It's just lava and netherrack. Heck, the lava is isolated away from you, to be less horrible.
I mean, it's not like they could somehow spawn blocks of flowing lava from spawners all around the edge, or fill the area with ladders and bombs hooked up to ladders, or make it rain enraged baby pig zombies with Knockback 127 wooden swords with a damage value of 4000, or wire up those ladder bombs to destroy every logical place to put your bed, or add proximity detectors that teleport you to a 255 block fall into lava, or do ANYTHING.
Because even if they did, we would still continue on, conquering the dungeons and surviving the traps, regardless of what horrible things they had done.
(unless they took away our cool loot. then we cry and stop playing.)

Allocators are no longer the future, we have Hoppers now. I still like them, though.

I've got a fair share of cool loot in my area. It's very difficult but it yields some nice gems. I'll name one of the more prominent, called "The Fisher." Fishing Rod with Knockback X, Looting X, Sharpness X, and Unbreaking X. Essentially, you grab onto an enemy with the bobber, reel them in and punch them, knocking them back hardcore and killing them. And if you can find where they died, the Looting gives you a nice reward. It's essentially the main weapon of the area. Fishing Rod warfare is really fun, and I think players are going to like using it.

Knockback X...like the Zistonian Space program?
Sharpness X...like my special stick from Gift?
Looting X...like Ragefell x3.3?
Unbreaking X...like Death Sentence?

I can already tell that this map will be amazing. Red's area sounds fun, three_two's area will be breathtaking, and all the areas will be very diverse, kind of like Legendary. I can't wait.

You just sort of popped in the IRC and left. Be less boring.
Is it fair to ask who made the first and last areas of Pantheon?
Sure... Kerblahh is doing the starting area, but I won't spoil who's doing the later areas. The harder it is, the more surprises are in store, and knowing who it is detracts from that, I think.
I'm so surprised at that. After all, he really hasn't done that many death fortresses.
That was sarcasm, for the really, really slow people out there. I suspect that this will be an unholy mixture of Netherstorm Citadel, Rageshadow Citadel, Creepy Creeper Castle, Jester's Citadel, and Black Heart Citadel, with Inventory Wipe Horror Festival tossed in for fun.
A question for those who are "knowledgeable" of (or just lucky with) Waking Up:
Is there a chicken spawner in the victory monument area? I started off with one chicken wandering around which I caught and trapped, then hatched another from its egg, but now, quite a long while later, another chicken appeared on the shore and I can't for the life of me figure out where from... Was it just glitch-trapped for all this time or did I actually activate something? :S
Thanks for answering my questions, it's reasurring to know you've thought these things over. However I have one last question:
How are you going to handle size? Are you worried that each CTM maker will want his area to be the biggest and bestest, and then we end up having a map that takes forever to complete, or are some makers restricted by size?

That's three mass invasions within the same bloody month! I mean, seriously! The UDTU is attacking now, Blue has a sleeper attack coming soon, and now an invasion by space pirates? What is this, Russia if every american-made FPS happened at once?! - MagicallyDwarven

We All Burn
This is more of a statement than a question, but I'm expecting lots of cool enchanted loot. Everyone likes to give loot, and now we have a bunch of people to give it!
Okay guys, not a page get, but I need to get this out there. Someone can quote this on the next page get to ensure it's seen.
ProjectCTM presents the first in a line of (hopefully many) meta-CTM-maps ... PANTHEON.
Teasers will come and go randomly, so keep watching this thread (and threads of other CTM maps) for teasers! Official, confirmed information is guaranteed on this account.
Can you please post all of the teaser pics here? I don't check any other CTM threads. :/

CTM maps beaten: Sea of Flame II, Infernal Sky II, Kaizo Caverns, Black Desert, Legendary, Nightmare Realm, Sunburn Islands, Spellbound Caves, Lethamyr, Waking Up
Something stupidly bizarre just happened to me on Waking Up. Has this happened to anyone else?
I was in Helix Cavern, building my path ready to lay down some track, and exited the game because it was getting laggy (my laptop normally does - sometimes I have to regularly restart Minecraft because of it, so it definitely wasn't out of the ordinary.) When I went back in, however, it was raining. For some bizarre reason, I'd spawned on the bedrock ceiling of the map. :s
I hadn't died, because my inventory was still in tact, so I have no idea why it did this. But yeah, I ran around a bit in creative, trying to find the open top of the spawn area, but soon gave up and just dug down. Ended up in Grove of Shrooms, my old base still in tact as well... am now leading a mooshroom (with creative mode wheat) back to my victory monument, because hell, I need something from Jeb to make up for his glitchy-ass game, right?
Hopefully everything will be fine when I get back to Helix...
That's known as the SMP 'logavator'. Now that SMP and SSP have been merged, you've inherited a lot of bugs. This being one of them. You probably didn't log out in a place where you had a lot of air above your head. If you did, welcome to Minecraft, we have bugs.

Could we know what spawn difficulty this map will be? I'm assuming not hard, but from there I don't really know.
Easy. Basic, simple respawn - you die, you spawn at spawn or wherever a bed is.
