So is there any chance of you working on a new map? I enjoyed this one and making a video serious on it, been meaning to make a new series and i would like to do another one of yours if you make another.
Not sure, I don't really have any ideas for a new map that I didn't use on this one. When I make my maps I try and keep them as original as I can and try not to use stuff other people have already seen before, from my other maps or from other peoples.

Hey look buddy, I'm a builder. That means I build custom maps. Not maps like "Escapecraft 3", because that would fall within the purview of your idea of most puzzle maps. I build adventure maps. For instance, how am I going to allow some big old forum user to enjoy adventure to the fullest? The answer? Use a pyramid. And if that don't work, use more pyramid. Like this big, old, dusty pyramid designed by me. Built by me. And you'd best hope... being played by you.

Updated to 3.4. New designs in pit traps have changed one of the pit trap rooms. Almost 100% undetectable. Good luck, newcomers!

Well I just finished. I played on peaceful because I'm a coward. But I still got the feeling for it. I saw where monsters would have made a difference and I thought those rooms were clever.
The rest of this will be in white to reduce spoilers.
I only fell for one trap in the whole pyramid, and this one trap really screwed me up. It is the trap where there is an obvious sand ceiling. So I stayed back, knocked down the ceiling, and I didn't realize that whole hallway collapsed. You got me there. Very sneaky and clever. You didn't kill me, but you caused a mass confusion. So I went and grabbed the chest, then left the room and blocked it off as a dead end. More on this later.
2 things gave me an intimidate advantage. I kept the water bucket to put out all the lava around the pyramid. This allowed me to do a few puzzles with ease. Probably the biggest advantage was I gathered tons of sand. Not by digging...but by drilling a hole very deep down outside the pyramid, then using the "torch under the gravel mining trick" to clear stacks of sand in one simple motion. So I made tons of sandstone. Using this sandstone I was able to close up dead end passages, (This way I could also collect my torches from dead end hallways), and test for collapsible floors and use sandstone to bridge myself around.
So I made it all the way down to the bottom floor. I cleared all the rooms... but I never found anything that resembled an "end". I came back to this thread to see what was going on, I saw there was an end room. So I got back into the game. I started using the X-ray glitch to see where I messed up. I spent a good 45 minutes looking all around the pyramid. I saw more puzzle rooms I never entered, but saw no way to get there. I grew a bunch of trees to make more torches so I could fully light up the place. Then finally I decided to check the room where I fell in the trap. And there it was, a dark hallway in the corner.
So i finished the pyramid. Looked for an escape route in the gold room. Gave up and walked back out. That pitfall below the diamond pillar almost got me. But I jumped out of the way just in time. Torches are also a safety net against ceiling collapses. Place a torch under me and knock the ceiling down, and all the sand gets destroyed by the torch.
So my verdict... this Map is AMAZING. Its different than any other adventure map, because, you can do whatever you want legitly to complete it. This really adds to the download and I can't wait to see if you make something else similar. Making the pyramid out of bedrock is a great idea, but It must have been a little annoying to work with.
Thanks for the map, I really enjoyed playing it.

Well, everybody has their way of playing this map! Even though playing on easy+ would be more challenging, it doesn't really matter because the traps will still get you. Also, about that bucket of water trick, very smart. Its a good thing to do. But if you were playing on easy+ it would have to give you the choice of using it to make food, or to use it in the pyramid. I tried to design this make to be 100% unique in almost every way: giving you 100% freedom, choices, and different ways to do things. It also brings out your "greediness" by tempting you to go for some treasure. Sometimes they are trapped. Sometimes they are not.

I'm still playing this (on peaceful because I'm creeperophobic), but I totally love it so far. Even the more obvious traps (the pressure plates on the first floor) have a certain nervousness to them, leaving me wondering if the whole floor is trapped to give me a false sense of security. The soul sand room on B1 was pretty ingenious, I loved that one. I've been using a hit and run tactic to grab treasure after some early deaths, and tend to run in without anything except a few sandstone and run back out after grabbing one chest. Anyone else do that?
-Able to get peoples attention easy
-Attractive (good looking, can't be painful to look at)
-Must show a part of the pyramid and what its like briefly (just a picture of a good part of the inside, the treasure room, or even the outside of the pyramid showing its size and greatness, will do)
-And must show the name MCPyramid somewhere on the picture
Hey thought I would have a go at making a sig pic. Not made one in years so my PS is a bit rusty but if you feel there is anything more I can add or change about it let me know and I will see what I can do. Made it very quickly but I think it has a nice look to it. Would be happy to improve it how you see fit as I would like to get using PS well again.
And just to let you know I loved this map. Definitely one of my favourite adventure style maps.
Managed to finish it in around an hour or so. Never tallied my score as on my way back out I fell into lava and lost everything ):
Awesomeness! Much better than mine. Thanks!

There we go (: I thought it looked wrong but was too lazy to check (I did say I made it quick haha)
Also if you make any other levels like this I would be happy to make a sig for it if you want.
Better thanks

Had to begin it from scratch three times, before I settled into a good "many raids" approach.
You say you added a secret room - I'm pretty sure I have looted everything, but I don't know if I found that one or not, can you give me a hint to know if I still need to search more? How does the inside/contents of the secret room look like?

I'm seriously tempted to coat the pyramid in glass and have lava running down the sides, for shits 'n giggles.
If you do take pics or it didn't happen!

Just one. And when I say "hard to find" I mean its difficult to get to.

Made a texture pack using a couple of other texture packs. Looks amazing now! Updated to 4.0 which includes:
Texture pack which gives the "Pyramid" feel (the pyramid is the same, so if you don't feel like using the pack you don't have to. Its just for looks)!
New read me file which includes a story on why you are here!
Updating screen shot in a little while to fit texture

I updated the pictures last night to include the texture pack. I used some painterly textures, and some Ancient Egypt texture pack texture. All credit goes to painterly pack and Nethellus.

Updated to 4.1. Fixed texture pack a little. Didn't like the iron and diamond tools. This is probably the last update! I guess this is the final version, 4.1

Challenges have been added for extra play time after reaching the tomb room! When each challenge is completed, add the points to your score. Feel free to tell me some challenges that you think should be in the level when replying to this topic. If its a good challenge, I will add it. The challenge must be possible without disobeying the rules, and must be possible with the stuff that can be found throughout the level.

Much harder: same as above, but cover it in glass.
