a map where I can BUILD IN PEACE WITH MORE THAN A 10x10 FLAT SURFACE FIND EVERY 50 CHUNKS COVERED WITH MOUNTAINS!!!!!
Thank you, sir, its surprising but the easiest maps to make sometimes come in the highest demand. Which is why I was annoyed not to find anyone having made a map generator that just generated a flat line. T_T
The first set of flat maps you can only build two blocks high because it's two blocks from the height limit (for tunneling only)
the second set is halfway to the height limit so you can dig 63 blocks down and 64 blocks up.
the last set is 4 blocks above bercock so you can build up 123 blocks
the height limit is 128
the bottom of the map is bedrock that takes up 1 layer
Thanks man this is epic ps maby a world made entirly of TnT
there already are TNT flatmaps. go look....

I have no idea what you are talking about... *whistles*
I've seen a lot of different requests for Flat maps for SSP and SMP.
So after finding this Thread- By codewarrior
I used MCEdit to change the blocks in the grass ones from that thread and i'm releasing them.
These maps are 1024x1024x128. They do not generate more land. There are bedrock walls and a floor.
Unzip the world you want.
Rename it to WorldX where X is a free world in minecraft.

I'm sorry but i can't make custom flat maps my mac can't handle it
Enjoy! (No Credit!).
Texture Pack is Painterly Pack (Google it)
I'm sorry to say but there is no way to edit the biomes on the flat maps. the temp, moisture are recalculated throughout the game. the only way i could do it is force a biome through a .class mod
Small updates:
1. The playable map is nearly done (Thanks to Adventurecraft)
Need to work on respawnning, It freezes when you click respawn.... not sure why.
2. I may be able to force biomes (Thanks to Adventurecraft, I Managed a Savanna Coloured one
3. After the Playable map I will be making the 125 Dirt then the 31 Above bedrocks and 94 Above bedrock
4. I'm slower now because school started about 3 weeks ago.
Free bump!

also i'm still looking for the whole biome thing.
going to talk to the person that made the biome extractor he may be able to shed some light
also biome terrain mod may be able to generate a near flat map with resources and such with some tweaking.
also will will be making more flatmaps but once i find the biome thing.

OMFG SO COOL!
"Look at me still talking when there's science to do. When I look out there it makes me glad I'm not you."
There was no coal diamond etc. to begin with but i'm trying to figure out how to go about making a playable map
It was not pretty. My PC nearly died. >_>
ah well. Had plenty of time to get minecraft working while I waited for it to load.
Had to use 4 batchs, never seen it do that before...
