Ragequit Journal:
Just ragequit Spellbound Caves. Here's how it went.
First White Wool Dungeon: Went off without a hitch. Killed the spawners with a scary moment when I was mobbed by Silverfish and a few spiders.
Tenuous Crystals: Missed several arrows trying to destroy the Ghast/Blaze spawners at the beginning. Scary moment when I was pinned down by three Blazes (Blazes are way OP). Failed to destroy the Skeley spawners, but used the feather boots to jump off the tower. Got the iron, too.
Black Library: Used the iron to make a bucket, and obsidianed the lava below the main area, and got the wool. Scary moment when I fell of one of the bridges. Also got the bookshelf maze wool w/o a hitch.
Arcane Enchants: Stormed the outer area, and scored my first death (Dang OP Blazes). Got my stuff back, and immediatley died again (Frickin' blazes!) Got my stuff back, and moved on to Fleeception, and got it easily. When I returned to the school, I tunneled in and sprinted down to the labs. Scored the Efficiency/Unbreaking Iron Pickaxe, and broke the outer Blaze spawners. Died once getting the wool, but got it back. I managed to kill the Ghast spawners around the portal, but was bested once more by, you guessed it, Blazes. Decided to move on to Rumbling Cavern (Dark Willows just isn't my style.).
Rumbling Caverns: Entered, got the stone tools (W/o setting off the proximity bomb.) Secured the pink wool, but one of the gravel bridges fell because of a creeper, and I fell into the lava. Lost my diamond sword, full iron armor, my potions, and the Battlesign. after a slight rage, I mustered a few more stone tools, mined some iron, and got back at it. Then, after bridging a gap between two gravel bridges, I found myself besieged by a zombie, a creeper, and a skeleton. I sliced up the zombie, dashed away from the creeper, but was ultimately knocked back into his sizzling grasp by an arrow. Knocked into the lava once more, I immediatley returned to the menu and deleted the map. I got the white, orange, light blue, pink, light grey, and brown wools along with the Iron block.
So I heard you like Blazes. Try Kaizo next.

SH maps beaten: Sea of Flame II, Infernal Sky II, Kaizo Caverns, Nightmare Realm, Sunburn Islands, Spellbound Caves, Waking Up and counting....
Lord, give me strength. On topic: Hey Vechs, will you update the VM to support Emerald Blocks in future maps?
You called? Also, what with how villagers and emeralds work (and how it would be cool to have villagers giving epic loot) vechs probably most defintely won't put the emerald block on the victory monument.
Ok I have been reading this thread for a while and I have come to the conclusion that a bunch of you are veterans seeing as you post a lot and give good advice, I was wondering since none of my friends play minecraft do any of you want to do a co-op play of a SH map?
Hey! I love the maps and I just thought I would provide some feedback on them and things that would make me even more interested in them in the future.
My favorite thing (aside from the gameplay) in your maps were the huge intersections (such as in legendary). I love variety in the intersections, as well as in the dungeon types and assortments.
These are great maps keep the good work up! (P.S. I'm looking forward to inferno mines very much!)
I've actually done the exact same ones.
(except I havent finished NR, so I guess you're still better)
I keep procrastinating on Nightmare Realm, thought I have it downloaded, because I don't really like it.
It's the kind of map where there's very little supporting loot, and you're forced to move very slowly.
I know some people like that whole resource-management-harvest-and-farm-everything-and-spend-more-time-farming-than-adventuring style *ahempigman*, but I can only make myself finish shorter maps with lots of lewt, which is why Blight Castle and Spellbound Caves were perfect.
I guess I'm just weird.
(if anyone knows any maps like that that would be excellent)
I dunno, but for me it's been a little different regarding loot. I mean yeah there's never really any great loot, but I found enough of the stone tools/food chests as I went along to last me until I had access to iron and actual cobblestone, and accumulated enough bones for plenty of bread. Honestly the only thing I've felt compelled to really farm so far was sandstone from the caves of madness, to use as a bridging material. That being said, I'm pretty sure that in a map like that you have to get a somewhat fast and good start, or else you would get slowed down waiting on food and tools and the like. But in any case, good luck to you!
And yeah as for maps like that, definitely infernal sky has plenty of loot and isn't too tough; sunburn islands not as much loot but no real troubles with basic resources like in NR.

Hmmm, I would do it, but I don't have a headset for my computer. We would have to stick to the chat box.
(Page get!)

Dont get me wrong, I love tough maps and areas in them, just not the time and effort it tskes to get to the point where you can beat them .
Also thanks for the suggestions.
The secret to winning the Sea of Flame without as much difficulty is to not fall in lava.
The true secret is here, but don't look at it unless you want the spoiler or you've finished the map
Go to the Cathedral (with the pig statue) and go to the Nether with an iron pick from the Rotten Caves. Mine the diamonds, get full diamond armor and go forth to conquer. This has been a huge advantage for me on my 2nd attempt at this map. I have 5 blocks and I'm moving along quickly.

Sandstone for bridging? In Nightmare Realm? You might want something with a little more blast resistance, ghasts can destroy sandstone easily.
I was getting bored with Minecraft, the fun was coming to an end, I had tried all the great maps but everything was just to easy. I was done with Minecraft... until i met you. I LOVE the super hostile maps, they make the game harder and SO much more fun. one of the few things i didnt like about minecraft was that i never felt like i was acomplishing anying. but the Super Hostile maps gave me a goal to look forward too and i love you for that. Thank you so much

Oh yeah, absolutely that makes things much easier. Actually,
It's even better if you go to the nether with Rockbane, that super awesome enchanted diamond pickaxe, which has Looting III. Soooooo satisfying watching all the diamonds dropping around you.
But that will definitely give you a leg up on the rest of the map.

Yeah you're probably right, I was mostly using it though for getting safely around winter wonderhell
(I hate holding shift the entire time, so a little safe path)
, and I wasn't finding any ghast spawners around there. Also, easy way (especially in Nightmare Realm) to kill Endermen. First, light a fire using a flint & steel underneath one. Then, challenge it to a staring contest, while he's sitting there taking fire damage, shouldn't port away or anything. Once it's been burning for awhile, you may want to put out the fire and finish it yourself, or just let him burn all the way if you're ok with an eyeball burning once in awhile.
Anybody want to play a super hostile map with me, (sea of flame II if possible) You do not need a head-set or anything, becuase i don't have one. We can just stick to the chat-box. age does not matter, just as long as your good at minecraft.PM me if your interested

Put that in spoilers!
