I have now added a "walkthrough" section to my original post (though I suppose "Vague Hint" section might be more accurate). Hope that helps those of you who are stuck.
VERY glad you all like it. I'm drawing up plans for a sequel/full version. Anyone have an opinion as to whether the next should be added into the same file (i.e. you would have to play through the first game again to get to the second, but it would all be included in one package), or a true "sequel" (i.e. completely separate file)?
Also, I have tried EVERYTHING with MCEdit to change the spawn point (not that it will help if you blow up half the level when you die) - and I do know how to save the file when using it =) Anyone who can send me a save that has the spawn point in the right place will earn 100 internets, a mention in the credits and the right to design a puzzle for the sequel (assuming it doesn't suck).
There are enough to make a bow, a full suit of diamond armor, a diamond sword and a full stack of arrows
I'll go through again tomorrow and see if I can remember where I put them all. One hint -
anyplace there might be a furnace is a good place to look. I abused the furnaces pretty bad in this one. Pretty much just laziness on my part.
In my defense, MOST of them are in "plain sight" (not hidden like they are in rooms two and three). I only started this thing on Friday, and I placed almost every block manually, so I was a little tired by the time I started adding the items.
Amazing maze, greatly enjoyed it :smile.gif:
took me about 40 minutes, and at the part where I had to make math, I just tested 1+9, 2+8, 3+7... you get the idea :tongue.gif:
The tnt-thingy... Missed for me to. It missed the target by about 1 pixel or so. I would make the target bigger.
Anyways, I love this! The only downsides are that some of the solutions are a bit tedious to do, and if you don't craft correctly (due to stupidity or ignorance) then you have to restart due to needing the resources. I still love it, and am about to restart a fourth time.
Hehe that was cool, and i THINK I did everything legit. I can't tell if I did the redstone wire room properly, but I placed the 2 provided and it opened, so :smile.gif:
I just had to trial and error through the 3rd to last room, was there a hint provided to tell you the correct way?
If anyone is having problems with a particular room due to the mechanics...
like the TNT floor room
give me some details as to what seems to be the problem. On that room in particular, is the TNT not falling straight down? Is it just hard to see which TNT is over the target? Any details you can give would be helpful!
Also, though I've said it a few time now, I'm really glad you guys like it. My notepad has a list of another dozen ideas for new rooms. Once I get another 10 or so I'll start building it. I'm a lot more confident with MCEdit now, so hopefully that will make the process easier (though lots of the new ideas are... very complex. I'll probably still need to do a lot of it manually).
As a teaser - I'm reading through every post I can on cannon construction. I suggest you do the same =)

As long as your future puzzles don't require use to understand how an ALU works, I bet we can fumble through it.
Edit: Although in future versions, I would advise you build it around the default spawn point. Make the first room full of doors that are opened via switches in the beginning of every room, so when you get to a new room, you can flick a switch and if you die you can just walk right back there and continue. Maybe put a chest with the items you should have up to that point? Make it a rule that you cannot open the chest unless you die or something.
@merlinus12 - Its actually possible to solve the redstone room using only one of the two.
near the door if you place a single piece in the right spot, you can get the torch to short itself out, which will result in the door opening
This is true. I didn't read the spoilers until now, but back tracking the circuit that is what I did because it made perfect sense and obviously worked.

It will probably just require you to operate it. I'm debating whether that would entail you just activating it or would require placing a block or two to complete it. Obviously, constructing a cannon from scratch would be too big a task (I'm still figuring the damn things out), as would any sort of "aiming."
I definitely want the next installment to give a little more freedom in solving puzzles - including more construction. After all, building is the bleeding heart of the game. I just need to come up with some clever ways to give you a little more material to play with without making every challenge too easy. With sufficient supplies, you can do just about anything in this game - which is awesome, but it makes puzzle-creation tricky.

Didn't foresee that. Kudos. Doesn't bother me much though - after all, you really have to know your redstone to know you can do that. Glad to see I unintentionally gave you a few extra options =)
