Overview: I've always enjoyed just playing around in survival building my own things and of course, I love to explore. This map is exactly that - a map to play through in survival mode with a very large number of unique monuments, caves, and landscapes that are handcrafted. Many locations are not completely "polished" as it is the intent for the player to build that area up if they wish to settle there and not take away creative possibilities from the player. If people enjoy this idea hopefully over time I can expand the concept and add more unique monuments, buildings, caves, and adventurous dungeons to explore and complete. At the very least this map should be " :ohmy.gif: What's that on the horizon? " rather than the typical minecraft "More of the sameeee, hope theres a cave over here".
Landscape:
The entire map is covered in sand and trees are a luxury. You will be able to find saplings and wood out exploring (also starting with some), creating your first treefarm will not be an incredibly easy task which will hopefully add some difficulty to the game and something a bit more out of the usual in minecraft. If you do explore too far out of the generation and begin to see grass and trees it is recommended you return. Things you wouldn't normally be able to find in a desert (flowers, clay, ect) are placed around to not have it excluded. There are more cave systems then I believe one person could explore.
There is a fair bit of difficulty in some areas and traps within a few locations/buildings.
Achievements:
Mostly, a list of things to keep things interesting when you are not sure what to do:
Grow the Sacred tree or Destroy the monument
Find a Pharaohs tomb
Create an irrigation system without using any buckets
Create a tree farm
Rebuild a ruin
Find a Pumpkin
Clear the unfinished Subway of all monsters
Discover a Squid Spawner
Completely destroy an Obelisk
Find the treasure in the Giant antlion hole
Find Water in the Nether
Find Grass in the Nether
Find Diamonds in the Nether
Rules:
Friendly suggestions! Don't play on Peaceful and if you start to exit the desert generation, turn back. Hard mode is definitely what this was intended for.
Future Updates:
I wanted this to be a colossal mash of caves, dungeons, and ruined cities. Unfortunately, the scope of which I want to release this in is nearly infinite, so hopefully over time I can add more and more locations to discover and quest through. All input is considered~ Remember, it is a work in progress. The goal was to have endless things to want to go and explore - but I have to give it a break and try to release it sometime xD
TODO:
Expand the Nether with new unique places to explore
Add more megastructures that hold dungeons/traps
More more and more of more
Add 'minor' treasures such as cobble pick axes in appropriate places
:ohmy.gif: Let me know your channel :tongue.gif:
I'll be sure to watch and tell some people about it
My friend's the one who records (my computer doesn't have enough RAM to record Minecraft :/) and I'm just waiting for him to finish up some stuff, then we'll be able to record. Our channel name is ThemForsakenGamers. :smile.gif:
Added several underground rooms nobody is likely to find - couple other cave connections - small pyramid - added a few obilisks for atmosphere
Sweeeet.... we haven't had a chance to LP it yet. We're going to do it either tonight or tomorrow night (possibly start it tonight, not sure yet though). I'll make sure I update it to the latest before we start! :biggrin.gif:
I played it and I really like the idea of this! How did you get such a large sandy area with mountains which collapse since they are made out of sand - did you use a program? I especially liked the large pyramid, some traps were obvious but I activated them anyway since i wanted to see what happened! :biggrin.gif:
Combination of a BioterrainMod generation and some hands on tweaking within the game. Perhaps I'll add some more :smile.gif: Didn't want SUPER traps to completely wreck you - Not yet anyway
Glad you enjoyed it!

Just downloaded this and filmed my first 13 or so minutes of playing. processing it right now, will upload to my channel and link when its done. ;D
So far I really like what ive seen, I havent got to see much yet though.
Just uploaded, so its processing still, but watchable.
part one. will continue playing and have more parts up tomorrow probably ;D
*note* the first part is slightly out of synch. will make sure that wont happen again. its only apparent at certain parts.
Also niicht, what would be the pronunciation of your screen name? :tongue.gif:
Going to go ahead and try and watch right now
To avoid saying Niichts - You can just call me STAR. People have been mis-pronouncing it for years so I'm slowly trying to switch it over :tongue.gif:
This looks awesome. Downloading now, trying it out tomorrow. I guess I might aswell do a recording of me playing it, meh, will post again tomorrow about what I like about the map etc and possibly a LP.
Update to V1.24:
-Various additions, mostly underground connections and rooms.
-More minor tweaks
-Now that I'm actually getting to see people play this, I'm quickly learning things that need improvement/which areas should be improved because people gravitate towards them. Looking forward to working on it more, but i believe I am done with the minor updates for some time to make something a bit more involved.

My friend and I are going to try it out and do a dual commentary LP of it, so maybe two people will be able to explore all the caves. :tongue.gif:

-More very minor tweaks.
-Changed one big empty room to actually have some uniqueness to it.
I'd like to add a few more megastructures/very long complex dungeon somewhere - sometime soon. But long complex dungeons take time...damn..
Going to go ahead and try and watch right now
To avoid saying Niichts - You can just call me STAR. People have been mis-pronouncing it for years so I'm slowly trying to switch it over :tongue.gif:
And aight I'll use STAR in the future. I attempted to say Niichts in this one, and likely failed aha.
And yeah I definitely DE-Accomplished in the first episode aha. The amount of enemies was rediculous.

True, edited that out. Problem with some of the random gen, dirt/gravel weren't supposed to appear underground.
