Another night, so many mobs at night, finally finished my house of sandstone, hard to collect the sand-wood tools are crap :/, another challenge complete: Boom goes the dynamite! And i have a question: i dig couple of blocks away from my house and there is bedrock, what is it for?
Well, behind that bedrock in the lower levels of the pyramid!

Hey look buddy, I'm a builder. That means I build custom maps. Not maps like "Escapecraft 3", because that would fall within the purview of your idea of most puzzle maps. I build adventure maps. For instance, how am I going to allow some big old forum user to enjoy adventure to the fullest? The answer? Use a pyramid. And if that don't work, use more pyramid. Like this big, old, dusty pyramid designed by me. Built by me. And you'd best hope... being played by you.
I think you shouldnt give people water, i know a lot of people who are ninjas when they get a bucket of water (i consider myself one too), destroying traps with water is too easy.
Good map btw, i had a lot of fun playing it :biggrin.gif:
I didnt die D:
the trap i most liked was the one at the end, but i think there should be lava up there too, so it would be like a self destruction system to protect the tomb and since lava falls slowly, you would still have time to save yourself
--Day Six--
I gather resources, and kill two Creepers. I grew a tree, and cut it down, then made eight more charcoal nuggets.
I retrieve more sand, and throw it into the furnace. Now,I trek to the Pyramid, and delve deeper.
After slaying countless Zombies (all kill counts will now stop),I find a passage with a solid gold block at the end.
Sadly,I don't take it,as I don't have the appropriate pick to take it. I discover a chest,and within was a single
torch, two sand blocks, and a small collection of dim red torches. Interesting...
I now leave the Pyramid, since I'm low on torches.
--Night Six--
It's night when I leave! The coast seems clear,so I make a balls-to-the-wall run for my home! I get inside,
kill a Spider that got in,and place my new chest. I now have three double chests;I won't be at want for
storage space again. I complete the glass roof over my farm. This Pyramid is incredible...A marvel.
But I must keep my wits sharp;there are many deadly things beneath it's elegant surface.
I spent the entire night playing this map. It's masterfully created, challenging, and loads of fun! The first time I played it I didn't do anything with the items in the chest, just grabbed some useful items and went into the pyramid... after dying multiple times and losing everything I decided to reload the map lol. The second time around was much better.
The first day I dug into the ground near the grass patch, created some more sandstone, and built a little fort with pit traps for monsters. Then, after I used the coal to make torches and light up my surrounding area, I dug a hole in the grass area and placed the water there. I planted seeds around the water and planted the tree on the other side. After my tasks were done I sealed up the entrance to my mini-fort and waited for morning.
The next day I collected the items left by the dead undead (? lol) and then chopped down and planted more trees. I spent a couple nights building up my fort and collecting wood until I had enough tools and torches made from charcoal to take a trip into the pyramid. I left most of my items in my fort and took only what I needed to kill off some undead and evade traps. I collected "treasure" from the first few chests and set off traps on purpose so I could figure out how to get to the other chests. After I collected enough treasure, I went back to my fort and waited until morning.
After a couple days more of doing this and tending to my tree and wheat farm, I got smart and decided to go spider hunting. With enough silk I made a couple bows and a bed! After once again securing what I needed, I headed back in. Instead of lugging my loot back to my fort a couple hundred times, I decided to use "safe" chests to store what I didn't need, in certain locations, and go in deeper. I still died multiple times but I didn't lose as much as I could have. Eventually I got better at spotting traps, stopping at doorways and being wary of passages and rooms and such.
I don't know how long I spent inside the pyramid toward the end my a couple of the last traps did indeed kill me. Eventually I reached the treasure room... boy was I impressed! I was also impressed by the mean-streak the author of this map had :tongue.gif: but I still enjoyed the crap outta it, frustrations and all!
Thank you so much for making this! I hope you'll think about making another like it!
--Day Seven--
I go about my usual routine;go outside and collect fallen items, return and do something. Today,I spent the day
(and most of my bonemeal) growing trees. These trees were used to make charcoal, which was in turn used to make
torches and more charcoal. I will now make another run inside the Pyramid.
--Pyramid Run Three--
It's dusk when I leave my home. I'm certain it will be morning again when I return.
I found some more azure dust in a chest. I went to open a chest, and died from a pitfall trap. End of log...
I think you shouldnt give people water, i know a lot of people who are ninjas when they get a bucket of water (i consider myself one too), destroying traps with water is too easy.
Yes, you can do that. It is a choice on your style of living. Use it to get through the pyramid, or use it for crops. Choice of play-style is a big part of this map. This is one of them

Thanks for the review! A lot of details went into this the making of this map.
I am also making a "Part 2" to the map which should be done in a few months. I don't work on maps like other creators do: Get idea, build map, upload map. The way I do it is very... detailed... to say the least. A lot of thought goes into the building of these maps. So it takes a while to get things done but in the end, it works well.

*walks into a room with 2 gold blocks* "Oh! i need a new pick...." *finds iron pick* "YEAH!" *mines 2 gold blocks and gets 18 gold* "HA! They said this was a hard map" *turns around and sees a wall of lava coming at him* "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU" *catches fire and dies*
Well i have decided to record a journal, so i brought it with me to this adventure!
Night 1: As i approached the pyramid i saw the entrance to it was blocked with piles of sand. I shoveled them away. I walked into a lighted hallway and took my first left. Little did i know how trappy this place was, as i had to quickly backstep to avoid a perilous fall into lava. As i walked back into the hallway, i was thrust into the horrors of this tomb when a mummy pushed me precariously close to the edge of this lava pit. I pushed him back with my trusty shovel, and finished him off with a hit from my stone sword. As i took a right, a left, and another left, i turned around sprinting at the sight of two creepers who threatened to bury me in this tomb. I backtracked and then unloaded half of my quiver into the first one. I then followed this with the second creeper. Out of the current danger, and arrows, i continued forward, this time taking another immediate right. This time instead of a small drop into lava, i saw a long trough of lava which, if the sand hadn't held so tight, i would have fallen into, making this one short adventure! I turned back and closed up this entrance with some sand, to ever prevent myself to fall into that situation. I went back to were i found the lingering creepers, and took a left only to see a pressure plate on the floor. I lightly stepped onto it, only to see nothing had happened. A little braver i ventured into this hall. After entering i took a right, only to see the path blocked with some sandstone. I picked my way through, then dug through some sand. I was surprised, and delighted to see a chest on the floor! I quickly brushed the sand off and opened it, only to be pushed back into a lingering sadness as nothing was inside. I covered this hallway to, and ventured forward. I walked forward, and entered an adjacent hallway, looking to my left i saw a chest in plain veiw! Happy, yet suspicious, i snuck towards it, all the time investigating my surroundings. I found no danger inside, or outside this chest, so i grabbed some torches and a few sacks of sand, and continued off in the other direction. My heart jolted as i turned a corner to see two giant spiders leaping towards me, with a mummy closely behind. I killed the first spider, but the second one dropped from the roof onto me! While this distracted me the mummy grabbed me! I quickly went limp and dropped to the ground, then rolled away and killed these two beasts! I looked around and saw i was in a giant room. On one side of the room i saw an odd pile of sand and dug away to find a chest under it! I pulled the chest away and opened it to reveal a solid bar of gold, and what appeared to be a kings crown! Plus stuck in the chest were a few arrows, so i found a couple unbroken ones and deposited them. Deciding to leave back to camp and sleep i started to lead my way back. Easily finding my way back, i left this cursed tomb to see a beautiful full moon! I walked to my camp and stashed my riches, then fell into a deep slumber. It was a dreamless night, but i felt that the next day would be a fearful one...
Night 2: Even from the beginning today was a confusing omen. It started with a terrible rain. I was confused.. Was this a bad sign, as bad rain usually is? Or perhaps a good omen as the desert is usually lacking in rain? Well i also had one of the most frightening experiences of my life on the way to the pyramid. About 1 foot from the entrance lightning struck right next to me, almost igniting me! Were the gods trying to keep me from this tomb..? Or keep me from leaving... I walked in and took a straight walk down this first hallway. Looking to my left i saw a entrance blocked by sand, and to my right darkness. I figured i would start safe and went to dig out the sand. As i approached the sand, i noticed yet another path to my left, but i had a plan, and wanted to finish it. I struck my shovel in and discarded the sand. I must have entered a tomb, as a mummy quickly hobbled towards me. I finished him off and saw a chest covered with sand at the end. Suspicious i moved off the sand. At first i saw nothing so i went for the hatch on the chest, then started falling downwards!! I thought quickly and landed in a pile of sand, with only little health. Sadly all my leather was ripped on the way down, and i was left with my cotton shirt and jeans. Seeing there was no way i could climb my way out, i started making a pile of sand up-to the chest. I wasn't falling for nothing! I then saw my biggest score yet. I stashed 3 golden bars, a pig sack of tnt, with a wick coming out, and an amazing full helm of pure diamond! Next to this i saw a small Egyptian golden symbol, which i instantly recognized as an amulet of healing. I saw it glow and become part of me, as my strength suddenly returned to me! I made my way across the gap back to the entrance, and decided i had enough for today, and quickly left, only to be attacked by a crazed creeper who followed me out into a bright sunlight, blinding me and leaving me open to a big explosion! I was buried in sand and quickly dug my way out. I sat down and ate some food to bring me strength, and stashed my new wonderful goods! I then layed in the shade of the entrance and drifted into a fatigue induced sleep...
Night 3: I awoke to pure darkness. Looking around i attempted to stand, only to feel the soreness of my muscles, jolting pain throughout my body. After stretching a little i gathered my strength and stood up, and entered the tomb to be delighted by the torch light, which ever so slightly stung my un prepared eyes. Walking down the hall i took the left again, and looked into the big pit. I walked back and entered the small hall. I went down it and saw it too split into two different directions. I decided as i would follow pattern i took a left. I entered a small room and saw yet another pressure pad on the floor. I threw a heavy sack of sand onto it, only to see it fall with a large sack of explosive taped to the bottom. As i heard the echoing explosion i backed up and took the right path. As i started I was annoyed to see yet ANOTHER pressure pad. I lightly prodded it with my stone sword. I saw it fall into another lava pit. But i saw a few paths on the other side, so i quickly jumped my way over, almost slipping on sand on the other side, but managing. I took a left path from there, and glanced down to see something i had seen to much of. You guessed it. A pressure pad. Again i knocked it down, to again hear a loud explosion. Jumping over this hole, there was a small pit with lava. I inched my way around, all used to these common traps. I found YET ANOTHER pressure pad. On the other side of it I saw a wall of sand. I felt an odd presence in this pad. I dropped a sack of sand on it and quickly receded. This was just another lava trap though. Feeling foolish i started to dig away the sand wall. There was a small buried chest, which i figured i well deserved after almost dying at least six times on the way here. I opened it then pulled out a torch. Looking into it i saw 2 glittering blue jewels. I instantly recognized them as the rare Lapis Lazuli! I decided i would camp out here, as it would from here on take to long to leave. I placed my small wool blanket down and drifted into a greedy dream, of me buried in jewels and gold, only to drown in the wonderful inviting treasures...
???? 4: I woke up but i'm really not sure if its day or night. I backtracked over the holes of lava, and small explosive pits to find my way back to the fork in the road. Taking a right i dropped down slightly and pulled out a torch and trekked down. I noticed a path to the right after walking a ways and decided to investigate it. Sadly i woke up to just another lava hole. I walked out and walked down the hall. I noticed an inviting chest, and quickly unhatched it. I was greeted by the solemn sight of an empty chest. I walked down another path. At the end i saw a wall of sand and dug my shovel into it. Behind was a small chest. Not getting my hopes up this time, i opened it slowly. Inside was a small, but delightful jewel. Picking up the Lapis i placed it in my pack, and continued back. As i walked around a corner an arrow whizzed by my ear. I quickly backed around the corner. It was to dark to see, so i pulled out my stone sword, and waited. As i heard the footsteps approach i prepared. I then bashed its head with one quick swing and not bothering to look at the beast, walked down the corridor. Taking several turns i found another chest with a small gem inside. Picking it up i walked back to the entrance of this terrible place. I walked into a bright day and decided to use this time. I set up a small shifty sandstone fort. I then decided it was due time to take a break. I drifted off into my imagination... (Im taking a break people! What do you think? Should i continue this tale, or am i just taking forum page space up? Any comments would be nice! Thanks!

Thank you for the feedback guys. I dont usually do this outside of the safety of my own notepad, so the positive feedback is helpful! At least from Pictforum haha. To Faloxx, at least im bumping haha.
Just wait. 1.8 is coming real soon with some cool new stuff! Stone bricks, huge mushrooms, thin glass, iron bars, villages. Etc. Etc.
And expect to see some of those new things in MCPyramid 2!
