Wow, who would know a small change made such a difference :smile.gif: Vastly more aesthetically pleasing. The coloring still a bit off, but that's just my twisted perfectionist mind talking D: This is a great effort, have a GIANT CREEPER BIG ENOUGH TO BLOW UP YOUR CITY FOR YOUR EFFORTS :biggrin.gif:
If you're still looking for ideas there's the Chrysler Building and the Hearst Tower. The Hearst Tower, in my opinion, looks really modern and awesome :biggrin.gif:
heh, the Chrysler building im going to get started on. It seems like a short enough building where I can actually make it to scale without losing too much detail
With your permission, and if you wish, I can post your nickname, or a name of your wish by these buildings claiming they were your idea. So when I post this map, you'll receive credit
Yeah, The_Winged is fine. That's pretty awesome and nice of you and all, but all I did really did was throw some names around :L
Hey, you're helping by giving me some good ideas. Working on the Hearst Tower atm. The chrysler building is on hold atm, having some scaling issues, lol.
Just.... wow.... incredible. Nice textures btw :smile.gif: I would never build something this large in minecraft, not even with a programm O_O Im lazy :biggrin.gif:
I give you! the Hearst Tower! Thank you "The_Winged" for the idea.
Did my best with the giant blocks in minecraft to make those darned Triangles, Still working on it, the interior is a WIP. But this is her so far! Hope you like folks!
And here is a shot of the interior of the building
The Hearst Tower is pretty cool, although with the limitations of well...having cubes as your only material, your effort is certainly admirable. The interior is unbelievably close to the real thing. I apologise for the difficulties of this request. I didn't realise what a pain the horizontal lines and mirrors would pose. An idea for this one, as the day sky in Minecraft is always blue, save for clouds of course, you could use a light blue texture for the mirror parts of the building? Just another suggestion of course. And if you are looking for bridges, the Sydney Harbour Bridge in Australia is a pretty cool one, but as I am writing this, I realise the arch is um, round. For buildings, I'm stumped. Maybe the Burj Khalifa or the Dubai thing :L

I personally don't mind the jagged traingles, the building overall is pretty decent and really adds to the overall city. Might spend a day or two working on small buildings to fill in gaps, and decorating the streets.
Added a blue block behind the glass, this is the turnout. Looks a bit better actually.

Looks amazing, The blue block is just the right colour. Good ingenuity and thinking out of the box :biggrin.gif: It's perfect.
... Download link... Please... That's beautiful and you just gave me the best idea ever. First I'll wait for a DL link, then I'll edit the map in singleplayer/mcedit and break/delete (or replace) most of the lightstone. Then I'll encase the map in adminium to make it perma-dark and inescapable. Finally, add various hostile mob spawners and chests with items. Upload to server, zombie survival fun in da city with friends! :biggrin.gif:
Sorry bout that, always end up thinking about how zombies can make something better. But like I said, this is great, I already think it's awesome!
Something you might want to know about, Flatworlds. I cant remember exactly where, but I downloaded a map that some guy made, it was a 1000x1000block flate area at 6 blocks from the bottom of the map (so no adminium) and everything is grass. It's perfect for large projects, you could download that map, and move all this into it, then you could make life sized structures :ohmy.gif:
I think you'll find it with the search function, if you're interested.
Keep it up!

Empire State Building - Due to height restrictions, the scale is very small, so i couldn't insert floors :sad.gif: still not done though
we'll you look like an experienced mapper , you have very nice architect ideas , you can edit the map to make height restriction higher , for your empire state building , just download mcedit open your map there and choose all of your city and nudge it with the green nudge down , so you can be able to make higher buildings it will take blocks from the deepness and put them in the highness , if you want we can merge our maps together to be the best city in minecraft
Dude, if you need help and Skype, tell me in PM, i tell you my skype.
I am good builder in MCEdit
i need help , i cant use the nudge i want to nudge my city down to 25 blocks , but wont nudge it will crash because the city is soo big what should i so ? i want to make it lower to make higher skyscrapers

Actually, i've already done that lol. My height limit atm is 104 blocks, I could go lower but then my Dam is going to be hurt.
So instead i'm going to lower the land level on the other side of the lake/river and it'll give me 20 extra blocks for height

What you could do is highlight your whole city and export it as a Schematic. Then, backup your save file, then delete the whole city and delete the land all the way down to w/e block height you want. Then you import your schematic of your city and drop it on that lower area you made. Just have to make sure the area is wide/long enough for your city :tongue.gif:
Back again, with a new building. Again this one is for show and has no accessible floors, cept for the Garage at the base. The next structure I build will have accessible floors.
I am also building a "neighborhood" on the other side of the Bridge, this area will hold houses, etc. So, if you have a nice modern looking house of decent size you wish to have in this city, or just wish to contribute, Use MCEdit to export it as a schematic, host it, i'll download it and place it into this city.
it'll help my progress, and once this city is done your name will be placed in the credits. I'll also place your name on the building itself via a sign, or if you wish to do so by all means.
Oh, and the new structure! -ONE FINANCIAL SQUARE, NEW YORK-
New building is highest standard, as usual, some more ideas are 40 Wall Street, the roof of which, I think Diamond will do justice.
A colourful option is the Carnegie Hall Tower which has glazed bricks of multiple colours.
That Bank of Manhatten building is very large at the base, and is attached to another building it seems. I'll give it a go. Thanks for the link - again!
I've made a skyscraper/hotel in the past and still remember the plans for it. I'll do my best to show it on this forum (Large amount of smilies!)
= Either cobblestone or a better looking block
[] = Air
= Empty Chest
= Furnace with two coal in it
= Torch

= Wood or a better looking block

= Sign saying what floor it's on
= Black wool with sign(s) on all possible sides
= White wool with sign(s) on all possible sides
First Floor (I will start from the bottom layer and work my way up)
Layer 0 (Ground for First Floor)
It took me about an hour to make those and get them perfect, so I hope you consider it! I added in some new things to the plan, so I think I'll make a 2 or 3 story model so it makes more sense. Also, I recommend that you do NOT, under any circumstances, quote this post. The effects can be nauseating...
