I will check it out!
Regarding the spawn location why don't you use MCEdit or one of those other map editors to change it.
You are welcome to try - I and about a dozen others have attempted just that without success. Apparently the original problem had something to do with needing a direct view of the sky... but even with that fixed it doesn't work right.
Fortunately, EC 2 has a spawn point that works just fine =)
That seems to be a common problem. Part of me would like to go back and remake EC1 from the ground up (and likely remove that room in the process), but I get the feeling everyone would rather I spend my time making new stuff rather than revamping the old.
One of the big lessons I learned on EC1 was that puzzles in which failure=death=game over aren't fun, they're just frustrating. In EC2, very few puzzles could kill you outright and the combination of accessible respawn points and a design that made carrying items from one puzzle to the next unnecessary made the experience MUCH less frustrating. (Although the cannons near the end could break and leave you unable to finish).
EC3 has virtually no lethal puzzles (at least that are intended to be lethal upon failure). For the most part you'll be free to attempt them over and over again until you figure them out, which I think makes for a more enjoyable experience. It certainly leaves me with more freedom to make the puzzles more complex and challenging, which is usually a recipe for fun.
So I was wondering... I beat this multiple times, and am always finding furnaces in new places to get the extra items from. I can never, however, seem to find enough items so that I have the maximum amount (aka I can craft stuff in that last room until I have no more items). Could you please make a walk through of where all the furnaces are? Or are we supposed to have extra "bonus items" in the end?
It's my OCD I guess : ) Tell me if my question did not make sense!

The question makes perfect sense. I added a few extra items into the mix so as to increase the likelihood that players would have enough to make some armor. Some of those furnaces a very hard to find, so I assumed that all but the chronically OCD would be unable to find them all.
As for the walkthrough... honestly, I don't think I could find all the furnaces anymore If I get some time after EC3 is complete, I'll try to run through and do some work on EC1. I'm very happy with how EC2 turned out, and fully expect that EC3 will blow people away, but the original is pretty sketchy by comparison. Maybe down the road I'll make a "collector's edition" available that fuses all 3 games together into a single, seamless experience.
A bit too hard for my taste. I made a map but nearly as cool as this. I'm making another map that will hopefully be really big and with a zombie theme. Any tips?
why why would you make the game in order to download you have to do a survey why... this looked sweet in fact all 3 of them look bad ass but now no... its all dead to me

That's very odd. There should be a short ad before you get to the download, but it should be skippable (there is supposed to be a "Skip Ad" button in the top right corner).
If it is actually forcing you to watch/complete something PLEASE post something to me (a screenshot, preferably) and I'll get rid of it. That is VERY much against my agreement with the ad guy. The ads help me pay for all the bandwidth we are using, but I'd hate to offend you guys - I make these for you!
I don't feel like reading the whole thread, so I'm sorry if this has been suggested before, but:
If you can move the spawn point, can't you make the player spawn in an area with something like 5 tunnels all leading to a copy of the maze? That way, players have 5 chances before having to re-install the whole thing. In that case you should also adjust the rules so that they're not allowed to take items from 1 copy to another
There is a way we could implement a checkpoint system (we just put one in EC3). It just a question of having the time to do it (it is rather time-consuming, and there are 2 other games we've made and another we are wanting to make...)
I really can´t install this. I unpack the zip and places it in the folder there my save files are. But when i start the savefile my map looks exactly like it did before. Doesn´t this work with Beta 1.3 or what?
It does work with Beta 1.3.
You don't just load up your usual world and find Escapecraft. You'll need to load "World_" (I will be changing that name next update to be more obvious). You might have to scroll down a bit to find it.

What's changed in EP2? More rooms? :biggrin.gif:Stupid question. AWESOMENESS! (EscapeCraft 2)I died in the TNT path room D:
The complete process was this: (DON'T VIEW IF YOU REALLY HAVEN'T DONE IT)
• Placed redstone on 1st and 3rd steel tiles (I think) then removed them
• Placed redstone on 4th steel tile
• DOOR OPENED O_O

If you're talking about the second room, there's no button around, but you have the resources to make "something".
