SI update included edits to several dungeons to include custom mobs. Sadly, this means Dungeon 2 is now a cheapy loser, while every other dungeon is still pretty easy until 15 + 16.
I just used a decoy for dungeon 2. I was playing it with my friend and while he ran around aggroing mobs on him i mined 2 stacks of iron and got the wool. Never went below half-health. And we weren't planning on doing this, it just sorta happened. But dungeon 15 was a huge pain, and on 16 i only had trouble on the entrance. (the last two were done on singleplayer)
Should the Super Hostile maps have some sort of difficulty meter for each area? Maybe like if the area name is green, it's an easy area, or if it's red, it's a tough area. That would fix Sunburn Islands, IMO, because you'd know not to do dungeon 2 at the beginning of the map. Or you'd at least be more cautious about it.

Netherstorm and DDD got a serious difficulty spike. #2 isn't so bad if you just rush for the wool and get out.
Those areas aren't extremely hard, it's just a matter of figuring out the right strategy for each. Which tends to be get the resources found there and then come back with good armor. If you just rush your way through without surveying it first, you tend to die. But, if you take it on when you know what your doing, it's perfectly fine.

For #2, just take it slow. For Netherstorm, just take it fast. (See Sunburn Islands episode 17 ;)) For DDD, well... I won't spoil it for you.

You do know I've already finished right? I said it a couple pages ago.
I know, I was saying that for the benefit of the masses.

You like cheesy puns right? Read the last 2 pages of this thread, you should have fun.
I was actually reading though them and was almost in tears the whole time haha! I love the CTM community they always know how to make me laugh:3
On another note, Last night myself and Cthulhu started a new Super Hostile series LP ( It wont be up for a while, Inferno mines is still running) and we decided to play this map in its former glory... 1.7.3. I never actually played 1.7.3 but I watched the hell out of other players using it, and I have to say what a change! Everything is so different now, having to remember you need to eat food for health, you can now push your team member again, mobs can push you, bows stink but are fully automatic >:] ..... and Vechs was much eviler with traps . I'm actually excited to see how many people will actually watch a 1.7.3 Super hostile because it is so "out dated"
The main difference for me is the sounds. I was playing Canopy Carnage in 1.7.3 a couple months ago, and I got hurt and almost jumped out of my chair.

Yes! I'm loving the old sounds; damage, doors, etc. Maybe I should find a retro sound pack to use for my other LPs. I assume something like that exists?

Probably. Also, I wonder if there's a mod that fixes Minecraft's sound problems... That would be nice in places like the magic school place in SC. All dem blazes break my sounds.

I wouldn't be surprised. The amazing modding community usually seems to fix issues quicker and better than Mojang (lighting glitches, dynamic lighting, etc.)
People find it more easier than any other Super Hostile. Infernal Sky II is also as easy as Spellbound Caves but people are afraid of Void. Sunburn Islands isn't a choice now. And that's why Spellbound Caves is chosen the most.

Let me know your thoughts!
I remember when I was playing Kaizo Caverns in 1.7.3 (no let's play, it would be 5fps lp), that was awesome experience, playing Super Hostile when they were really hardest maps in Minecraft.
Maybe I would watch this let's play but I don't think I have that much time. :c
The problem that most people had was that he spent such a long time on the map, yet it didn't meet the standards of his previous ones. What might seem "rushed" could possibly just be poor execution of the new features, like cramming most of the later areas full of custom/stacked mobs, or bad difficulty curving.
Now stop talking about IM already, we get it. It wasn't as good of a map, and we don't want other maps like it. Unless you're doing your own review about it, like some people do, it would be best to acknowledge it's cons silently.
This is probably a pretty late reply, but why acknowledge them silently? I'm as big a fan of the Super Hostile series as the rest of the people on this thread, but I don't see why you're trying to discourage discussion of the flaws in maps. The more prominent the users in the forums make these flaws appear, the more inclined Vechs might be to fix them in Inferno Mines or at least he'll be sure to avoid them in the future. No, I'm not saying that we should pester Vechs, but if we act as if his maps are perfect and only discuss the well-done parts of the maps, nothing will get done about the problems. He needs to know both the greatest and the worst parts of his maps.

I think the terrain generator should make big billboards, at least one per chunk, that advertise various things like Cheetos or Dr. Pepper. Would really improve gameplay.

It's probably because the vocal minority keep complaining and complaining and complaining about it so much it spams the forums

Alright, seems fair enough. I didn't really take notice to much of the complaint spam, but I'm sure I could find it buried back there if I decided to look.
Anyway, more on topic, I've enjoyed most of IM and actually thought it was one of Vechs's better maps. There were a few areas I found unfair (I'm probably just terrible at SH maps like I've always been, though. ), but I think the scenery in the many areas more than makes up for it. He definitely put a lot of effort into creating some of those scenic vistas.
