So far I'm loving the concept of this map. We haven't started yet, but I have it all set up and ready for tonight.
I used Borderguard to put up an impassable border so we don't stray from the game area when we're underground. I hope everything underground is self contained.
I did have a question and a suggestion though.
The question would be: For the challenges, once they're earned, unless otherwise stated, can we reuse the materials?
For example the Diamond achievement. Once we have the 64 diamond and the challenge is met, could I add it to the tracking board as earned and then reuse the diamond, then tally it at the end of the map?
The suggestion, you said you love to do the grave marker restriction a lot. Ever thought about using two chests as a "coffin", burying it at the marker under one layer of dirt?
so... i just found secret
#5 and i dug below it and i found a giant thing o dirt, good right? so as soon as i dig it all out i find diamond better right??? NOW I REALIZE TERE WAS 8 of it!?!?!??!?!?!?! amazing :biggrin.gif:

So I downloaded this map a couple of weeks ago an I hav been vaguely playing with it
Now I decided to make a post on my first Real attemt at the map this is try
I am a stolid vegetarian I am disgusted of the process of butchering animals therefore I will not eat meat.
I walk out of the cabin and explore the ship... I find 3 importaint things:
1 the masts are made of useable lumber.
2 there is a grass block onbard the ship
3 in the keel of the ship there is a large amount of gravel there is also the kings ransom of gold as well as the cannons of the ship in the holds, both of these could be sources of useable metal.
I see a light by the seabed at nightimeI feel robust now that I have a goal I wish to find the source of this light.
I believe that my time of sickness is now over for good.
i have built a vertical gravel structure that is partaily cleared of water the structure is 5 x 5 and rest atop of the lava tube the lava which i am currently removing using the two buckets i found aboard the ship.
Progress is slow at the moment as I could not avoid flooding the lava cave.
progress is slow:

I have made a small base where the sign for secret #2 is.
I shall use the signs of the secrets I have found to keep my score.
I have now harvested most of the useable materials to be found aboard the ship an am now going to be spending a great deal of time inside my base
I have drawn up a scorebaord but I dont know what "Iron man challenge" refers to as that is not a described mode.
I shall now go on the hunt for dirt.
I discover that to the left of the #2 secret there is a giant vein of clay! as I explore and harvest this clay with my stone shovel I come upon a #4 secret: the rumbling cave to my great surprise there appears to be a creeper dungeon inside!
I run quickly back to base and grab one of my lava buckets. I clear out those green menaces with lava!
Once placing one of my buckets of lava I partially explore the cave I goes downwards for quite a bit.
shortly I find to my delight that there is fertile earth lieing in the depths.
Suddenly I spy a torch which I definetly did Not place and I hear the groan of zombies nearby!
after harvesting much dirt and some iron ore I head back to my base.
After returning to the surface I swim up to the ship and cultivate the single sample of grass at my disposal.
after placing dirt nearby I plant a tree and a sugarcane.
I then focus on producing solid land using the remaining gravel.
after calibrating my eternal cobblestone generator I realize that I might just have a hope of buildting my island as long as i have a renewable source of wood I will never lack for tools or building materials. I have decidied to stock up on cobbestone so that I may build my watchtower.
I have been temporaliy diverted, now I have built a sort of path of dirt covered in sugarcane over to where my solid land island will be so as to bring the grass there.

it will obviously be CHOCOLATE ORE
used to make cocoa beans and CHOCOLATE CAKE and CHOCOLATE INGOTS
CHOCOLATE INGOTS will be used to make CHOCOLATE TOOLS which are obviously much stronger than diamond and also may be eaten if you are hungry.
i was bored and made a fake little journal that my survivor wrote. enjoy :biggrin.gif:

I've decided to keep a journal since my time here is likely short unless i can find a way to survive. im going to start exploring the ship for useful items.
i have found a fishing rod and tend to do much fishing to get food. ive chopped down the masts for lumber and found the large supply of gold in the ship. im going to whittle tools all day tomorrow out of gold most likely, because it seems to be the only way i can survive until rescuers come.

When i found a chest underneath the floor i knew it was the ballast and decided "forget the ballast! i need this to reach the ocean floor to get coal for light!" i removed the ballast and jumped off the boat to begin making a crude shaft and stairs to the bottom of the ocean. while i was off the ship it sunk...

I've been wandering the caves for a while and i need to get back up to harvest the remaining lumber from the ship, but the seemingly endless bounty of coal has kept me down here. if i don't get back up soon i might get *sssss* disentegra- *BOOM*
i survived but i am now out of food, i just hope another does not come *ssssss* oh god *BOOM* *dead*
Personally, I suck at these types of maps. I need an objective. Now, for Survival Island, there's NOTHING. But it's obvious, I know you're supposed to just cut down the tree, takes it's saplings, then dig under, the X, or other than that version, the 1.2, just cover up the holes in the grass, but leave one of the holes (the big cave) for shelter.
And I'm confused on what to do, I took all of the items inside of the rooms Above deck, Like, in the starting room, across from that room, and outside on the deck. And I heard that the sea's ground is Clay? I almost died trying to dig about 3 blocks of it, it was all sand..I mean, I guess I dug the wrong place, but still. I'll TRY and continue to play, but I'll doubt that I get anything out of it.
EDIT:I'm completely failing at the map. I'm just going to quit, I have no doubts that it was a good map, I just was horrible at it.
I'm having the hardest time getting animals to spawn. I've got about 200 grass blocks and nothing spawns, not even during the day. I've tried watching it from afar (~35 blocks), standing right on it, and going down into the caves and coming back but those buggers don't want to spawn. Anyone else having this problem?
