookies: That's not very nice. Then haon would be in a vortex dying.
In this episode of Inferno Mines, we do stuff. Or something. I'm pretty sure this is one of those episodes where we spend a lot of time doing nothing :D.
I personally hope that no mappers secretly add negative attributes to food/potions/whatever else. It's a banana move, nothing more, and completely unfair on the player because they have no way to tell if the hard earned resources they find are actually useful or just a waste of inventory space. Having to be paranoid about every piece of loot I pick up for hidden bad things isn't fun at all.
Vechs is typically a very fair mapmaker, so I'm sure he will be aware of this.

True, but i think it would be nice if in an area with very little food you get steak that takes away a few hearts, making the player choose whether to have a full hunger bar or a little less health.
Also, you should be able to change how much of the hunger bar food restores, so say a cookie that adds 8 food hearts (i dont know what they're called) but poisons you.
He's riding a piston monorail.
