These are the breeds I am currently working on : Black, Bronze, Cave, Earth, Gold, Grey, Lava, Ocean, Purple, River, Silver, Spotted, Star (Or space), Striped, Thunder, White, Red Gemstone, Green Gemstone and Blue Gemstone. I'm going to add at least 10 more breeds, maybe more. It's going to be nice, being able to collect a whole bunch of dragons instead of the default ones.
Grab a fresh copy of the Forge environment and make sure you're unblocking the file before extracting it. If it's still not there, try a different version. When it comes to compiling mods it doesn't really matter what revision the Forge environment is as long as it's fairly recent. I think I'm using either 1230 or 1291 for 1.7.10 stuff.
I did that, followed all of the steps, then I get this
I've had this happen before, it usually happens when there's an error in the coding. Misplaced characters and spaces along with discrepancies between files can make this happen. The output in the command window sort of tells you what it isn't liking so you can go back and fix it, although I've sometimes just saved what I could and restarted from scratch. Just double and triple check everything and maybe try removing the files that the command windows lists as being "defective" and see if you get a clean build. And if you weren't using this method already, I would add breeds one-by-one and compile/test the mod after adding each one to make sure each breed works properly since you're adding so many. It's a little more time consuming initially but makes troubleshooting much easier as you're not adding a bunch of variables you have to dig through to try and find the culprit file.
BTW the new breeds sound awesome!

Okay. For now I'll stick to texturing the dragons. Question though, how do I fix it so that the white parts that the wing flaps are on don't show up? Thanks for the help
Honestly haven't see that before. What program did you use to edit? Might happen if you change the resolution or if the background isn't transparent (not sure of the exact word in image editing).

You have to make sure you use an editor that doesn't get rid of the transparency of the "body.png" and "glow.png". This means that Paint won't work for these two. I'd suggest using Gimp or Photoshop.
How do we find our version for step 5? Because when I try and compile everything, it says build failed. It says the version i used doesn't exist... I used the same one you did. =(

That's the word I was looking for, thanks lol. I'd also recommend Gimp, I use it for everything.
Ok I've been trying to make a dragon breed faster by copying the air dragon file and using that for a base and I do everything right, but when I put the mod in my mods folder, forge doesn't load it! I even tried using the older version of my dragon mounts mod with no luck! I've uninstaled minecraft, re-instaled it, and even re-done the dragon mounts mod! I'm at loss for what to do
Have you tried an unedited version of the mod? Yours might not have compiled correctly even though it says it did (I've had it happen). Open up your edited mod .jar with WinRAR and check to make sure the main folders (the "java" and "resources" folders) are in the .jar file.

I got it working, but every time I try and use the Ather dragon file as a base, it screws something up. I changed everything that said ather to the name of my dragon with no avail. =(
I have found difficulties using the aether as a base. I think it has something to do with the dragon only hatching at a certain level. I would recommend using a different base. The Ender base works well for me.

Hi Stryker I have been having fun w/ this tutorial and I am planning on creating httyd textures for this mod just for fun and for my own. So the big deal is its really hard to make the Hideous Zippleback and Snaptrapper textures because you know they have multiple heads and the question is can there be an extension for the model?

When you add models, things become quite a bit more complicated. Besides the obvious of designing a model in first place, you also have to create individual animations for walking, flying, sitting, standing, etc. Given the right software, this could be really simple, but generally such software can be rather expensive. There is a chance (pretty slim) that you'll be able to find the right models in other dragon mods. You'd have to get the source code though and then make it compatible with the dragon mounts code.
Hi Stryker this tutorial was really helpful I have created my own dragon now, I call it Night WIng
Nice texture can you send it to me via PM?

Doesn't matter what the press says. Doesn't matter what the politicians or the mobs say. Doesn't matter if the whole country decides that something wrong is something right. This nation was founded on one principle above all else: the requirement that we stand up for what we believe, no matter the odds or the consequences. When the mob and the press and the whole world tell you to move, your job is to plant yourself like a tree beside the river of truth, and tell the whole world — "No, you move

What I mean by forge won't load it is that minecraft will launch, but the mod won't be in the mods section
